Dear Buttons, or Bobbins, or 'ASSFACE' (on his avatar), or whatever you'd like to call yourself,

You can turn this into a personal, flaming dispute if you wish to, but that will reflect badly on you and not on me.

Irony is alive and well.

or making your oh so 'too-cool-for-this-board-I-watch-puroseau-I-am-knowledgable-and-I-laugh-at-all-you-WWE-marks-and-FWA-fanboys' remarks

Ah the old, 'You like Japanese Wrestling, therefore you're an elitist snob that mocks all WWE fans even though you don't' argument. 'Classic'.

If someone is ready within the next two years, well great. But they should have been ready earlier, then maybe they could have got the FWA's deal.

Has anyone got a pair of pliers so I can pull my teeth out?

Isn't "Extreme Sports" a combination of sports, as opposed to one particluar sport like wrestling? That's like saying American Football, Soccer and Rugby combined, are bigger than Tennis - the argument doesn't make any valid point; it's irrelevant.

Yeah but surely, the Extreme Sports Channel is a good model to look at as a company that's made a success of the dedicated sports channel idea. Is wrestling as popular or as successful a spectator sport as racing, extreme sports or golf in this country? Maybe. What if you take WWE out of the equation?

Leave it Bobbins. He's not worth it. Let's just start a thread about what a wanker he is at Spider Tw...nah, never mind. ;)And Herbie, your channel also brings together a variety of sports. I mean, you're not seriously telling me that CMLL and NOAH are comparable products? First person to mention Akiyama on that AAA tour gets slapped.

A lot of talk about other channels, yes this is true and I know for a fact if the wrestling channel takes off and an interest grows in wrestling a few of the small channels might be interested. People seem to missing the important factor. The production still has to be of an excellent quality. Including commentary etc. Its up to the promotions now to make sure the products are up to scratch. The secret is looking at it objectivley too. You may have great video production but the wrestling and show might suck. Or you could have the best show ever and poor video production. Everyone sees it different and I know as a promoter sometimes you can be blinkered.I am glad the FWA were aggressive in this, I don't have ever believe they should be the "Police" of British Wrestling as some have stated (I leave that to the tax man and bank managers), But at least now I know what sort fo benchmark has been set on production and news in the last fewe days means its going to be a relality, with a production company interested in producing our shows, editing them live, with commentary so they will be available for release the day after on tape or dvd. This is a small step in the right direction. As for other channels I am sure if our break does not come on the wrestling channel, and I honestly feel i have a good enough product for TV, I will look into other avenues. The joys of business advice, always a great way to straighten your thought pattern..

Let's now hope X Wrestling is a success and their show on Overload TV is decent and goes well, as many more people just casually flicking through the channels are gonna stop and watch something on channel 208 than 432.

You're right! Who watches the sports channels?!?

Guest Mr. DVD

In my opinion no matter how much FWA try and say it is for the benefit of British Wrestling and all that stuff, quite simply, and not for the first time, they are trying to ruin anyone who doesn't work for them or with them.

Well Kenny McBride got in there before me. Extreme sports, whilst being a collection of smaller sports ahve a common thread. I know loads of skateboarders who snowboard and BMX too. People are into extreme sports as a group so Herb's argument isn't that strong. People who watch extreme sports watch a variety of different 'extreme' sports. Comparing sports with fans in the millions like football and rugby to rock climbing and bungee junping is ludicrous. Likewise when you compare ITV's World Of Sport to Combat Zone you can see they are two totally different companies. Personally I'd watch both programmes as I enjoy all kinds of wrestling from MMA to puro to garbage style to sprts entertainment. However, you only have to read this forum for a few days to see that many wrestling fans only watch a certain style.Earler in the thread Classics Guy commented on my original post. After reading throughout all this thread it seems like Classics Guy is rather blinkered in his view regarding the deal. Although he did backtrack regarding the length of the deal, he has still refused to consider wether an FWA exclusive deal is good or bad for wrestling. He has not considered the future possibility of comapnies being ready for TV in the future. Your comment that companies should be ready now and if they are not it's tough shows a disregard for the issues and criticisms that posters on here have been trying to be address. I hate to say it but you do come across as someone who is so pro-FWA that they cannot consider other posters concerns.I have read Alex Shane's recent release and I thought he came across as a bit of an idiot. First of all the implication that we were being worked as we are all 'negative' I found to be embarrassing and insulting. Who on earth does Alex Shane think he is to basically make something up to make his next news seem better? Personally I think FWA have had a climb down but don't have the honesty to address it as such. If Alex Shane sees the ukff as a negativity based forum then perhaps he should move his forum and not bother with it. Just bear in mind how many of his target audience actually post in here. As for FWA being a benchmark for other promotions. One, FWA's production really isn't all that great and the wrestling although decent is not exactly what I would have as a benchmark for other promotions. What if a promotion produces a product which draws and has a following yet is entirely different ot FWA's vision of wrestling? The FWA come across as smug and once again their notion that they are 'leading the British wrestling revival' shines through.

Guest Magnificent Butcher

To be fair, your all a bunch of up tight, bitter, whiners. And thats being fair. I'd bet you a kick in the nut sack that half the people moaning on the thread either have a vested interest, a grudge or are even workers themselves for other companies.Put yourself in the FWA's shoes... You WOULD have done it unless you were a crap business person which is mute as your fed would have probably folded very quickly. Making something exclusive make it more special. The fact that you can see British wrestling on TV at all is something postitive you fucking nay-sayers. "Oh no!!! I wont be able to see IWW, WAW, WZW or Hammerlock on TV!!! Boo freakin hoo!". Does anyone remember the Transatlantic Wrestling Challenge? I'd prefer having one strong product over 20 products some of which are good and some that make the business look like an embarrassment.I'll tell you what else is funny. Someone said they thought Alex Shane was an idiot cause he worked us...... Hahahahahahahaha..... Its wrestling for fuck sake. It is by definition a work. Look, its not the end of anyones life so try getting behind the FWA instead, post on the fan forum, offer constructive suggestions and maybe <dare i say> even some praise. What a miserable bunch of tools. Ok flame away with the knwoledge that slagging someone off thouogh someones speling or gramer is the lowest form of wit. yes. even lower than sarrcasm. I swear if one person tells me to use a spellchecker i'll sigh and call you a cunt (as is the way with internet hatred). The moral of this post is: Well done FWA.. Hardluck every other company.. Fans who support are supporting both FWA and the business (as if the FWA sink, brit wrestling on tv will be gone for good too). To those who don't support- give it a try.

It could be good.If casual fans see an FWA show, well presented, good production and great action they will become interested in British wrestling. If they see some of the other shit in Britain, they will never watch British wrestling again! However if another British fed did get up to FWA's standards, I would want to see them so Im a tad concerned it is an exclusive deal for so long.

No, believe it or not, the professional wrestling product and real life are different things.
