It’s either they don’t like grapplers, they hate Muslims or they’re just McGregor fans (or all the above) who don’t want him anywhere near the belt because that snuffs out any tiny bit of hope they have left that McGregor can get that gold back. Settle down. Some of us just think that a win over someone ranked higher than eighth would be nice. I actually think his association with Khabib has helped him more than anything else. Anyone else with his track record of opponents wouldn't be as readily accepted as basically the champion-in-waiting. You'd think Oliviera is just holding that title until "Khabib 2.0" arrives to relieve him of his duties. But this dude is seen as the next Khabib, so he must be good enough, right? Well, maybe he is. But lets put him in there with a proper top name and see how he does first, that's all. Quote

I should’ve put ‘most people’ not worded it like a blanket statement but my point stands. If not Makhachev, who deserves it more after Oliveira vs Gaethje then? Quote

Paid Members WeeAl Posted February 27, 2022 Paid Members Posted February 27, 2022 Anyone been to the transfusion service yet to help out Joel Alvarez? The poor sod was spurting claret as if his face was a split hosepipe. Tsarukyan is going to be extremely interesting to keep an eye on over his next few fights. He's only heading one way by the looks of it. I'd be all for that fight with Gillespie that Wand mentioned. The main event wasn't a surprise at all. Bobby Green gave it a shot and a long shot was the sum of his chances here. Fair play to all involved for taking the fight and keeping a main event on the show. Both men get paid and Islam gets another W, whilst I don't think Green really loses any stock following this. Makhachev for the next title shot for me. I was all good with him and Dariush fighting it out for the clear cut #1 contender, a great fight that looked to be, but with Dariush breaking his leg, that ship has sailed. For now. I expect we'll see it before too long, probably with the title on the line. Quote
