  1. She looks closer to Manson than Monroe.

She visited my school somewhere around the mid-90s, filming an episode of "Go Getters" for CITV. One lad cheekily asked for her phone number and she told him to "fack orf", which possibly wasn't too professional of her but I guess it's close enough to what you'd expect. Loads of us also saw Carol Smillie in her bra and knickers as she was getting changed in the back of a van, apparently not expecting a bunch of kids to run out of their lessons to see what was going on. Or perhaps that's *exactly* what she was expecting. Who knows.

  2. If there's a second time, maybe ask her if she can give your name to the people in the coffee shop then they can make your drink when you arrive instead of making it straight away and leaving it there to get cold.

The whole [one artist] x [another artist] when they collaborate on a song.

It’s and or an ampersand. You don’t multiply Simon by Garfunkel, you bellends.

This unfortunately also extends to wrestling matches. A couple of local promotions have recently advertised [one wrestler] x [another wrestler], which made me feel slightly ill. I get that they've done it to seem all hip and with it, and the majority of people don't actually think about what they're looking at so barely anyone will even notice, but besides the fact that "vs" didn't even need replacing, swapping it for an x - which is intended to denote an amicable crossover between two parties - makes it seem like the wrestlers are going to be teaming up rather than pretending to fight each other. It's fucking bollocks.

Just back from seeing Pulp in Sheffield. Bloody excellent gig, and seeing Richard Hawley as the support act was brilliant too.

Same here, absolutely tremendous stuff. Pulp provided the soundtrack to my teenage years, so getting to see them again brought back loads of boss memories. The setlist was pretty much perfect, it sounded great, and it was one of the nicest crowds I've ever been in, too. It really just felt like a massive properly good-natured party. Ten out of ten all round.

Is there a roadmap for the development of the game? I'm very surprised at the lack diversity in the CAW menu's from what I've seen. And no uploading CAW's? That is a huge part of the community and longevity of any great wrestling game.

I'm salty, I'd planned to spend the weekend (my birthday!) Playing it but the microtransactions and lack of Caw stuff has put me off.

Doesn't look like it warrants the price tag.

Earlier this morning you'd decided you weren't buying it because of the paid DLC. If you've only managed to find extea stuff to grumble about since then, I'd probably suggest saving your money.

Just some Stalnox which was piss easy but it means I have to dig the bastard out of the rocks for ten minutes again, I don't think the drops were worth it knowing that they'll break in seconds anyway.

This is the thing that spoils the game for me (and did for Breath of the Wild, too). There rarely seems any point in making the effort to do anything that might be even slightly tricky, because you know you'll only get the benefit of whatever reward you get for a few minutes before it's gone.

Having said that, I'm enjoying Tears more than BOTW. The world seems brighter, the characters are better, the quests feel a bit more involved, and I've not once slipped off a cliff because it started raining when I've almost reached the top. The sky and depths add a bit of variety which I always felt BOTW was lacking, too. It's a 7 out of 10 compared to BOTW's 6.

  7. Lovely news - more free PowerWash Simulator DLC arrives next Wednesday! They've also announced physical copies will be available from June 13th, and a 2023 roadmap has been revealed...

The Muckingham Files (Update 1.2) – Coming April 18th 2023
Players may remember the mysterious Mauka Aitu Desert from jobs in the base game, where they were tasked with cleaning an ancient statue, an imposing monument and an old steam train. Well, it's not just full of aged relics but also home to some more advanced technology – namely a Solar Water Plant and a huge Satellite Dish. It's down to you to dust off all that sand, for a satisfyingly sparkly finish.

A short reprieve from the dry, dusty desert will transport players back to the lush green of Muckingham's recreation ground, where a filthy food truck is spoiling the view. Once you've finished, it'll be the shimmering centrepiece of the park. For those looking to brush up on local lore, the pre-existing bonus jobs have had new stories added that supplement (whilst not continuing) the main story – bringing them in line with this update and any future updates in the Muckingham universe. Replay them for more tales and trivia from your favourite filthy town.

  8. See also Michael Cole saying "kicks at two" when referring to someone who has just escaped from a pin. Why the need to drop the "out"? It's especially annoying if the person has just raised a shoulder up, without any kicking motion involved whatsoever.

Mini Motorways has replaced Vampire Survivors as the game I waste far too much of my time with. I'm not sure why I like it, exactly - if you've not played it, it involves you building roads between buildings to keep traffic flowing - but there's something so engrossing and relaxing about it. I'd highly recommend it.

I couldn't quite get the hang of Mini Motorways, but I can definitely vouch for its predecessor, Mini Metro. It's the same sort of game, except you're faffing about with train tracks instead of roads. Connect stations, add bridges, throw in a few upgrades to carry more passengers, and generally make sure everything's moving along as smoothly as possible. It's really quite lovely.

Ann told me you can get Wafer Creams in Home Bargains. Some mixed messages here from Ann.

You want either Home Bargains or Farm Foods for Wafer Creams, she told me. Did anyone else's email have noticeably peculiar spacing? She does that thing where she writes proper nouns in block capitals, too. Still, lovely lady.

9 days since that sweet, sweet email from Ann. No sign of tea cakes.

Biggest case of gaslighting since Pat last had a moan.

In the email I received this morning, on the subject of Wafer Creams (I said I wasn't aware of them until seeing them on the Tunnocks website and asked where I could buy them from), Ann said "we hope to have them in production by next week and I will post out a couple of packets". It reads like they perhaps alternate between which products they're making at any one time, so maybe she's having to wait for a new batch to be ready before she can send out any freebies. If that's the case, it might be that they're out of teacakes so she's having to wait for more to be made before she can send them out.

I also noticed that she's requested a "read receipt" from the email she sent me, which I gladly supplied. It's nice to know that she cares enough to want confirmation that her messages are getting through.

  12. She took her sweet time, but I've just had an email from Ann. She wished me a belated happy birthday and said she's sending me two packets of Wafer Creams in the post. What a nice lady.

Keep going, the one after that is much more straightforward!

I take this back. The one after the scorpion prick is quite awkward. There's far too many things on the floor, making it difficult to move around while you're trying to sweep some nice straight lines across the ceiling. Not too impressed with this DLC really. Like, it's good because it's PowerWash Simulator, but I haven't enjoyed cleaning any of these objects anywhere near as much as all the others. 5 out of 10.

  14. Was that the Scorpion Sentinel? Pain in the arse, that was. I cancelled my Game Pass subscription the other day because I've played everything on there that I want to play, but then realised it means I won't have access to PowerWash Simulator any more. So I bought it for £15. More than happy to throw them a few quid as a thanks for the supremely pleasant 80ish hours I've spent on it.

  15. I'd spunk up everywhere if they added some Nier stuff to scrub. Proper love those games.

For anyone looking / waiting, the FFVII DLC is an add-on from the store, rather than being part of a game update. Apologies to Ann from Tunnock's for dragging her name into things earlier.
