The Cum Doctor
I thought it was Rampage's fight as well. It was close and the last round was a fucking nightmare to get right though. Griffin had what I felt was a 10-8 in there too. So aye, turns out I'm not making much of a point at all, other than a rematch would be good. David
I've always been a fan of the idea of "super-fights". We've heard numerous "legends" say in the past that they aren't looking for title fights or to make a run for the belt, but are more looking for interesting fights. Two who have said that are Randy Couture & Matt Hughes. Â With the sheer number of events that the UFC are putting on, it's always good to be able to call on a special attraction fight, such as a big Nog vs Cro Cop, or a Matt Hughes vs Frank Trigg, Randy Couture vs Cro Cop, and so forth. Espcially with the amount of fights that are falling though and being called off lately, something like that would be a godsend. Â Being able to throw a marquee name onto a card is no bad thing, especially if it's two guys that the crowd love, and who are still fairly competitive against each other. Â With that said, is there any such fights that people would like to see? If Dana White called you tomorrow and asked you to throw together some special attraction fights for forthcoming UFC events that would sit in the co-main slot, or just below, what would you like to see? Â I wouldn't mind seeing the TUF 11 fight that never was. Liddell vs Ortiz III. I watched the build to that fight, and was really looking forward to the bout, only for it to get scrapped and Franklin to come in instead. My personal MMA dream match is Tank Abbott Vrs Steven Seagal.  Make it happen, Dana!
Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted September 26, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted September 26, 2011 Nah, Steven Seagal vs Gene LeBell. It's been building for decades. Plus I like the idea of Seagal pissing himself in the middle of the Octagon (not in a "wanking in my Mum's moist knickers" kind of way).
Dirty Eddie
That's a good call too, Gene has probably aged better than Seagal. Â My thinking was that it would be great to see Seagal get humbled by the moronic Tank, and if it went the other way, I'd have yet another hilarious "Tank Abbott getting owned" moment to enjoy. It's win, win.
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted September 26, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted September 26, 2011 Deffo LeBell vs Segal 2. It's a travesty their first 'fight' wasn't filmed. From the rumours Segal's pants were well and truly under siege when Judo Gene got through with him. Â A more realistic suggestion I'd go with Chuck Liddell vs Mirko Cro Cop. 2 of MMA's most feared strikers of the last decade and close enough in size to be a possibility. Both have dangerous striking but neither has a good chin anymore = Pretty much a guaranteed KO either way. I'd still tune in now and be pumped for this one. Â And Wanderlei Silva vs Randy Couture. They teased it back at UFC 49 when they faced off after Randy beat Vitor but it wasn't to be.

Dirty Eddie
I'd buy that for a dollar as well! (Tank V Shamrock) Â Part of me misses the oddball, freakshow fights from the early days. I understand it does the progression of the sport no favours, but personally I'd love to see a few more crazy fights. Get rid of the upper weight limit for the heavyweights too, get the REAL big boys in there!
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted September 26, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted September 26, 2011 If we're talking freakshows then nothing could ever top the awesomeness of a Keith Hackney vs Harold Howard fight. I REALLY wish that would have happened. Â Â fuck Anderson vs GSP, this would be the fight of the century

Oh, I wasn't talking about the oddball, freakshow fights of PRIDE etc, I was meaning the main card draws who just can't quite cut it at the top level anymore. They still draw, and still excite fans but won't be fighting for the title any time soon.

David
You gave me an excuse to post that ridiculous photo of Ken Shamrock, so it's all good.
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted September 26, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted September 26, 2011 The thing I love about Shamrock is he probably doesn't think it's ridiculous. I bet he's got that picture framed on his wall. Like when he said to Tito "I'll beat you into a living death" he was deadly serious and seemed to think he'd delivered some killer putdown. He looked genuinely insulted that it was met with silence and then Tito laughed. Â Gotta love Kenny
