I was one of them. I did there, Loughborough and Cleethorpes.

D-Lo got cut hardway at Sheffield when Alex twatted him with what I think was an umbrella. I had to go and get something for the cut and the venue gave me a tiny first aid kit with some plasters in.

Loughborough was fun if only because me and the UK Pitbulls went in to another part of the students union beforehand to try and flog tickets...which was quite the experience. D-Lo and Alex Shane fighting on a sofa during their match was fun too.

Cleethorpes evening show had a decent turn out but the afternoon show was like 15 people and a few pensioners coming in to get out of the rain, memorable mainly for the wrestlers goofing around to pop each other due to the small turn out.

Main one was Alex Shane putting Dan Head in a submission and the referee (probably Lynskey) going 'Do you give up!?...Do you give!?...Do you give, Head?!...  Do you give Head!?'.

Maybe you had to be there.

I went to 3 shows on that tour SBA. If AEW get down to those sort of levels then they are in real trouble.

It was quite the sight seeing D-Lo Brown wrestle in front of 30 people in a massive sports hall in Sheffield.

Dynamite's in Louisville, Kentucky on November 1st. In a 20,000+ basketball arena, and as everyone knows by now ticket sales in general aren't the greatest.

This is just sad. Turning up in OVW, promoting buy one get one free. I can only assume Paul's hiding his embarassment keeping his back to the hard cam.

I had to do this kind of thing for Stevie Knight when ticket sales for an FWA tour he was promoting bombed. Difference is, Stevie wasn't the son of a billionaire and I was ringing people who had attended the previous show at the venue, putting on my best phone voice and making a big deal that 'Stars of ITVs Celebrity Wrestling programme, D-Lo Brown and Joe Legend will be on the show!'.

    Not quite the same.

I'm still waiting on hearing some stories that tell us what a good brain for the business Hunter's become, like all those famous road trip stories where Chico gave Shawn or Kev the best advice of all time off the top of his head. The closest I've heard is when they wanted to have RVD beat him to become the first new World Heavyweight Champion on Raw when they were going to throw the Undisputed title into dispute, and Hunter told them it would get him more heat if they just presented him the belt on Raw on a whim of Bischoff beforehand. Which makes a lot of sense, but he did it for selfish motives. And in the end, didn't end up putting RVD over at all.

Difference is HHH was a worker with his own best interests at heart then. Now he's not.

Did he not do a spell in TNA in the 00s? I definitely remember a PPV match with AJ Styles.

Yeah but just one or two matches. Not an excursion.

He botched his cross body from the second rope and thankfully the crowd was decent enough to not make a big deal out of it. He really needs to retire soon.

I bow to those who know more about New Japan than I do but am I right in thinking Tanahashi is one of the few New Japan talents that never did an excursion anywhere?
I know he worked Mexico for a couple of months with Nakamura but that wasn't counted as an excursion was it? Is there a reason why? I thought it was/is essentially a ritual to have an excursion for New Japan wrestlers?

As for the quarters thing, well, if you try and defend that then you're a blinkered mark moron even by the standard of wrestling fans.

Stay away from Twitter/X then. A LOT of defending it going on there, sadly.

Brian Pillman not even being Brian Pillman though. Hilarious. Literally the only thing he’s ever had going for him. Useless lump, just now with Turkey Teeth.

    I disagree.
Initially, when I heard they were changing his name I hated the idea. However, having seen the vignette I like it. It's different.
A second generation star who is in the business to spite his father and has changed his name because he wants nothing to do with him.

I'm willing to give it a chance.

Clearly someone recognised the potential she had to put her in that position in the first place

Cody? I'm thinking with a few AEW contracts allegedly coming up soon Cody's signing will REALLY start to pay off as he can tell HHH and Vince the talents to look at who he had a relationship with that would consider jumping. He clearly is a fan of Jade and likely put a word in for her or made it known to her that WWE was interested in the first place. I imagine he will do the same for Ricky Starks and MJF too when the time comes.

I think that's the key there - it just feels fun and enjoyable to watch now rather than a chore. It didn't need to be a super stacked show from top to bottom. They did enough. The crowd enjoyed it. It was an easy Sunday morning watch. Everyone's having a good time.

It's amazing how much easier wrestling is to watch when things are over.

I re-watched the ten man tag from Raw 2000 last week - DX and the Radicals v Rock, Foley, Rikishi and Too Cool. In any other situation it is a really basic match but everything was so stupidly over that it was a really fun, entertaining watch.

I imagine the wrestlers prefer it too as it means it is much easier to get a reaction.

    Long may it continue.

Stewart would be the tag partner in Daddy's retirement match in Margate 29th Dec that year.

I grew up in Margate and the Winter Gardens was my local venue.
I would have been 12 when this happened but have no idea why I didn't go as I attended almost every month in later years.
Missed a bit of history there. :(

It’s nice to see Christian properly win the TNT belt.

I disagree to a point. Him saying and acting like he is the champion while all the time it is Luchasaurus is just brilliant dickhead heel stuff.
