i know it's nit picking at this point, but didn't Sonnen drop Silva twice with strikes? The thing that makes Sonnen so dangerous is that he isn't afraid to walk though shots to get his takedown, that was the difference when Okami fought Silva, he was petrified. Chael showed Silva no respect, and Silva did nothing in the fight to make Chael respect him, i see the 2nd fight being very similar. I ain't saying Silva won't KO Sonnen but i just think Chael is gonna give him hell again.

Me either. I can't see how Mir gets the fight in a position that is advantageous to him. Unless he can hit a flying arm bar or something like that. Cain will surely dismantle him standing and I doubt Frank can take him down.

Frank never took Nog down really, he never took Brock down also both ended the same, Cain will drop Mir but will just need to be careful not to fall into the Venus fly trap that is Frank Mir by picking his shots.

Cain has better hands than both Brock and Nog though. I think he'll put Mir away efficiently and Mir won't have the time or sense of baring to be able to grab a limb.

And regarding Brock - that was is UFC debut so I wouldn't read too much into that, considering what happened in their second fight.

I pretty much agree after what happened when Carwin beat Mir to a pulp, but after Nog got caught its just a msg to anyone that they need to not turn off at anytime and always be careful.

Exactly. I believe if Nog had continued to throw punches while Mir was turtled then the fight would have been stopped a few seconds later. It was the guillotine that messed it up for Nog. I can't see Cain attempting something like that he'd rather just continue to pound on Mir.

January's UFC 142 event today took a major hit as Siyar Bahadurzada (20-4-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC), Rob Broughton (15-7-1 MMA, 1-2 UFC) and Stanislav Nedkov (12-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) were all officially scratched from the event.

Additionally, Tatame is reporting that Paulo Thiago (14-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) has also been forced to withdraw from the card, though UFC officials have yet to confirm the change.

Replacement opponents have yet to be determined. The UFC blamed injury for all three official withdrawals.

fucking hell, Gilbert's looking good. I wonder if he'd ever get another crack in the UFC? his heavyweight run was disastrous but i always got time for Gilbert. He'd be a great addition to Bellator's 205lb division.

Nedkov is out cause he can't get a Visa. Siyar must be the most held-up fight ever, that guy's never gonna make his debut.
