Tito's not gonna do numbers for this sadly either though. It's a real shame in a respect that Bellator just don't have one major star in the publics eye over here, the brand name doesn't sell anywhere near like the UFC's either.

 

They were never going to do huge numbers anyway. I was confused as to why they were doing the UK event to begin with, especially considering the fact that they've not even really cracked their home market yet.

 

 

Agree with that, but would've understood it more if they'd picked a better sized venue. The O2 was always going to be too big for them.

Look at it positively Chunk, either it's gonna be cancelled and you'll get a refund, Bellator find a replacement or you'll have your tickets bumped up a tier or two if they're giving free ones out I'd imagine. First ever Bellator card over here to, so at least it's a historical thing. Your fucked if you bought cage side though.

Even if it does go ahead, the card will probably be shit and the people sitting next to me will probably have got their tickets for free.

Just caught up with the last Bellator. I actually think it's a good result for them. Bendo can go down a weight class now and brush the loss off as a weight class thing, meanwhile Koreshkov has been made to look like a beast.

Hopefully we can move on from it now. There hasn't been any new news on it for days and yet it's still the most talked about thing in MMA.

Looks like there wasnt much of a rush for bellator tickets. Can get on the ticket site easy and theres 6 seats together in more or less every block.

Considering UFC sold it out in under an hour that's pretty dissapointing for Bellator. Not even selling plenty of seats dotted round the venue going by your 6 seats together.

 

 

I think the tickets are 25% too expensive. A cheap seat at £45 is a big ask. There aren't many bad seats in the O2 but a cage is a small thing to be looking at. £45 to basically watch two blobs moving around on the horizon is a big ask. Saying that, I did buy a ticket, but I can see why a lot of people won't bother. A cheap seat at £30 would've been a much better price point, I think.

Can't get it the now but Coker had an image on twitter yesterday of a huge advert for the London show on the side of a building, presumably somewhere in London. Taking this dead serious by the looks of it.

 

It's in the city near Aldgate. I walked past it the day after the show got announced but didn't think to take a photo. They didn't hang around getting that up there!

Went for it and bought a ticket yesterday. Straight in without any hassle on the AXS site ... unlike when buying tickets for the last London UFC show.

Perfect. I'd effectively made one of my own by subscribing and using the "Content I follow" function ... well happy with that decision.

Conqueror of DADA-5000, Kimbo Slice, will be taking on James "Colossus" Thompson in a rematch of their ELITEXC classic from a few years back in the main event of the Bellator London show. A fight to get excited about, this one.

Cage Warriors on Premier Sports for all 2 people in the UK that have it this Friday @ 9PM. There TV deal is completely fucked and there's little info on there website about it. Looks like Premier have dropped ONE FC to as there's no live show this Friday.

Was tempted to go along to the event but timing doesn't work. Think I'll save my money for a Bellator ticket instead - if they every announce their event, that is!

Haven't seen myself yet but by all accounts the UR show was dogshite. Hardly sold a live ticket, the grappling match was a dire draw, apparently they didn't switch the mics of in time and Sean Wheelock says something along the lines of "I'm the biggest grappling nerd in the building and that was horrendous." The boxing match was as expected a joke and that was about it.

 

Based on how seriously (or not) Bisping was taking it on the MMA Hour, that isn't a shock. Less than a week out and he wasn't even sure on the rules of the fight.

Van Clief was indeed in his 50's

 

Initially, he was denied entry from the tournament for being too old. However, Van Clief and some of his students showed up at the UFC's head office, and deployed some intimidation tactics. They clearly worked.

 

Didn't he go on to be a commissioner or something similar for the UFC?

How is Bisping cleared but Shamrock isn't? Shamrock got hit in the nuts. Bisping got battered for 5 rounds.

 

Is it purely because the Bisping / Sonnen fight is non-contact?
