  1. So far online I have mostly been getting killed. Playing the good guy in story mode has not prepared me for the online atmosphere. I have not enjoyed the very early missions.Ā What should be straightforward (steal a wagon, return it to the guy) turns into aĀ boring death-respawn-death-respawn-they blow up the wagon-mission over cycle. Trying not to moan about it too much right now though knowing these things could be reworked over time.

  2. Just got to the start of the epilogue. Man, what a story it has been. I felt mostly sad through parts of it, in a good way I guess. As I got closer and closer to what I figured would be the endgame I started playing in shorter bursts, just a mission then off again, because I didnā€™t want it to come. IĀ had to legit switch itĀ off and go for a walkĀ because everythingā€™s changed and I wasnā€™t ready for it, even though I knew it was coming. Pretty cool that a game can make you feel these things.

And yet, Iā€™ve still barely touched so many parts of it. I havenā€™t crafted a thing, not carried out sessions of simply fishing or hunting, have barely found any treasure or taken down gang hideouts...plenty still to explore. šŸ˜Š

I liked the fishing trip in the boat, that was fun- the good guys rowing out and having a laugh

I came here to mention this very sceneĀ - my favouriteĀ so far which made me smile. And it was an optional task, I'm glad I took it on. Fishing was rock bottom on my list of things I was looking forward to in the game but after a couple of goes I really enjoy it, weird!

My good guy schtick is generally going to plan so far, until one little accident with the controls. In the weird scene underneath a gun shop, they give you different controls for some reason when handling weapons - I pressed the wrong one and the guy who really shouldn't have been dying got his chest caved in at close range. Whoops.

  4. I echo the praise above. Iā€™m still early in the story, having just done the Javier Escuella mission trying to rescue Sean. In my last session Iā€™m getting ever closer to feeling at home with the controls, getting faster with the weapon/item wheels etc. It really makes all the difference. Iā€™m glad Iā€™ve avoided all story spoilers because Iā€™m so excited to see what happens. Using the cinematic camera on someĀ journeys with the gang and just sitting back and watching/listeningĀ is amazing too.

The aforementioned talk/aim button issue, I can confirm, hasnā€™t actually happened to me once. I havenā€™t gone out of my way to be unarmed when riding or walking around busy places but thatā€™s whatā€™s happened mainly. I am trying to play super nice guy though on my first play-through so that probably helps.

When I say super nice, I mean I hogtie people and cut them free after I loot them, rather than shoot ā€˜em. šŸ˜•

Oh, and my horse is called Mariposa. šŸ˜Š

I heard a reviewer refer to it as a game you have to play in 5 hour chunks and it absolutely is.

Yep definitely. I just got it a couple of days ago and have only managed two 2-hour stints with it so far and itā€™s just not enough. I got through the opening section but was so overwhelmed with what to do first and not knowing how long missions were with my short time allowance, I just switched it off and beat people upĀ with Lesnar on 2K19 instead šŸ˜‚

This issue about holding the same buttonĀ for initiatingĀ a talkĀ and aiming a weapon though is annoying. I donā€™t get it. I never saw the issue crop up on reviews or articles so far. There must be a knack to it somehow but Iā€™m not far enough into it yet to see how it affects me.

  6. Gahhhhh I canā€™t pick up a console, TV and the game until November 1st, Iā€™m torturing myself watching all the new (non-spoilery) gameplay videos. Gonna have to find a new hobby to distract me. For a week.

I don't watch NXT but caught the clip of Alastair Black kicking the fuck out of all the security guys from this week's show and he looked like a badass megastar.

Yeah it was awesome. That type of attackĀ has potential to look really crap if missed, and it must be a high possibility of the kicks not connecting that well and cameras not being able to hideĀ it, but in that difficult "storm the building" type situation, and then with Lars in the ring, fucking hell it was great.

  8. That was a great way to take something terrible and use it to boost someone else. I loved the ending to the show. The main event scene we've had for a while now is gone. It will be interesting to see if Drew can push forward, if Ziggler can maintain his decent performances with something else, and if Braun is going back to the face status he had a while back. The Elias/Corbin segment was also great! Very amusing.

