TNG was my first real nerd fandom as a youngster, I was obsessed for a long time and still love the show today. X-Men came a couple of years later for me and remains my greatest love of any property. Both converged with my first real experience of ‘fan casting’ when rumours of the first x-men films were swirling around 98. I wanted Stewart to play Professor X, and he was every bit as good as I thought he would be. The fact that he’s shortly reprising the role for the 9th time in a couple of months will be a bittersweet way to say goodbye to possibly my favourite actor throughout my lifetime.
Harmonic is spot on to say he was never less than iconic in everything he did. Even doing guest voiceovers for Seth McFarlane comedies he shone.
Rest in Peace Professor, Captain, Admiral. Just like Q, you were my favourite too.
