  1. I understood what Neville was saying with the Kane/Zidane comparisons. The way Kane would get the ball in and around the centre circle and use his strength to hold off the opposition, all while looking around for his next pass was very Zidane like.

I do honestly think Kane could be the best player on planet at the minute. Certainly the best all round centre forward...

That whole CD/tape/record of WCW themes from 93 is chock full of bangers. There's Man Called Sting, I seem to remember Barry Windham having a pretty catchy one, that one about Steamboat being a family man. Cracking stuff. There's this weird "don't compare him to his dad, but here's a load of references to his dad" song about Dustin Rhodes as well.

I'd love it if AEW could get the rights to that and use it for Big Dust! Get the fans singing along, it would be great!

  3. I've always wondered if a big wrestling promotion could get away with having 2 shows aimed at two different demographics? I'm thinking of Dynamite being the main show aimed at the normal audience that it always has been, and maybe make the second show either a full on post watershed, adults only type of show filled with more violent matches, and more adult orientated story lines, or even go the full on opposite and fill it with kid friendly content like @LaGooshmentioned.

On paper, it would work, but in reality would it cause more problems than it would be worth?

If anyone is interested, a good friend of mine if launching a deathmatch promotion in Melbourne Australia. One of the key owners has experience helping promote shows for both NJPW and Australian super promotion MCW, so certainly got the right guy for the job.

You can read more about it: http://snapmayorsmedia.com/professional-wrestling-news/australian-wrestling-news/new-melbourne-wrestling-promotion-deathmatch-downunder-is-coming-in-jan-2021/

But their launch video is below.

They need to be much more original with the names of their wrestlers. Way too many called "Deathmatch Ready"...

  5. I think he's actually on to something. Lets stop calling each other Black, White or whatever, and start identifying different ethnicities using the Dulux colour chart. I'm not far off "Sandrock Bluff"...

Imagine being some of the decent talent on Dark and not being paid to wrestle, or being on very minimal, to the point that Cody recently said 'if you ask some of the extras what they earn.....my dad would have lost it' and then Jade Cargill rocks up, shits the bed and gets signed to a contract.

The interview with Cody about the 'tiered contract system' is quite an interesting one. Can be found at the below link. Cody couldn't remember is Red Velvet was signed or not.

As Louch says, I think you may have wrongly interpreted what he was saying. It sounds like they are paying a very generous "signing" bonus to the extras to be available if AEW needs them(but they can work elsewhere if not). All in all, it's a decent situation for them to be in with the world the way it is and work elsewhere drying up..

  7. There was a post somewhere(possibly here) where some dickhead was saying that Trump couldn't have lost as he has (something like)70m twitter followers and Biden only had 11m. People who live on social media have had their perception of reality changed and believe it is the be all and end all. It's fucking mad!

This is going up on Now TV soon, I hear.

I hope they make a proper job of it and clean it up nicely. I can imagine it will look awful on modern TV's...

Twitch has 3 different subscriber tiers. The lowest is £4.99 a month, then a tenner, then the top one is £25. Sometimes you can set things where your chat is only for subscribers, so if people want to comment in real time, ask questions etc they'd have to subscribe at tier 1. The only other stuff you tend to get for subscribing at higher tiers that I can remember off the top of my head is that you get extra emojis to use in the chat.

Twitch doesn't have to just be streaming videogames. You'd be surprised, or maybe not, at how many channels are just girls sat on their beds talking to the chat. Some people DJ live on their, John Robertson does his Dark Room interactive show on there every week/couple of days. Dominik Diamond, and Iain Lee have what is ostensibly a phone in/talk radio show (not together) on there. If you're engaging enough you can get plenty of viewers/followers/subscribers on there, and any money through subscriptions/donations is split 50/50 with Twitch. It can be a handy little earner. If Paige/Saraya does have all those subscribers while she's just shooting the breeze, selling her makeup and messing around on videogames then she'd be able to make something approaching what WWE pay her.

Thanks for that. Like Youtube, Twitch has pretty much passed me by(because I'm an old bastard!).

If she can make the money that has been reported just by talking to fans while wearing very little, then good for her! I suppose some folk would look down upon it and see ing what she's doing as little more than Babestation or the like, but so what. She wrestled for years and that was looked upon as trash by the "mainstream", so she couldn't really win either way in their eyes...

  10. I've never watched Paige streaming(or anyone for that matter), as it simply does not interest me. I saw somewhere else that she doesn't actually play games herself, and that the main reason people sub is because she talks and answers questions in lingerie and skimpy outfits. I even saw someone claim that she was showing a games stream, but someone else was playing it, and she was just dicking around with a controller.

Can someone who is more clued up than me confirm/deny this.

It doesn't make much of a difference though. If she has found a niche that allows her to earn a brilliant living, then more power to her!

I know everyone is bored of me going on about Wrexham, and next season I'll make my own thread so people can avoid me going on about them like we did with the North London clubs, but here is their mission statement.

    ALWAYS BEAT CHESTER.

It's an exciting time for you. Go on about it all you want, the vast majority will understand why you're doing it!

Yep. I’m celebrating that Trump isn’t president, not Biden being president.

I've got to agree with you Keith, and from what I can gather from some friends I have over in the 'States, a hell of a lot of people over there are thinking the same. My mate said weeks before the election, the the ballot should have simply said "Trump", or "Not Trump"...

    Edit:

And Kanye had to be on there for a laugh...

Basically if you were a wrestler who read books the other wrestlers thought they were intelligent. But every wrestler touted as being really smart has been exposed as a complete dumb shit.

What about Bob Backlund? He always had his head in a book and was apparently mega-smart. Granted, he ended up a full on fruit-loop, but he was smart with it!

No, he's still got the same powers. The only way that stops if he's impeached and convicted, or if the Cabinet declares him medically incapacitated.

That's just asking for trouble! If I bet his pisses in the White House kettle or something.

Important note on Pennsylvania is that Biden's going to win there before they even start counting the votes that arrived after Election Day. So that means the most plausible case of a Trump lawsuit winding up in the Supreme Court is now irrelevant.

    That's really good to hear.

  15. Is there anything in their laws to stop him basically sabotaging the country in the few months before Biden takes the reins? I'm not thinking about him shitting in a desk drawer or stealing a load of bog roll from the White House, but actually causing a war or doing something that would crash the economy? I mean, it's obvious he's petty enough to try something, if he is s inclined. But does he lose any of his powers once the election is "called"?
