Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted October 15 Paid Members Posted October 15 (edited) Back at the Apex on Halloween night. Must be a ‘trick’ because it’s definitely not much of a ‘treat’… PARAMOUNT+ MAIN CARD Renato Moicano vs Tom Nolan Randy Brown vs Jacobe Smith Cody Durden vs Ode Osbourne Yana Santos vs Luana Santos Farman Hasanov vs Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani PARAMOUNT+ PRELIMS Francis Marshall vs Dakota Hope Rodrigo Sezinando vs Theodor Berggren Julian Erosa vs Jeong Yeong Lee Zach Reese vs Mickey Gall Nick Klein vs Joe Kropschot Talita Alencar vs Piera Rodriguez Tainara Lisboa vs Lucia Szabova Can honestly say there isn’t one fight there that I really give a bollocks about. Moicano vs Nolan might be alright. I guess. But whatever. It wasn’t even supposed to happen. This was just cobbled together and thrown on this card because Brian Ortega dropped out of the planned Moicano rematch at UFC 331 in September. Nolan’s OK but doesn’t feel like a headliner at this stage, even for the bottom tier Apex shows. The rest? Don’t even know if Randy Brown is staying on the card after his opponent dropped out. There’s nothing else there to work with. Erm. The two Santoses - Yana and Luana - aren’t related. It’s not a sister vs sister family feud or anything. Maybe Lucia Szabova will be worth a look? She’s 10-0 and was a two-weight champion at Flyweight and Bantamweight in Oktagon. Oddly, the bottom four prelims look better than most of the main card to me. That’s the UFC in 2026 for you. Sod it. That’ll do. Edited Thursday at 05:49 PM by wandshogun09 Quote
Dai Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Not so much a card of 'Who's who', but more just a case of 'Who?'. Looks like a proper low budget, local type of show. Just was browsing Randy Browns Wiki, and shocked to see hes been in there with quite a few big (ish) names over the years. Must have been seen as a decent prospect around the 2015 time. Didn't pan out for him though really did it. Speaking of names, one of his last fights was against Wellington Turmon. Cracking name! Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted October 16 Paid Members Posted October 16 Wellington Turman's name is probably the only thing he's got going for him as a fighter though. Quote
Bruce85 Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Not sure I’d watch this if it was happening live in my back garden. Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted October 16 Author Paid Members Posted October 16 Most of the fanbase will lap shite like this up though. Seems like a massive chunk of the fanbase now aren’t even actual fans of MMA, they just wanna bet on fights. So they’re like pigs in shit as long as there’s a show on every Saturday night. The quality doesn’t matter to them and you get called a “casual” if you say a weak card is a weak card. Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted October 20 Author Paid Members Posted October 20 Jacobe Smith’s stepped in against Randy Brown in the co-main. Bit of a much needed boost to the card that, more interesting than the original Brown vs Carlos Leal fight in my opinion and a decent step up for Smith. Quote
