I liked it. Always up for something a little different. The size of the people doesn't really matter. It's all about intimidation and strength in numbers. Nexus as individuals weren't all big blokes with big personalities. It was all about the unpredictable nature of their actions. Same here. Cocky people out for whatever they believe should be theirs.

There is zero intimidation though. Nexus had big blokes in there too. Ryback is a unit and Wade had some height to him, while Darren Young and Otunga were beefy too. Considering the angle and what they were going for, you need to be somewhat intimidating. Otherwise everyone is wondering why security aren't recreating that great Loki picture.

I saw a video of it on twitter and I thought it looked absolutely ridiculous. It's Nexus but everyone is Justin Gabriel.

  2. It's really bothersome the ease with which WWE managed to sweep the Massaro rape and treatment under the carpet. Most serious companies would have been hammered for it, but wrestling is such pondlife pop culture to the mainstream that it didn't get much, if any, coverage. Doesn't help the wrestling bubble is filled with 'journalists' that are whimpering fan boys - MMA has this problem too.

The fact Massaro will never get the justice she deserves still angers me. Anyone that read about what she went through, I can't imagine your view on WWE and wrestling hasn't changed. Not if you have anything about you.

  3. OGS has been clear that he wants competition in all the positions on the pitch - in the same way Ferguson had Yorke, Cole, Sheringham and OGS. As he feels it will push players on; he doesn't want the current front 3 to think their positions are safe.

We saw during these past few weeks, he doesn't rate much outside of United's first 11 either so the club probably have another 3 transfer windows to go before getting it sorted. CB, FBs, CM, CF all need looked at.

Sancho is a great signing. United have the cash to pay the fee which clubs know about because Woodward was saying how much cash they have in reserve and how well they are doing despite COVID, so it's difficult to play that card.

Worth noting that the club are apparently saving €60m over two years by letting Sanchez leave of a free too.

  4. Martin Short as Jack Dorso is just about as funny as a person can be. Similar to Rik Mayall, he just chews up the screen and steals the episode.

    "TO THE NUTS!".

  5. The competition always catches up with the champ, it's just the way things go, but Joanna looked unbeatable for a period. As wand said, she is one of the most pleasing fighters to watch on the roster, due to her speed and incredible skill. She's as hard as trying to remember how to spell her surname.

  6. A very forgettable fight but Usman went about it in the smartest way possible by grappling with Masvidal and wearing him down to the point he wasn't really offering much. Taking a fight against cardio machine like Usman on such short notice was always going to be near impossible if it went into the 3rd and beyond.

I scored the fight for Volkanovski. 3rd round was tight but 4 and 5, Volkanovski clearly sussed out Holloway. I was hoping Max would have won because I'm well up for a 3rd fight between these two. Hopefully Jon "Life At the Outpost" Anik started shushing Holloway towards the end.

  7. I honestly didn't know this show was taking place until the Masvidal news broke. I'm not the biggest Masvidal fan but he's undeniably an exciting fighter.

I think the only thing Usman has to fear right now is a PED test, so I heavily favour him, but Masvidal could easily do something mental and spark him out. With Usman, it's whether you can survive the crazy pace and I doubt Masvidal was working hard on his cardio prior to this. If Usman makes it out the first round or two I can see him smothering Masvidal and maybe doing so to a finish.

  8. Such a character. I've often joked about him being the baddest Dad on the planet, but it's always warmed the heart the amount of love and respect (and, yes, fear) Khabib obviously has for him.

57 is so young too. It must have been such a joy seeing what has become of Khabib, after he trained him from such a young age. At least they got to share that experience with one another.

  9. That's it. WWE production can be very good, but they have certain tropes they fall back into all the time which are naff - like Rick mentioning the slo-mo stuff with Cole shouting rubbish over the top of it. I also think someone with a good mind for this sort of thing would have done a far better job breaking the undeniable "same as it ever was" pattern throughout.

In the Jordan docuseries, for example, they realise that final season alone isn't interesting enough for a great series, so they add stories from the past which tie into a present story, or even focus on specific players. Tied together it creates a more fuller picture and makes it such a dynamic watch with every episode offering something different,

All fluff talk, of course, because #ReleaseTheEdelmanCut isn't happening.

  10. Rick's review is pretty spot on. I thought it was good but it started to become a bit of a self-parody midway through.

The last episode is brilliant because you suddenly sense The Undertaker has completely let his guard down and has come to terms with giving up on The Undertaker gimmick. He's actually quite funny in the last episode, taking the piss out of himself etc. The bit where they're in the locker room and he's talking and he gets so relaxed he talks about the eyeliner story is a great bit of documentary film making - it has such a flow to it, as you sense 'Taker is slowly letting you in. The last 15 minutes were a wee bit overproduced for my tastes but it definitely had it's moments.

I think a great docu-series could have been made if the footage got into the hands of an independent production. Less of the overblown slo-mo WWE crap, more chats in the locker room, or Vince and Taker's odd relationship.
