Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted January 6, 2015 Awards Moderator Posted January 6, 2015 LAST YEAR'S WINNERS: The Undertaker vs. CM Punk, John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan, The Rhodes Brothers vs. The Shield The nominations have been counted, now it's time to vote for your wrestling match of the year for 2014! Feel free to post reasons why you have/haven't voted for a match. The shortlist is: AJ STYLES VS. MINORU SUZUKI, G1 CLIMAX DAY 7 In which champion Styles fought veteran Suzuki for NJPW in August. - BROCK LESNAR VS. JOHN CENA, SUMMERSLAM In which Lesnar annihilated Cena and took the WWE Title. - DANIEL BRYAN VS. BATISTA VS. RANDY ORTON, WRESTLEMANIA (there's a picture in another poll) In which Bryan finally became Champion. Unless you count the two other times he won it, and the time he was World Champion before that. - DANIEL BRYAN VS. TRIPLE H, WRESTLEMANIA But before he did that, he had to get through the Game. - PRINCE PUMA VS. JOHNNY MUNDO, LUCHA UNDERGROUND EPISODE 1 (You can watch this one here: ) In which people otherwise known as Ricochet and John Morrison do lucha stuff. - SAMI ZAYN VS. ADRIAN NEVILLE, NXT R EVOLUTION (can't find a decent picture of this one) In which Sami Zayn finally won the NXT Title, only to be double-crossed by Kevin Owens afterwards. - TEAM CENA VS. TEAM AUTHORITY, SURVIVOR SERIES Slammy-award winning match, this one. - THE SHIELD VS. EVOLUTION, EXTREME RULES Two great three-man teams fight all over the place. - THE SHIELD VS. THE WYATT FAMILY, ELIMINATION CHAMBER Two more great three-man teams fight all over the place. One of those teams is the same as one above. I still believe in The Shield. - YOUNG BUCKS vs. CANDICE LERAE AND JOEY RYAN, PWG ELEVEN (couldn't find a decent picture here either) This match was for the PWG Tag Team Championship.
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted January 7, 2015 Author Awards Moderator Posted January 7, 2015 I'm torn between Shield/Wyatts and Lesnar/Cena. Two very different but equally memorable matches. I should have allowed multiple votes on this one!
WyattSheepMask Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Both are great and it was fantastic to see Lesnar obliterate Cena in the fashion that he did, but I personally enjoyed Shield/Wyatts more
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted January 15, 2015 Author Awards Moderator Posted January 15, 2015 We could end up with a joint winner here, just like last year. Very close contest between Shield-Wyatts and Zayn-Neville at the moment.
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted January 15, 2015 Paid Members Posted January 15, 2015 I've just cast my vote, drawing the two matches dead level. Real close run race, this. I went for The Shield vs Wyatt Family, can't help but feel that Zayn vs A-Nev is benefiting a little from being so fresh in everybody's minds. It definitely belongs on the shortlist, but I personally thought Zayn's exchange with Cesaro at Arrival and the four-way title match in September were better.
