  1. Can anyone confirm whether UFC Blu-Rays released in America play ok on a British PS3?

I'd doubt they would play in this region, if Blu Ray is anything like DVDs.

So you cant confirm, you're just guessing. No help whatsoever then to dopper.

  2. Im plan on watching WrestleWar 92 for the first time, is it the PPV as a whole or just the main event that gets such praise

The last three matches on the card are all really good. You have the face vs face dynamic in a great Pillman/Zenk match, the Steiners absolutely brutalizing Fujinami & Iizuka followed by the awesome War Games. Nothing else on the undercard worth going out of your way to see, with the possible exception of Hercules' debut as the Super Invader.

  3. Where can I find some decent online photos of Tammy Sytch nude?

You're better off looking for a trader who has the Wrestling Vixxxens DVDs that she did. No full nudity (from what I remember) but she does go topless.

she did let a clunge slip through on one shoot, fuck knows which one mind.

I checked my copy and was mistaken. You do get to see Tammy in all her naked glory. She is packing a touch more weight, but that never really bothered me.

  4. Yeah I really like Curran.Looking forward to Askren,Reis etc aswell and I'm a Toby Imada fan for life after this

    masvidal-taps.jpg

I had never seen that until looking through various 'end of year' type lists last year. Everyone was saying Imada/Masvidal was submission of the year, if not best submission they had ever seen, so I searched it out on youtube and it is absolutely amazing.

Link for anyone who has not seen it:

  5. I still need to watch last weeks show but ive got it on my laptop so will try to tonight. By accounts sounds like a good show. This weeks also looks awesome, like I mentioned before Im very interested in seeing Askren fight and im looking forward to seeing Reis aswell. Good old Bellator!

I picked up a couple of DVDs of the Patriot Act shows which had Askren's first two MMA fights on (the one disc also features Tyron Woodley), but haven't got round to watching them yet. Reis was in a hell of a five rounder against Abel Cullum on one of the ShoXC cards, and Shad Lierley had one of my favourite all time fights (against Chris Horodecki in the IFL). The way that the IFL guys have struggled outside of that fed, means I am not expecting Shad to come away with the goods here. Jeff Curran is a great fighter aswell, although I know nothing about his opponent here.

  6. I watched Griffin vs. Bonner last night. Sweet. Mother. Of. Fuck.

I was going MENTAL watching it. It was madness.

You can watch every fight that has happened on TUF on the Ultimate Fighter site.

I dont know if you have seen it yet, but the TUF 2 Finale is a hell of a card. Both final fights are superb, the main of Diego Sanchez/Nick Diaz is a cracker and the card opens with Kenny Florian/Kit Cope.

  7. I'm looking to build up a WCW Collection on DVD, and can't be bothered with the hassle of tracking down videotapes. I primarily want PPV's but am also looking for TV Shows.

Can anybody direct me to a trustworthy ioffer seller that sells this stuff? I'm looking for good quality DVD's with the best picture possible.

You are far better looking for a UK based trader/shiller. The vast majority who shill season sets, PPVs etc over on ioffer can be found through trading boards and their prices are an awful lot cheaper on those boards than for what they sell at on ioffer.

  8. I remember reading in Power Slam years ago about how one of WCW top wrestler's convinced The Great Muta to stay heel so that they didn't outshine them, who was the wrestler? I always assumed it was Flair seeing as he was a face around about that time but I'm not sure

According to Gary Hart's autobiography, the plan at Clash 9 (Flair/Funk 'I Quit') for the finish was for Funk to quit, Hart to then get mad at the Funker, Funk to then attack Hart, and Muta to come to Hart's aid. Later down the line Hart would double cross Muta, side with Funk and then turn Muta face.

Hart claims that at the last minute he was double crossed by the 'Booking Commitee', who switched the 'I Quit' match to an 'I Quit wrestling' match as they tried to retire Funk for good. The Booking Commitee at that time consisted of Ole Anderson, Jim Barnett, Jim Cornette, Ric Flair, Eddie Gilbert, Jim Herd, Jim Ross and Kevin Sullivan.

In another note, it was Flair who determined the finishes for Starcade 89 and decreed he should go over Muta in under 2 minutes. He had decided that Muta would put over Sting and himself, then when Gary Hart was told of this, he joked about having Muta lose all three matches and kill him there. Flair was overjoyed when this response got back to him, agreed, and Muta who was undefeated up until that night proceeded to lose all three matches on the pay per view and had his credibility destroyed in the process.

  9. I remember thinking Phil Baroni was the greatest fighter in the world at this point, he's the "Best Eva!"

Not surprising really when you consider the way he took Menne apart at the end. Probably the best Baroni has ever looked, and one of my all time favourite finishes.

  10. Why didn't Ric Flair get out his moobs when he wrestled Sting on the last Nitro?

I honestly have no idea why you would be invested in this. However, general rule of thumb is that if a wrestler wears some sort of T-Shirt/top that is not part of their normal ringwear, they are not in good physical/cosmetic shape.

