Johnnyreggae Posted August 19 Posted August 19 As mentioned in the title, What are your thoughts on the promotion? Some have said the following... Great promotion with a long history of putting on fantastic matches and really spotlighting the BritWres scene. EVE has reached super indie status. best British wrestling promotion and the best non-Japanese women's wrestling promotion. "The top wrestling promotion in the UK right now, and a top 5 worldwide. Paid Members JLM Posted August 19 Paid Members Posted August 19 (edited) I love it. Travel down from Leeds to London at least every couple of months to attend their shows and watch the ones I can’t make on YouTube. Excellent vibes in the venue, with a lot more women and far fewer dickheads than you see at any other wrestling show. Also has a roster with lots of fun and clearly defined characters, great for first timers but recently have had some rewarding long term stories like the rise of Martina from comedy undercard mainstay to World champ. Also been wonderful seeing most of my favourites from the AEW women’s roster in small venues getting more time and freedom to show what they can do. The various other international guest have been excellent too. I like that their imports aren’t allowed to completely overshadow the main show as well. Like they will put titles on them and feature/promote them, but the main events are still frequently Eve regulars. They also match make very well, so even if an Eve regular loses to a guest it’s usually ok service of providing the best possible match and they will still get plenty of value from it. Wrestle Queendom in March this year was my second favourite live wrestling show I’ve ever attended and that’s only because nothing is ever beating All In 2024. I’m heading down for Eve X The World on All In weekend and am very excited for it as last year’s version was a total blast and full of surprises. I also review their shows in the Indy Dreaming thread every month. Eve is great. 👍 Edited August 19 by JLM Quote
TildeGuy~! Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Enjoyed 1 of the 2 events I’ve been too in the past (Wrestle Queendom II) but unfortunately both were running behind. The other show was a 7PM start - which didn’t start til gone 8pm and when they eventually let everyone in and seated the Read couple decided to have a very unfunny stand up set for the first 20mins of the show, I ended up having to leave at the interval due to it being way past 10pm and I would have missed my train home. I bought tickets to see Natsu Sumire(she ended up being involved in a 4 minute tag match just before the interval) and Miyu Yamishita but unfortunately had to miss out on the Miyu title defence as it was the main event. Its cool they have a familiar audience - anytime I watch online or when I’ve been to the shows I did attend I noticed the same people but yea not a fan of the way the shows are run at all. Quote
