  1. The only other time I've watched NXT UK was when Pete Dunne took on Walter. Only based on people on here saying the build up shows were excellently produced, I randomly put on the Tyler Bate/Walter main event to pass some time. It was a bit longer than expected! As mentioned already in here, wow even with not knowing the full story, they kept you invested. Bate is an absolute machine and I was about to say he's gonna struggle in the WWE machine at that size but, if he happens to be Daniel Bryan-type size, who knows huh? He may not be anything special on the mic at such a young age but Bryan wasn't known for that either until he started being outlandish with Kane in WWE. Good luck to him, he's impressive as hell.

So far online I have mostly been getting killed. Playing the good guy in story mode has not prepared me for the online atmosphere. I have not enjoyed the very early missions.Ā What should be straightforward (steal a wagon, return it to the guy) turns into aĀ boring death-respawn-death-respawn-they blow up the wagon-mission over cycle. Trying not to moan about it too much right now though knowing these things could be reworked over time.

When Red Dead online first came out I used my 14-day PS Plus trial and as mentioned above, I hated it. Fast-forward to now, having read there was a proper defensive mode and obvious additions now it's out of beta, I've given it a second chance finally. So far, I'm finding it much more enjoyable. First off I had 7 months' worth of Rockstar goodies waiting for me at the post office since I hadn't been online that whole time! After a few days I've only been kicked offline once, which for my location and terrible connectivity in general is really good. There's a big update coming this month setting out three distinct roles for players, if they want to focus more on bounty-hunting, collecting rarities,Ā or setting up a tradeĀ (or all three). Anyway, much improved so far!

Josh Barnett is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion andĀ wrestled for New Japan in 2003 & 2004. He was a particular favourite of Antonio Inoki and also for Inokiā€™s IGF. The Bloodsport concept is like the old UWFi (or indeed the movie, Bloodsport),Ā Ā where itā€™s part work-part shoot

Yeah I just looked up the line-ups of the previous Bloodsports, sounds pretty interesting!

I'd love these two to essentially be liaisons between the writers and Vince

Isn't why they brought Bruce Prichard back in not long ago? What happened with that? I've not been paying 100% attention to backstage comings and goings.

  5. Iā€™ve only seen the Jarvis match mentioned, but is he everĀ late to his matches? Like saunter into the arena during the introductions, or even after the bell rings and they start a 10-count? If he canā€™t be arsed, he should be showing up late sometimes... :)

Listening to it now. We knew most of the Lesnar Mania "missed opportunity" reasons but it's pretty sad hearing about it from Moxley's point of view. It was the perfect match to be so different from a normal WWE match (in that era) and from a usual Brock match, and the idea for the start of itĀ I love, but it just...got...nothing.

  7. Yeah of course. Like I say, a few will still feel like him though. ManyĀ people can work forever and not have/need a passion for that vocation. But for some, as Moxley said, no amount of zeroes on his contract would have persuaded him to stay. I'm probably not going to latch onto AEW but I hope he gets the freedom and happiness he's after and I'm sure he will.

  8. Great podcast, worth a listen as already mentioned. On the flipside, you gotta be kinda impressed with the mental toughness that must be found in the guys that actually remain in WWE. Of course there are upsides and they've got a lot to be thankful for etc., but so many of the talents must feel exactly the same as Moxley, love "wrestling" just as much,Ā are having that passion seep outĀ fromĀ them, yet will fight on regardless.

  9. It was the semi-final, Gargano faked an injury (ages into a competitive match), Ciampa lost, then he tried to do the same to Johnny on the ramp that he did way back when, and Gargano reversed it. Candice was on the ramp too, delighted with what her hubby did to evil Ciampa. Then Trips came out the following week and said Ciampa was injured and he can't make them face each other for the title at Takeover. I knew Ciampa was injured (didn't know how bad) but why wasn't it kayfabe because of what Gargano did to him? They still aired it yet went on toĀ pretendĀ it didn't happen. That's what irked me the most. A rare misstep by NXT storytelling, for me.

  10. Loved the show. I like Mauro, maybe it sounds off to some people because the two sitting next to him sound so dull. And I lost count of the amount of times Nigel tripped over his words. But it always sounds like Mauro'sĀ fucking enjoying it and it can help rub off onto others. I agree about the last 10 minutes of the main event, which included the best, most convincing near-fall I can ever remember. "That's it, that's definitely it," I said aloud and I was 101% sure of it. They had me certainĀ on the winner, but yet it continued. Fantastic!

Matt Riddle is growing on me, but still more to do. That was the first War Raiders match I've actually paid attention to, and I loved it. Same with Walter, I don't watch NXT UK but the bout was very entertaining.

  11. As the three ladies were being carted off to the backĀ I said aloud "This is fucking stupid" which, considering how much WWE I've watched, is not something I really do. But then....then the backstage stuff happened. I laughed my ass off. It was still stupid but it was entertaining, hilarious stupid. I'm trying to picture how they discussed coming up with the whole thing before the show, having their three Mania main eventers just kick away at each other while being carried out the building like petulant brats. It doesn't sound like it could ever work. Not toĀ mention using the whole handcuffs/arrest stuff again so soon. But, simply, it was really amusing stuff. As usual, no point over-thinking these things really...

  12. Not sure why people can be so down on it - I loved the whole thing. A good show to watch without knowing spoilers beforehand, I had no idea how the end was gonna play out, no idea about the returns and the special guests etc. Pretty entertaining all round, I thought.

  13. I was watching a Raw review thing on YouTube where the subject again came up about wrestlers wearing their gear backstage when they're not listed to compete. I hadn't thought about it until now but, kayfabe-speaking, shouldn't all faces be in their gear because they're ready to compete at a moment's notice against anyone, and all heels should be in jeans or a suit so they can make the excuse of not being ready? Has/does this actually happen in any promotion?

  14. EC3: ā€œAlright, what do you have lined up for my big main roster debut?ā€

ā€Get in your gear. Stand outside Vinceā€™s office with all the jobbers pleading for a chance,Ā and when the interviewer stands next to you and the camera is right on you...donā€™t say a thing.ā€

    EC3: ā€œNice one,Ā chief!ā€

How are you getting on with Fire Pro? Was it the UK PS store that you ordered it from?

Yeah Iā€™m based in Asia but my PS account is BritishĀ so I use the UK store. Iā€™ve had to read a lot to figure out exactly how to play, as I knew all about the game history but had never actually played it. The learning curve is great for someone on my level. Iā€™ve been messing about with a few mates and although they donā€™t know/care about the logic and the ā€œrealā€ fighters they enjoy the silly CAWs and the timing aspect of the gameplay. I only yesterday just started ā€œcareerā€ mode so Iā€™ve still tons to do. Big thumbs up from me.

  16. Got rid of that fucking WWE game and bought Fire Pro (it was half price on PS Store today), it's so much fun already. Downloaded hundreds of CAWS before I actually played any of it!Ā Even got my non-fan housemate into it immediately after a quick run-through of the controls, he picked it up quicker than I did.

I have no PS4 friendsĀ :/Ā so if anyone wants to add me or punch horses on Red Dead etc my gamertag is QuentinZulu...

Fuck online, I'll moan about it as you can see it'll be pay to win garbage like how GTA V became. The in-game economy is already one hell of a grind to the point it's no fun so just wait till you can buy cash.

Yeah that sounds right I suppose - I only played GTAV online for the first year or so, so I canā€™t compare what it turned into really.