  11. Is there any UK based sites i could get the Ric Flair shoot from? Last time i ordered through highspots i got slapped with a customs charge. Cheers

Depends what you are looking for. If you are happy with just a copy of the highspots release, then your best bet is to just register with a trading site (see Ultimo and Rick's sigs) and do some enquiring there. Whatever you are looking for, there is a high likelihood someone will have it and it will be an awful lot cheaper than buying the original release.

  12. I use the UKFF for nearly all my online wrestling news. Last week the RAW spoilers appeared late and today they are none. I like reading these on a Tuesday lunchtime.

My question is: What's a good alternative site to UKFF that I can read these on? i.e., whats a good, easy-to-read, news site. Don't want links to forums or shit I gotta pay for.

    Cheers.

I tend to just read Todd Martin's Raw TV report from wrestlingobserver.com. An awful lot of the breaking news, and some TV reports you have to be a paying member to read. However, the RAW TV reports and daily updates are free for everyone to read.

  13. Ivpvideos.com I find is the fastest to get the stuff.

I wouldnt recommend IVP at all. I traded with him once, knowing full well that a couple of other guys who I regularly dealt with, had had problems in their transactions with him. Still he had some Rings shows that no-one else had, so I set up a trade with him; two discs froze, one was blank and he sent a wrong show aswell. I hear all too often about IVP having to replace faulty discs, coasters etc. Someone mentioned slambamjam, and he is a far more reliable chap to deal with if you are looking to order DVD-Rs from.

  15. BAMMA 2

As someone who doesn't really know that much about the UK scene, I finally got round to watching Bamma 2 last night and on the whole enjoyed the show. A few negatives, a few stars of the future and excellent production values throughout.

I might aswell start with the announcing team, which I felt was a huge negative to the show, although we should be greatful that OJ Borg was nowhere in site. I actually thought Christian O'Connell was the best of the bunch, as he had the presenting experience and was clearly a big fan (although I would say only a recent one) of the sport. Bret Freeman appeared to be in the Frank Mir position of calling the action and intricacies of what was going on, however he wasn't that great at this, ignoring an attempted D'Arce in the first fight of the evening, and completely missing the triangle set up and choke in the main event as the three of them were gassing about something else. The final member of the triumvirate was Graham Little (no idea of his credentials but he is one of the newsreaders from Sky Sports News). This guy was really bad, and just appeared to be trying to be funny all evening. When Gunnar Nelson started out in a Karate stance, O'Connell likened it to Machida, the best Little could do was say 'some character from Street Fighter II', when they talked about Alan Omer studying from youtube, Little piped up with how he studied to cook a pork casserole from youtube (WTF?), and he spent an awful lot of time trying to make fun of Peter Duncan's pink shorts and purple hair. I would certainly ditch this joker from the next broadcast as he adds nothing, and by having a two man announcing team will save them from talking over each other.

The best fight on the card was Mike Ling vs Russell Smith which was an all action one rounder that Ling won via rear naked choke. Ling has a real chance of at least getting a crack in the big league, as this win took him to 6-0, but he is 6' 7'' and fights at Middleweight. Similarly to how Corey Hill got a shot due to his freakish dimensions, I think Ling will be offered a similar opportunity at some point.

A lot of the hype was surrounding Gunnar Nelson who I knew nothing about, but he is an undefeated 21 year old Icelander who they were even referring to as 'The Prodigy' (I hate it when MMA fighters have the same nicknames as someone else). He had also supposedly been training with various MMA camps including spending some time with BJ Penn and also Renzo Gracie. They played up his Grappling and Jiu-Jitsu game (supposedly defeated Jeff Monson), and if he is as good as they say he will clearly be making headway in the States before long. He was very composed in his fight here against Sam Elsdon, taking him down early before slowly transitioning to a rear naked choke which got the tap.

The final guy who looks to have a promising future is Alan Omer, the 21 year old German who won the BAMMA Featherweight title in the main event. He defeated Paul Reed who was 17 years his senior, and the announcers started going on about how Reed had the experience factor over Omer, despite the fact that he only had one more fight than his German opponent. An interesting note, and I have no idea if this is true, is that supposedly Reed convinced Omer to have this fight over 5 five minute rounds rather than 3. Well Reed ended up tapping to a triangle in the fourth round in a fight that he probably would have won had it gone to decision after three.

The other fights to air were a pretty dull AJ Wenn/Ali McClean fight that was declared a split draw (I had McClean winning), a fairly blah Peter Duncan decision over Alexander Izidro from the prelim card, and Rob Sinclair's first round knockout of Nathan Beer.

The next card, which they hyped pretty heavily, is set to be headlined by Alex Reid vs Tom Watson. I don't see 'the Reidanator' having a hope in hell's chance of winning this one.

  16. Rio Heroes was all over the net a few years ago, it was on internet PPV or something, there was a lot of controversy surrounding it.

