  1. Last film i got through was Noriko's Dinner Table a sort of follow-up to the cult Japanese Horror Suicide Circle.

It is a MUCH different film than the first and has none of the Horror elements but ends up being a much better film.

It's mainly based around a girl called Noriko who is portrayed as the lonely and sad teenager who wishes to escape to Tokyo but her dad will not let her as she'll "meet bad guys and get pregnant" so she finds an online community (same one from the previous film) and goes by the name "Mitsuko", she starts to get close to people and they all "help" eachother then she ends up idolising one of them called "Ueno54" who is the main mind behind the forum.

"Mitsuko" runs away to meet "Ueno54" and then a dark mindfuck of a story begins where they are in a business of acting as Daughters for lonely men who may or may not have lost thier families.

I won't give any more away as it was well worth watching and getting throughly confused over, plus i'm shit at writing things like this.

So weird thinking about this as i'm meeting someone really well known from an imageboard/forum myself this month...

  2. The new Limp song is suprisingly really good, one of thier strongest singles (if it becomes a single which i what i expect) ever. It comes across as a song people will shit on to sound cool but secretly listen to quite a bit, but haven't Limp been like that for years anyway.

  3. Just watched Zebraman from 2004 directed by Takeshi Miike, not one of the shocking/gore filled or Yakuza films that he is usually known for but instead it was a Superhero comedy.

It's about geeky school teacher who has no control over his class or his family but has a secret obsession for an old TV show called Zebraman, it ran for 13 episodes but was then axed but this guy was still in love with it so he's been making his own costume based on it. Long story short, he wears the costume and gains powers from nowhere as green gooey aliens take over human hosts and kill people. He shares a bond with a disabled boy who is fatherless and loves Zebraman himself, showing the teacher what he can find on the internet about him. Teacher saves the kid etc.

Pretty fun and the sequal just came out staring Naoki Tanaka from the Downtown shows.

  4. Is Listers book available in shops? Got Slamthology at Waterstones, so I'd imagine Turning the Tables should be in there. Where's the best place to buy it?

    Waterstones website has it at

  5. Okay, to get the ball rolling I've uploaded an unfinished track that I've been working on since yesterday. It's nothing fancy and so far it's only a lick under a minute and a half, there's a lot of things I need to change -and I clearly don't know dick about mastering but I think it's getting there and it's much better than I hoped it would be.

    [lightbreaker] - "Gratitude (Preview)"

I'm guessing it's Burial influenced? As soon as i heard the drum beat it popped into my head.

I hate making music like this as i've only just started, all i ever did before was work on some grindcore or black metal so it's hard work even knowing how to use the software. I may end up doing a grind track with the sample as the intro and add something else wrestling related somehow.

  6. TYPE O NEGATIVE keyboardist Josh Silver has confirmed to BLABBERMOUTH.NET that the band's frontman, Peter Steele, passed away yesterday (Wednesday, April 14) at the age of 48. No official cause of death has yet been released, but it is believed that Steele died of heart failure.

  7. Listened to both Alcest and Les Discrets leaks even though i have them ordered (the artwork is perfect). Both very strong albums but Les Discrets wont get the recognition they/he deserve as Alcest are/is so much more well known.

  8. Immolations new album entitled Majesty and Decay came out during the week, i'm only on track 2 but it's sounding awesome. One of the few Death Metal bands that never went totally bollocks after a few years.

Typical fast, harsh pounding sound with some damn sexy riffs. Hope it keeps going like this.

Stolen from another board just now.

  10. Any fans of Vader on this forum?

I'll be off to see them in Glasgow tonight, and I believe they'll be playing in Leeds and Nottingham over the weekend.

Litany is my favorite Death Metal album of all time, shame a lot of thier music is sub par though as they have the potential to be amazing.

  11. Anyone heard Blackjazz by Shining (Norwegian, not the Swedish black metal boyband) yet? It's pure madness and i'm shocked i never heard them before, a wonderful mash of Jazz, Prog and Black/Death Metal.

Linky to a song from the album.

Haven't heard Blackjazz yet, but I've heard In the kingdom of kitsch you will be a monster and Grindstone, both of which are good records.

is my favourite tune of theirs. Fuck me @ that kick in!

For some reason i can't help but think of Stone Cold during the intro to that song, it is awesome and i'll be getting more of thier music.
