Paid Members Lorne Malvo Posted January 30 Paid Members Posted January 30 Inspired by LaGoosh's post in the Eddie Guerrero thread; 10 minutes ago, LaGoosh said: The Eddie/Chyna angle gets overlooked a lot because it happened at the same time as the Steph/Triple H/Kurt love triangle but watching it back the Eddie/Chyna stuff is way better. It#s easily Chyna's best work. There must be tons of angles/wrestlers/matches that were overlooked at the time due to something or someone else being the focus. My shout would be the Orton vs Christian rivalry in 2011. It happened during the Summer of Punk and for the most part, got completely overshadowed by Punk/Cena/Vince shenanigans. However, none of that stuff has aged particularly well whilst the Orton/Christian feud is one of my favourite WWE feuds of all time (and I'm not an Orton fan at all). Orton losing the title due to a DQ after Christian spat in his face was perfect for Christians character at the time, and their eventual blowoff match was a rare example of a match being completely one-sided and that being the right decision - Orton just battered Christian for the vast majority of the match and Christian was such a prick he absolutely deserved it. Are there any other examples? Quote
AshC Posted January 30 Posted January 30 They did a WWE: Timeline on the much-missed WWE Network about Orton vs Christian and it was brilliant. I'd typically stick with the Savage/Flair and Bret/Owen era of episodes, but this was really good and it showed how good the angle was as well as the wrestling. Quote
Paid Members air_raid Posted February 1 Paid Members Posted February 1 Shawn Michaels vs Chris Masters at Unforgiven 2005 is a very neat piece of storytelling, far better than it had any right to be considering how green the Masterpiece was, and has by and large been forgotten since. Quote
