Simon is getting comfy on that sofa, isn't he? I reckon he's going to end up as Alan's replacement.

Just watched last night's episode - definitely sowing that seed...but I can see it going down the route of Alan ramping up the negging and hostility feeling threatened by Simon's growing popularity, Simon lamps him as mentioned above and they both end up leaving the show, with Jenni's fiancé stepping in. Alan's fragile ego destroying someone else's career once again - which is classic Partridge.

This week was great, others have covered the best bits - never been a fan of Tim Key but he's been note perfect on this show. Simon seems to be growing in confidence week on week - and the mannerisms and tics throughout have been spot on in conveying that.

  2. Germany, Lithuania and Czech Republic are the favourites in the Bicurious household (I.e the wife and kids)

No LittleBig this year which is a mistake because they were a lock to win last year, with so many returning artists from last year it feels a bit more like Backlash than Wrestlemania. Still, my kids are hyped for it so I’m glad it’s going ahead.

I anticipate that I’ll be imbibing alcohol for the first time this year to get through it.

  3. Had Pfizer yesterday afternoon and so far feeling fine. Arm is sore but it’s only when I move it and just feels like a bruise, nothing severe. Thank goodness as I’ve got 6 hours of zoom calls today and wasn’t looking forward to that if I got something more on the hard end of the side effects.

  4. Wife and I are booked in for Thursday afternoon, sadly our centre is 2 minutes away and there are no chain fast food establishments in our small town so I will be letting down the forum on the McDonalds front.

  5. The Mitchells vs The Machines is fantastic, been low key hyped for it since the debut trailers last year so very glad it didn’t disappoint. Didn’t realise it had moved to Netflix so it was a pleasant surprise seeing it pop up yesterday. Shame not to experience it in a cinema but very much came to terms with that a while ago.

Feels very much like a Lord and Miller film, even though they were only producers. Almost a refined mesh of some of the best elements of their previous projects Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs, Lego movie and Spider-verse.

Sony Animation is right at the peak of their game right now, hoping Corridor Digital do a breakdown of the VFX at some point on their channel like they did with Spider-verse.

Olivia Colman’s rise to national treasure status has to be near complete now surely?

on a side note, Mortal Kombat was also a delight. Kano steals the show but it was a very easy enjoyable watch.

Yeah it’s a real shame that there’s such a barrier to entry on it. Not just in cost, but I know a lot of people really don’t get on in VR at all due to motion sickness etc.

Hopefully one day Valve will remember they make games.

Oculus just updated their firmware and added Airlink, replacing the need to use Virtual Desktop to play PCVR games wirelessly through your headset. Played a bit of Half Life and Beat Saber yesterday and the stability/latency is fantastic - they're using algorithms to adjust the stream quality dynamically, something which Virtual Desktop struggles with. The latency and stuttering through VD was passable for some games but stuff like Beat Saber was fairly unplayable - no longer the case with Airlink. It's really opened up the potential of the headset and amazing that something which had already given me fantastic value for money since I bought it is still improving and expanding it's limitations.

They also added support for 120Hz display in their games, just waiting for games to update to use it though - that'll be another massive improvement (90Hz was already pretty fantastic though).

  7. You can get around it by saying the Edge wasn’t the aggressor. Same logic in tag matches when a partner breaks a pin, legal opponent is still covering and the shoulders are still on the mat but the count has been broken because the person pinning has been attacked.

or, as is more likely it’ll never be referred to, as well it shouldn’t.

  8. Cesaro, Rollins and Bad Bunny top 3 of the night with Banks and Belair running not far behind. Weird night, but fantastic show.

This was my daughters first ppv watching live and she loved it from start to finish. Thankfully we’re not repeating it again tonight, getting too old for this 5am bedtime malarkey.

Feel bad for Drew, all his big moments to empty rooms full of monitors, carries RAW through the pandemic only to get steamrollered by the Lashley renaissance.

Yes, the turmoil match was fairly basic it was for the most part competent (and nice of Mandy to pay tribute to HOF inductee Daley Boy Smith by falling on her fookin’ arse - AJ almost had a moment as well later on). Extra points for Dana thinking the crowd were popping for her, not the fall as well. Really should have been the Riott Squad to get the match tomorrow but instead we get the really unenticing all heels matchup instead. Thought it was an odd choice given their recent program feuding with the champs that Naomi and Lana went out first.

Other than that Shane’s cage bump looked sore, he didn’t get himself flattened out and came down all on his shoulders and neck. Hopefully no lasting damage, over 50 and not a regular athlete is a dangerous combo.

Have to say, if they want to keep going with 16 match cards I’m happy for them to have 2 nights and the pre-show on Smackdown every year. The 3 hours (post delay) zipped by and nothing felt rushed.

My first guess would be because they'd like future Bethesda titles to come to PS4 & PS5. My second guess would be money.

I can’t see it being money for Sony, not to put one of their first party titles on Xbox. I would wager that MLB have had some influence, maybe the rights were up and Microsoft paid to secure the cross platform release. Huge get for them in the states, with the Bethesda purchase and eroding some first party Sony exclusivity it’s smart moves.

  10. Going by this forum the main side effect seems to be a hankering for Big Macs.

Also hope your mum is doing ok Teedy.

  11. Hopefully not veering off too much because there is a specific VR thread but right now unless you want the exclusive playstation games then the Quest 2 is a far better option for now. Having the library of games which the headset plays standalone plus the ability to use it as a PCVR headset (wirelessly as well using the Virtual Desktop app) really makes it a great value product. I play Beat Saber most nights which is tremendous fun and gives the same sort of 'try and beat your score' replay value that Guitar Hero used to do - plus the modding community and ability to add custom songs really extends the lifespan of the game. Some of the PC titles such as Half Life Alyx are just astounding games, let along VR games.

Also - no camera required and no sodding wires to contend with, plus you're not restricted to playing it in front of your TV.

Ha, same here!! Hoping for an Xbox one that will do the job like Train Sim World does!

Flight Sim 2020 is coming out for Xbox this summer, but only the Series S/X not the Xbox One (understandably, no way it would cope!)