  9. I cannot wait for this. I haven't owned a console for 3 years but hoping to pick one up in the next month or so, mainly for this game. In the past IĀ always preferred Xbox over PS3/4 but now I'm not sure what to go for. Exclusive games aren't important to me although I was a huge fan of Ratchet & Clank and want to play the 2016 PS4 version. But then there's the Forza games on the Xbox that I'd love too. I think accessibility will swing it - the country I'm in seems to be around 95% PS4 gamers, 5% Xboxers. Don't want to look like a saddo.

Anyway, yes this looks fucking great! Been watching all the videos and discussions about what it could be like, without straying into spoiler territory. I'm pretty sure RDR1 is my favourite game of all-time. Top 3 for sure. But youĀ gotta believe the sequel is going to blow its balls off. Eeeeeeek!

My main takeaway from that video is that the latest edition of the WWE video game looks basically exactly the same as the last WWE video game release I bought, in 2016. Have the games had any significant changes either graphically or gameplay wise in years or what?

I believe they've generally sped up the gameplay - it was getting real cumbersome the last two years. A few new gameplay modes and elements added too, but probably not all that different on the whole.

  11. We need a modern Hollywood Rock - I'm thinking "The Billion Dollar Man" Dwayne Johnson, who shows up to Raw with a massive Saudi entourage and suitcases of cash, and asks Vince and/or Triple H what their price is to buy the Universal Title off them. Pretend the next Saudi event is a Rock creation he's set up just for a laugh. Have him go around offering wads of cash to WWE superstars to compete atĀ his event. Roman sticks up for WWE even though Rocky offers him a role in Doom 2 or whatever. I admit noneĀ of this wouldĀ get Roman cheered. I just wanna see the Rock act like a prick again...!

  12. That was maybeĀ the best reaction to a cheap city-specific diss thereā€™s ever been. What a mad reaction, and Elias and Owens struggled to deal with it. It feltĀ like theyĀ had to get the Cena stuff over so couldnā€™t do much to cut things short or respond properly toĀ the fans.

Those Champions Scramble matches were really enjoyable, why have they only done two on the same night and none since?

Bruce Pritchard mentioned it a couple of podcasts ago, saying the scramble was their hope for a new themed PPV but the rules were a bit convoluted, andĀ I guess VinceĀ just didn't like the resultĀ enough to keep or even tweak it. I thought they did do at least one more scramble match on another show but I can't find anything about it.

  14. The maddest thing for me was the Lashley/Elias segment. I almost spat out my coffee when the reveal of Bobby prancing around going "tweet tweet tweet" after Elias called him slow and simple was....BobbyĀ getting attacked from behind. How do you make him look any more of a goof.

I was happy with the Lesnar stuff. That must be the most he's talked in this whole post-2012 run. "We want Roman" chants aren't easy to get these days so well done to everyone concerned, I say.

  16. A random thought indeed popped into my head today - what would a 3-hour NXT "all-star" PPV show be like? An event in a decent arena with past and present NXT stars up against each other forĀ one night only. I'm trying to think who would get on the card, what the main event would be,Ā and if it'd even work.

  17. It was a fun episode, I actually skipped the War Raiders match, I've watched their initial stuff so far and not that interested yet. That guy Richochet beat had a couple of mad spots for a guy his size, and yep the flip out of the ring was ace. I love Bianca Belair. The piece on her life was maybe too long and detailed but at least we know who she is. Looking at the guys that have moved up to Raw, who is No Way Jose? Who are the Authors of Pain? We've no idea what they're really about, just shoved onto the show and forced to sink or swim.

It's dreadful. Braun's delivery of "He's in the fourth grade" was good but the whole thing is a terrible, terrible "gag". Two months ago, Strowman should have been the main event of WrestleMania. Now he's so fucking lame. He's over, can't argue with that but that doesn't always mean good.

Oh I agree the whole thing is a terrible gag. I just thought as a standalone scene it was funny. Strowman is somehow getting away with the garbage he's been given, but I'm not sure how long that'll last.
