  1. I have just watched The Network special on Big Dave and he comes across so well. If you compare that to the Goldberg one its chalk and cheese.  He seems a genuine nice bloke. Looks a million dollars as well. Despite the slight pea head.

  2. I love that Canelo is fighting more often. He is the best fighter on the planet at the moment and in his prime, so anytime you see him fight, its a bonus. I Watched a couple of reviews of his fight against Smith recently and some of the things he does with his feet, his feints, they way he aims shots at Smiths arms to bust them up, he’s just an unbelievable all round fighter.

I would love to see the Canelo of today fight Calzaghe or Benn in their primes, or Roy Jones. I’d bet on Canelo cleaning out all divisions other than heavyweight in the next couple of years. I mean Smith will move up to Light Heavy and probably win a belt and look what he did to him. Can you imagine Canelo v Okolie at Cruiserweight, it would be a massacre.

  3. You can’t help but like Aveneyson. He’s tough as nails and relentless. Looks like a move up to 154 for Kelly.

What is it about questionable engines for certain Booth fighters? Haye, Groves, Kelly.

Connor Benn in about 2 Sky appearances as a pundit seems to speak more sense than the rest of them put together.

  4. He’a not a grass either.

Is there any reason that prick Kugan doesn't interview him anymore? Hes terrible anyway. So much up the arse of Whyte and Saunders but in a scared way, like a kid at school trying to banter and get on with the bullies.

This is a great interview after the fight lastnight from IFL....

  5. When you think how quick Howard Foster was to stop Groves against Froch all those years back as well. The UK has to have the worst judges in the world right now. I read online, i don't know if true or not, that 2 judges had Warrington ahead before he got stopped. He basically lost 90% of the fight after the opening minute.

Lara must carry some decent power. Sky commentary kept saying Josh was flat, i think that was because of Laras heavy hands.

In hindsight It’s turned out to be a bad career move by Warrington. Leaves Warren to sign with Matchroom, vacates his title to avoid fight Kid Galahad again, agrees to fight an unheard of opponent and gets battered. Warrington was 1/25 on Sky Bet.

Well I forgot all about the bloody clap tonight (fuck off anyone putting that in out of context) and went out to put a bin bag in the wheelie bin.

As I went to go back in I spotted my over the road neighbour with his dog and presumed he was going for a jaunt, I waved and went to go in only for the bastard street to erupt into applause. Did I fuck hang about though, dinner was on and it was raining.

Maybe they were happy you we’re fucking off back into your house you Try  Hard.

Apologies to those who've heard this story many times before, but there was a point in 1988 where Sky had been weeks or even months behind with WWF TV and then suddenly caught up, either by skipping stuff or doing multiple episodes a week. This coincided with WWF having a big round of cuts, which meant that to our eyes a load of guys just disappeared without explanation.

So we made one up. One kid had seen an Apter mag and half-remembered the story about Adrian Adonis and others dying in a car crash. This quickly turned into Chinese whispers and within weeks it was a well-established fact that all the missing wrestlers had died in a coach crash and that Junk Yard Dog was the driver.

The WWF Magazine was out over here with the results to Mania 5 before it showed on cable.

What Cable used to do was show old shows on a Thursday (about a year behind) and quite uptodate ones on the Saturday, they eventually scrapped this and started showing Primetime i think or Challenge. Primetime was on Eurosport for some reason. As far as i can remember, may be wrong.

  8. As a veteran of Screen sport and Lifestyle Chanel, i was always aware of other federations. Plus us lucky Coventrians had PWI on sale here from late 88/early 89. That was my first delve into learning such things as Savage and Leaping Lanny were brother.

I always remember @Mr Lawrence would bang on about how Dr Feelgood by Motley Crue would make for a good entrance and a good gimmick. But I think he wanted the character to hulk up after injecting himself with roids or having a bag of beak so I don’t think it would’ve got past development

I was nearly going to post that myself. The tune, not the drugs part. Great memory.
