  1. Groves looked good lastnight, fights very similar to Haye now. I think he has improved alot over the last couple of years. He can put together savage combinations and Johnson done well to take the punches he did.

The Saunders fight was alot more competitive than i thought it would be, his opponent was a tough tough bloke and should get some more tv exposure of that performance.

Khan - despite Jim Watt gushing about Khan i did not think he fought that different and still got caught a few times - flush as well. Khan should steer well clear of Garcia as i believe he would get sparked out again.

My mate told me about this website, SOSO Boxing, first i have heard of it, looks great. Heres a link to last weeks Pac/Marquez fight for anyone who hasnt yet seen it.

  2. Looked a good atmosphere at the Flintoff fight, i'm still not convinced the American was brought over to win the fight, he hardly threw a punch and after he knocked him down he didnt follow up up. It was what it was, i cannot see Flintoff fighting again. I found it funny that Rosenthal was trying to build the American up and he came out with the line, from the mean streets of Oklahoma and Buncey started pissing himself.

Denton Vassell looked impressive and i like Paul Smith on the commentary and as a pundit as well, he speaks alot of sense and is a welcome break from Buncey and Illis.

Price again looked good and done what he needed to do. Theres still a big gap between Big Wlad and every other heavyweight though but hopefully Price moves on next year and has a big fight with either Fury or one of the Klitchkos.

Big TF tonight, should be entertaining, although he can look vulnerable and unorthadox at times, Fury has improved and i think he will stop Johnson tonight and i can see his promoter speaking afterwards, sweating and doing the used car salesman talk about Fury which should be entertaining in it's own way.

Cotto Trout tonight, i do not know that much about Trout but love watching Cotto box, the man is cool as fuck, great look, humble chap and has fought the best. I hope Cotto wins and sets up a match with Alvarez next sumer, that would be a great matchup and would renew the Mexican/Puerto Rico fued, wether the fight held in Mexico or MSG or Vegas would prob be best for a mix of fans, it sould be a great one.

  3.

emotional press conference, what a warrior, at least he went for it and give it one last go, the hulk hogan, stone cold of british boxing. it does look like he has closure now.

  4. Haye is coming across quite well i think, he completed a task lastnight and got all the stars, he seems quite popular with the others. Cool confident charachter, hasnt had a run in with anyone really. The only thing he has done which upset another camper was throw a log of the fire on to the floor for no reason, because of this Brian Connely started crying, literally blubbering, was strange when he apolagised to Haye for overreacting, Haye seemed very uncomfortable as Connely was still very emotional, he said he didnt know if to chin him or hug him.

Pumped up for Hatton tonight, as has been said before Fuck knows what will happen. Hatton says he isnt going to go at him in straight lines which i think is wise as his punch resistance has to be alot less than it was. Will be interesting to see if he can take a dig and how fit he is. If he paces himself and can take a half decent punch then i could see him hooking and holding his way to a pts win on maybe even a late stoppage if he can get his body shots off.

If he rushes out and fails to get him out of there early then he could be in trouble. Either way the atmosphere should be electric.

I can see Quigg beating Munroe on pts, i thought in the second round of the last fight Quigg seemed to have figured on Munroe a bit, could be another messy fight though.

If Murray wins he gets a shot at Martinez next year in Argentina so hopefully he fights wisely, the bloke he is fighting i do not know much about but he has a high knockout percentage so should be interesting. Overall its a great card.

Berto Guererro on Boxnation should be a top fight as well, again if Guererro fights as he can i could see him getting a pts victory, but if he gets into a ruck Berto could knock him out, should be a great fight.

  5. Cleverley looked impressive, great body shots on a tough but very limited opponent. I used to love Buncey on Setanta but really struggle to listen to him now, talks over everyone, he needs someone to reign him in and not Richard Keys either who seems like he knows fuck all about boxing and doesnt want to be there. Get Andy Kerr back.

As impressive as Wladimers record looks i can see why people are frustrated with him, but to say he couldnt handle the crack heeds from the 80's is ridiculous.

As for seeing a Haye rematch, it's definately something i would not stump up 15quid for again, but who else is there? If Haye fought with a bit more fire in his belly i still believe he could have a really good chance of upsetting things.

