Fuck it, I'm owning it - I'm in my Zbysko era. If anyone wants me, I'll be over here, avoiding bumps and turning my back on the commentary desk to soak up the cheers from the crowd at Nitro.

I hope you stalled for 10 minutes before hitting post.

If one of my clients wants me overseas for a meeting, I'm getting them to book flights and accommodation.

You wouldn't work for clients who are paying you with a handshake and a ham sandwich either.

  3. 1PW as a name shouldn't be worth anything, it should be in negative equity as a brand.

But as the latest of many comebacks show a fool and his money are easily parted if you got a dvd in HMV once.

  4. Found out the BH plan and it's odd.

Say I work mon to Thursday I loose 1/5 of a day holiday for every Monday - Thursday bank holiday but gain 1/5 of a day for every Friday bh.

It seems loads more work than benefit given I'm on a salary, but hey ho.

Actually changing the tyre is impossible to do yourself at home.

My dad used to do it for his old land rover when I was young and from watching I knew it wasn't anything I'd ever want to try. Mind he'd do everything on that himself, it was like a big mechano set.

It was his job at one time, so I'm assuming that's how he knew what he was doing and had leaver's and kit and the like.

Cars used to be a piece of piss though - oil, water, filters, spark plugs, batteries, bulbs, belts, all easily done yourself. Car stereos, a 10 minute job.   It's way harder now - cars don't even have dipsticks or easily accessible bulbs, everything is computer controlled requiring a trip to a registered mechanic.  Even finding the fuse box is a job now.

Definitely second this. I'll happily tackle jobs on my 40 year old van because even if I'm not sure what I'm doing I know how it works in theory, my 10 year old fiesta I'm not going near because it's all electronically regulated.

  6. I've had my train cancelled so I'm on a bus there instead, however I've gone boring and stuck to the GBG listing for my guide on day 1;

    Antelope, Eaton Terrace

    Fox & Hounds, Passmore Street

    Star Tavern, Belgrave Mews

    Bear, Spring Street

    Mad Bishop, Paddington station

    Victoria, Strathearn Place.

I'm still working on day 2 but that'll be heading east from the bus stop - hotel - Albert Hall loop and taking in your pub recommendations.
