Paid Members seph Posted June 15, 2005 Paid Members Share Posted June 15, 2005 What are the real reasons why Smackdown isnt broadcast live? (rather than taped) because even though the WWE has the capacity to make both shows live (and they were for a long time), it's far cheaper to tape one of them, plus there's less pressure for the SmackDown workers to get everything right at the right moment as fuck-ups can be (and often are) re-shot, both in skits and matches. That really is the real reason. It also means the production crew gets all it's TV done in two days, instead of doing Raw, then having to wait three days to do SmackDown. Essentially, it means WWE can save money by ferrying people around for less.
Paid Members JNLister Posted June 15, 2005 Paid Members Share Posted June 15, 2005 Also, Smackdown is on a network (UPN is similar to ITV, being made up of regional stations), so it has to go off the air at a precise fixed time, whereas Raw is on a single cable channel which allows it about six to eight minutes leeway. Running a live show under such restrictions would be much more difficult.

freaky
Cheers Also what entrance music did RVD use at One Night Stand? As much as I wanted it to be Walk by Pantera, it was his WWE theme, One of a Kind.

The Mighty LC
Also, whilst I'm here, why was RAW shown on a Saturday night in the US? I remember seeing the said episode broadcast on the Friday on Sky Sports here in the UK. Westminster Dog Show...?
Guest amg
Do you guys trust BARB ratings here in the UK? (especially for wwe on skysports)They said 70,000 for RAW on Wednesday 6th June yet only like a few weeks ago it was a massive 160,000 odd.And with a 5000 selection rating panel it doesnt sound that right as it seems too small a number to represent the UK.My next Question is,How are ratings done in the US? Segaboyno
To add to the question (or answer) about the title defences on others' behalf, I suppose the British Bulldog defending the tag team titles for Owen Hart at IYH 3 would count also.