  6. Miz is the worst person ever to be in the real main event of Wrestlemania. When he is a talking head he looks like some geek fan of the street, never had a really great match, never cut a memorable promo, shite look, goofy teeth, shite barnet etc.... i can understand why Punk and others do think he is shite. Just because he done alot of PR work for the WWE it doesnt make him worthy either.

  7. Redeption (redemption) - Ricky Hatton comeback tribute. Excellent.

I saw the Enzo fight, as much as it was stopped early, i do still think he looked vulnerable, underweight and gaunt for his height, i do think he needs to quit, bad stoppage mind. I love the Deacon Blue entrance of Paul Smith - although i did miss lastnigts, great tune, i did see the fight and think he looked overweight and nt great.

  8. Great Marvin Hagler tribute. Theres quite a few of them on the links but i like this one to the Rocky tune. I think if i had have been around at the time Hagler would have been my favourite. He looked so cool and predicted an aura of menace second to none. I don't know how the WWE say someone cannot be world champ due to their size etc...when look at people like Hagler, Duran, Tyson etc....

On a side note, i am getting bored of seeing Froch's crooked nose all over ringside every week. I know Rickys going to be on primetime but they still should have him on the show instead of filling half hour with amatuer stuff and the undercard of the Bute fight.

Theres a Tyson special next thursday which should be good, although Tyson can be uncomfortable to watch at times and i dont want to see Big Johnny sucking him off again like he did before, nearly crying and shaking his hand telling him he saved his life - in the build up to the haye klitchko fight.

I as thinking as well that Cleverley needs to move on from Frank Warren, he is at the prime years of his boxing and hes fighting some bloke i have never heard of who i think has lst 4 of his last 5 - they keep dangling the carrot of hopkins as well, what a load of shit, even if he beats hopkins it means nothing, he's nearly 50 and hasnt looked decent in years. He needs to move on and fight cloud or shumenov, even pascal - he is at that weight now isnt he. I would fancy him against all of them at the moment due to his speed and punch resistance.

  9. i look forward to watching that chacon limon fight cheers.

I watched the barry mcguigan documentary on itv4 and thought it was brilliant, him v pedrosa is the first match i really remember watching live as a kid, with my parents being born one in the north and the other quite near the border on the south i was always aware of the political issues going on in ireland and have great respect for mcguigan not wearing either flag and endorsing himself to most of the north and the south during his run. He seemed such a respectful young chap with his Mr Eastwood catchphrase, i do remember that song as well.

I find his career does mirror hattons somewhat, to hugely popular young pressure fighters, who won the title of ageing greats, eventually lost the titles, fell out with their managers, ended up in court and both eventually making a comeback.

I watched the witter gavin fight and it was as i expected very very boring, i did think gavin would win on pts and he did, i just think being 10 yrs younger he should have upped the pace from the start. I'm not at all convinced by gavin either, nothing he has shown me so far puts him reaching above domestic level, i may be wrong. I do get fed up with boxers who have bad performances recently continually going on about personal problems outside of the ring, that may be a bit harsh but i think it is used as an excuse nowadays for poor performances or boxers being shown that they are not as good as they thught they were.

The whole gavin witter card was shit - that bloke from scunthorpe is a top cock, the footie hooligan who was fighting on the card, i think he fought the good looking italian chap frank bulogni or whatever his name is last time.

I watched bute lastnight and he didnt look good at all, while he was fighting at light heavy and an undefeated fighter he should have done better, the bloke only had 14 or so fights and made bute look scared at times with all his holding, the last round saved bute somewhat from what was a very poor performance in my eyes, i will be very suprised if he does fight froch next as on that perdormance froch would do more of the sme to him.

the Wladimer fight is on espn next sat night at 10pm and i thin cleverly is on boxnation later on - does anyone know if he has an opponent yet?

  10. Theres a point in the Calzaghe Kessler fight in round 12 where lampley or kellerma says "Kessler is fighting like an animal" and Steward casually says " yeh but i like that" always loved that piece of commentary from him.

