So many questions. Why go through all that promotion and build-up for Taker to say about two sentences just confirming what the promotion was promoting? What was with that weird electronic theme intro, was that a sound fuck-up? Why didn't Taker lift the lights up/on? Felt like another mess-up to me. Why bring out all these old guys with a history of health problems, flying them in from god knows where during a terrible pandemic, for them to only hug each other over and over? And most importantly, where were the Godfather's hos?
Weirdly the only thing that felt right to me was Vince's words - he didn't seem to stumble much over them and they felt genuine, like this really was a huge psychological change for the entire company. I don't know if it is, but the segment for me summed up everything it has been in recent times - flat, pointless, nonsensical, over-produced, and dangerous for no reason. -
Fantastic main event (Io Shirai v Rhea Ripley for the women's title), NXT made it feel big-time and the match was unpredictable all the way to the end so very much worth a watch if you don't know the result. And another fine Pat McAfee performance too.
-
Kenny Omega v Sonny Kiss was brilliant, perfect even. The entrance, the match, the aftermath. I thought that would be my highlight but then Jericho/MJF... bloody hell. Laughed my face off. I just couldn't believe they went there, good on them for trying at least!
I also had never seen Eddie Kingston until Dynamite and he's great, loved Moxley's promo too.
I only watch BTE for Silver's bits and was chuffed to see him running wild in the main event! -

I skimmed through the show earlier and I agree the parts with Dain and Drake were amusing. Was annoyed with how they were using Drake but it clicked in this episode. Good stuff.
But mostly things are not holding my attention in NXT and Iâm gradually using the time to watch more of Dynamite instead and not skip through that so much.

System doesn't really work for Undertaker, unless you only focus on certain eras. He's been wildly different in the three categories over the decades, well maybe not in promos.
First 3 names that came to mind to try this:
Charlotte Flair
Look - 9
Promos - 5
Work - 8
Mark Henry
Look - 7
Promos - 10 (I only remember one but it was perfect, you know the one!)
Work - 6
Mr.Perfect
Look - 9
Promos - 7
Work - 10 -

Was written off TV to have surgery on a torn pec at the end of May, by being involved in the car accident that Sheamus perpetrated to attempt to frame a "drunk" Jeff Hardy.
Expected back around the turn of the year, so wouldn't be shocked if he pops back up in the Rumble - at which point you'd hope they remember to feud him with Sheamus.
Holy moly I missed all that completely. It's a shame we already know who hit him wit a car then! Unless Sheamus was persuaded by a higher power...

Where is Elias? I totally forgot he was a thing until two minutes ago.

I think I've scraped together a fairly watchable show here!
#1 Contender Fatal 4-Way Match
Rodney Mack vs Riddick Moss vs Ricky Morton vs Repo Man
Beauties v Beasts Tag Team Tornado Grudge Match
Raul Mendoza & Rick "The Model" Martel w/Rosa Mendes
vs Robbie & Rory McAllister
'Rassling Mountain Championship
Rey Mysterio v Rocky Maivia -
If Roy Jones Jr drops out, I demand to see Mike Tyson vs The Undertaker! I bet Taker is still training for something, anything, in secret - y'know, just in case.
-
No idea who Pat McAfee is and didn't watch the last couple of weeks with the punt, but god damn what a promo he pulled off. In comparison to everything else in WWE-land these days anyway. Good work, that man.

I was just about to post if anyone else finds the term "WWE" a bit awkward and doesn't slip off the tongue like "WWF" did.
I keep thinking i'll get used to it, but after 20 years? Fucking hell.
It's awkward because it's still referred to as "the WWE", which makes no sense. The World Wrestling Entertainment. On screen they should have ditched saying "the" eventually, once they got used to it.
Count me in as another who thought 2005 was a great year in WWE. There was the Rockers reunion as well! -
Rusev and Big E should have been this generation's Rock and Austin. Fuck sake.
-
I advise people not to watch the screen right after the end of McIntyre/Lashley. I tend not to notice the terrible camera cuts between all the performers and fans in general but here I thought my eyes were going to explode.
-
It's a really good match. I didn't actually like Bryan/Styles that much, maybe because of the ad breaks and the flat (to me) ending. So this for me was the best WWE match of the week at least. But I agree with Supes, the "crowd noise" was so distracting. I wanted them to try and play with crowd noise at some point during the empty arena shows, maybe find a solution, but it didn't work here. Samoa Joe did work, though. Has he been secretly training to be a commentator for years? Because it bloody feels like it.

For this to be the greatest wrestling match ever for me personally (and I'm going down the sports entertainment route), there's unfortunately going to have to be run-ins or some sort of appearance from Christian, Bob Orton, Legacy (now Cody showing up WOULD be something...), Lita, Beth Pheonix (cat fight!), Evolution, Mick Foley spitting in Orton's face, and ending with John Cena spearing Edge through a table while wearing a motorcycle helmet. There ya go, done!

Top marks for Britt Baker's rehab session. Fantastic work!

I'm just trying to imagine Brock Lesnar dressed up as Amish Roadkill now. I think he could pull it off!
-
I loved Amish Roadkill!
I still couldn't tell you why, though. He looked like the least-daft one standing next to ECW tag partner Danny Doring, and I liked his name. That's all you need!
Reading up about his later career on Wikipedia, he seemed to have a bit a stint under different names in OVW until 2008 and even got an IC title match there against Santino Marella, supposedly. Good lad.
The first guy to pop into my head here, though, was Yokozuna. He was great. There were definitely reasons to hate on him but during that early 1993 stint, 9-year-old me was fucking terrified. Even if it only took two minutes for Hogan to ruin his entire aura. -
Just got through the show now. I want to watch the main event again immediately but I also don't want to go back and start nit-picking. It was amazing! There were so many funny and surprising parts that if you wait a while before re-watching, some of it will surprise all over again. I honestly think it has zoomed straight into my top 5 favourite matches of all time. That they managed it even though I don't give a shit about many of the participants was even more impressive. Standing ovation for all those who worked to put this thing together. đ
-
What a super video. I honestly haven't watched a second of the guy outside WWE, and yet I think I'll cry whatever happens with him and Kushida this week! đ
-
The final line on Raw this week was laugh-out-loud hilarious. Don't miss it!
-
I knew absolutely nothing of Dino Bravo outside of the WWF so it was interesting to catch a small glimpse of his career before that. Admittedly though the episode peaked with, "You know who I am! I'MÂ THE MOUNTIE!"

Does anyone on here live in Vietnam?
I do, although at the opposite end of the country. Licensing laws as you'd expect here are a bit madcap, any family can just seemingly steal any old logo or shop name and throw it up on their front door and shazam, you have a new coffee shop. It's mostly seen with tourist agency shops, where a couple of places will flat-out just call their company exactly the same as the legit successful one down the street. đ But WWE is almost non-existent here so that's a new one to me!

The only other notable bit for me was right before the Omega interview, when the show's world champion Rich Swann wasn't allowed into the parking lot, and he just accepted it and sulked off. What a loser!