Some of the later shows (like Rioheroes 12/13) were, as I was trying to find a bit of information on the promotion after watching some of the first disc. This first show I have is a clone of a retail release, but I have no idea if it was a US release or from elsewhere.

  17. And Magnum, that Rioheroes stuff sounds mental. This is the first I've heard of it.Where did you find that?

I got it from a guy in Australia. I dont think it has ever been released over here, but the guy I got it from is sending me a bunch of the later shows aswell.

  18. Rioheroes 1-4: The Raw Beginning

I got hold of copy of this Rioheroes DVD that covers the first four shows and this is Brazilian Vale Tudo/NHB at its most primitive. No idea of when this took place, or who the participants are as there is no information even up on Sherdog, but I would guess 2006/7.

When I say primitive this has to be seen to be believed, as the first 'event' is held on what appears to be an empty car park, with mats placed on the floor. It is bare knuckle combat, and there is only a handful of people watching (like some underground fight club), and several of those are the participants. It appears to be anything goes (within reason) as headbutts, 12-6 elbow strikes etc are all legal, and the fight takes place on these small mats and if you venture off them onto the concrete, then the fight gets restarted on the mat.

I have only watched the first two events so far, but the real interesting stuff is in their second show, where they have moved off the abandoned car park and the fights take place in a gym. The first fight in the second show sees the fight actually halted after a guy takes a tumble backwards trying to avoid a punch, and stumble into a glass window which then breaks and falls on top of him. Fortunately, he is not badly hurt, and just has one nasty looking cut to the top of his head, but things could have been a lot worse. The main reason to watch this show is that it features a man vs woman fight. On first glance I thought it might have been some transexual (like that famous Thai kickboxer), but nope, it was definately a woman.

Sadly, no idea who the two combatants were but here is a brief overview of what actually went down. The guy is fairly dismissive of the girl at first as he just lets her hit him in the face a few times at first, he then throws a couple of kicks at her, but somehow she manages to tackle him to the ground. She then headbutts him repetitively, and mounts him for some more ground and pound. He manages to buck and roll, but she locks in a triangle quickly. He picks her up in the triangle position and slams her on the mat, but they end up going off the fighting parameters and it gets re-started standing. The woman again gets a take down, but the guy manages to get her in a guillotine. She pops out of this and then maneuvres into an arm bar. The guy is about to tap, but it certainly looks as though he doesn't, but they stop the fight anyway (maybe he quit verbally) and the woman is declared the winner. The guy protests this (and it definately looked as though he didn't tap, even though he was going to), but to no avail, and the woman cuts a brief promo in Spanish. The guys face is pretty battered as are the girls knuckles.

I will try and watch the remainder of the shows this evening, but it is certainly something different to what an MMA fan will expect to see today.

  19. It was on SS3 from 2002-2005, if I remember correctly. It was something like that anyway.

I think it ended in 2003

Wrong. Watts Era was still on in the Autumn of 2004.

I don't remember it being on as far as 2005 so it must have been dropped as part of the Jan 2005- Dec 2009 Sky deal.

Forgive me for not believing a word that you post, as first you claim it ended in 2003 and now you say 2005. If you dont know, just dont post. You really do your self no favours.

  20. the biggest problem with them is the quality. I have a full Fedor fightography, but the older stuff has some awful quality. Its better for newer stuff because the fights are being capped in HD or whatever, but some of the older stuff is bad.

I think a lot depends on the comp maker, how much footage they try to squeeze on a disc, and the availability of the show. For example, on that Penn comp I was talking about even some of the UFC footage used is ropey, and that is available in perfect quality. You should be able to pick up a really nice complete comp of Fedor's fights, as I know all his Rings fights are available in very good quality.

  21. Penn vs Machida is one I've been meaning to watch for a while.Keep meaning to get some of them Hero's DVDs.

I'm gonna seek out the remainder of the non-UFC Penn fights now. I was a fan when they happened, but the fight were not as readily available as they are now.

I wanna get the BJ vs Renzo fight from K-1 in Hawaii 2005 on DVD.I think it's on youtube but it's not the same to me.

The only other fights he had outside UFC were Duane Ludwig from K-1 and the Gomi and Rodrigo Gracie fights from the Rumble On The Rock DVD set.

It's just the Renzo and Ludwig fights that are tricky to find.

yeh, ive got the Gomi fight here to watch, never seen it in it's entirity. Marc Laimon called it one of the most complete MMA performances he's ever seen.

I never saw either of the Gracie fights.

I have got a career comp of Penn fights that I picked up several years ago (goes up to Penn/Hughes II), and both the Ludwig and Renzo fights are on it (although the latter looks like a download). I am not really a fan of the comps as they constantly need updating, but I know some MMA traders who are really keen on them.

  22. MMAJunkie are reporting that Bellator have a press conference scheduled for Monday, where they will announce the signing of Roger Huerta for their Lightweight tournament. Apparently he was released from his UFC contract, and that will enable him to sign with Bellator.