As theres no boxing on tonight, have a butchers at the ultimate 12 round war below, the best ever rounds 1-12 of individual fights. Watching Morales in rnd 5 with the speed and accuracy he has, its a shame seeing him plodding and slow last week, from what i have seen of him, what a fighter. Round one obviousley needa a mention, as does 9 - my personal favourite round ever. Great viewing.

great trailer, if this doesnt get the blood rushing through the veins i do not know what will. I assume its from hbo as they are showing the hatton comeback - hatton comeback trailer.

  11. Yeh theres some good fights on boxnation tonight and Sky Sports, the fight i am most looking forward to though is Kenny Andersn v Robin Reid, can see that being a right good ruck. Anderson has to be one of the most intimadating men on the planet, there was an interview with him on ringside and even Big johnny said he was a scary man.

I dont know much about Malinagis opponent but you got to think if Malinagi wins and Hatton wins his fight then a rematch is surely on the cards although i am not sure at what weight.

There was talk of Morales beng tested positive for something or other but that has not materialised, i imagine Garcia will win this one as well, can see him stopping him late, Morales looked really good in parts of the first fight but age caught up with him.

I struggle to get excited by Kell Brook, despite his last fight being very good. Apparently he is saying he has alot more power now he has changed his training methods, so i am hoping for a Brook KO. I do think this will be a good fight though, Argentinians like good old ruck - count the number of times jim watt says crude in reference to the Argie fighter

  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmF1wt3U1gc

first ever american wrestling match i ever seen, screened on itv when i was waiting for big daddy to come on. hogan v savage. could not believe my luck when this came on instead. people forget how great the hulkster was, quite simply the best ever - along with austin. he looks like a superhero with his ripped top at the back, i always prefered the hulkster in white. the crowd are ace.-wow! savage - legend. he looked brilliant in light blue as well. i remeber hulk v harly race turned up as well at a later date, the strike force v the hart foundation as well.

  13. Yeh although i have bet on Audley and did get carried away with his talk last week, after watching all of the build up i do think Price will do him. Audley can have a half decent defence at times so i don't think Price will take him out early. I look for price to use his jab early, quickly and consistantly, once he has settled in a bit i can see him varying his punches, he does have god digs to the ribs. Then can see him taking him out around 6 or 7. Audley always has his shades on in interviews to hide his eyes, it's as if he thinks his eyes will give him away and people will see through all the shte he is talking.

  14. I know this might seem really absurd but i have a feeling Fraudley may knock Price out, i really hope he doesnt but i just have a feeling this lump will knock him out. I have put a quid on an Audley knockout in every round, it ranges from 50 to 80/1 odds and a few quid on Audley any method at 11/2.

Degale is on ch5 next week as well, should be a good night of boxing.

Brook is on the following week with Jamie Mcdonell on the undercard. I really like Mcdonell, like Ricky Burns he seems a really nice chap.

I watched Ringside, good stuff, Khan seemed a bit of a dick to me, wether it was just hyping a future fight or not i don't know. Khan seems to think he is in the elite of Boxing when he clearly isnt. In saying that he did have a point that Brook has really been in with no one world class. Would be an interesting fight.

On a different note, it amazes me how all the boxers who have been on Ringside go on about how great Ricky Hatton looks etc.....but no one has ever mentioned that Hattons punch resistance may have gone. I really want Hatton to succeed on his comeback but fear the worst. His style is not built for longevity and being 34 yrs old with over 40 fights under his belt and not having fought for 3 and a half years i really fear the worst.

  15. Great post. Lewis was/is my second favourite british boxer - after Benn. Personally i think he is the greatest heavyweight of all time. What i mean by that is, that in his prime he would beat any other heavyweight against there prime, past or present. I just think he had everything, size, speed, strength, great array of punches. He would have been to big for the smaller heavyweights and to quick and powerful for the larger heavyweights.

Watching Ringside at the mo. Khan and Kell Brook and Audley on, good show.

This is a great and very heated debut especally considering the time of it, with blood and that. I remember watching this on a thursday night on sky many a moon ago. Would be great if someone done a top ten or 20 foriegn baddies thread.

  17. Great night of Boxing tonight with Burns Mitchell being the highlight for me. Should be a really interesting fight. I cannot see Mitchell outworking Burns therefore i am leaning towards Burns to win on points, maybe even climbng of the deck to do so. Saying that i have had a
