  1. So he's used company money to pay them and not declared it which is bad but...

It's a publically traded company which means its accounts are audited and if the books balanced with that undeclared money then shenanigans have occurred and he's in real shit.

Who'd have thought that the one successful business Vince ever managed to create would be the one to sink him.

Swap Doom with Kang, and I think that's probably where they're going.

I'm not so sure. You can't really have a plot line that messes with the status quo until you've set up what that status quo is.

I'm hoping we get an already established FF team from a different part of the multiverse so we don't have to have yet another origin story.

They've now classed this as the multiverse saga and apart from the 1 different universe they spent a little bit of time in in Dr Strange and the other spideys, we haven't really seen anything of it so they need to go all in and have Kang wrecking established universes. In a perfect world the fantastic four movie opens with the Fox films version getting annihilated by Kang and then skipping to a new universe with our new FF team.

Id still be all in for Kangs first proper appearance being him killing Hugh Jackman's Wolverine or some other Fox Xmen. You want a Thanos level threat with a lesser known character, that's how you establish it.

On a Friday evening when the hope is the journos are in the pub for the weekend and less likely to try and find out what’s happened.

Start of comic con weekend where a massive overlap of his target audience and media will be spamming updates from that. Great time to attempt to bury bad news. The old ghoul is going to get accused of something horrendous

Yeah I get the time jump. I just thought that seeing as the line directly before it was about how one day you'll wake up and you won't think about Howard that this is that day. After however long the time jump was he is now fully Saul as the guilt over Howard was the last remnant of Jimmy.

  5. Another cracking episode from Better Call Saul. The jarring jump to him going full Saul was sad but I'm assuming it was

    Spoiler

A reference to it being the first day he didn't think about Howard.

  6. Just went to see Pulp Fiction in the cinema. The gf had never seen it and went in blind. She loved it and it was great to watch for the first time in probably a decade. Not a bad performance in it (apart from QT obviously) and the Sam Jackson / Travolta dynamic is still wonderful.

It'll always suck that we never got the the Vega brothers spin off film

  7. Ms Marvel last episode

As a series I really liked it. It never quite managed to re-hit the heights of the first 3 episodes and the family dynamic and community was the best part of it and genuinely felt different to everything else. When they actually started doing the superhero stuff in eps 4 and 5 it actually felt like a CW show, which isn't a knock on them, it just felt generic, especially the action and CGI. It felt very 'TV'

The lead is a natural and considering it was the first series that didn't have an established star/ character it did a great job and looking forward to seeing what they do with her.

    Also...

    Spoiler

They just casually introduced mutants into the MCU in a throwaway line and a musical cue.

I'm hoping to go and see Thor tomorrow but I've heard very mixed reviews. Rather than assuming this is down to Marvel, I've kind of felt its something to do with Taika Waititi becoming insufferable and disappearing up his own arse?

It's not far off. The stuff they let him do in Ragnorak was so well received that they seem to have given him free reign and it's gone too far. I've seen people complain that it's a comedy, but it's not. It comes across as one of those unrated or alternative cuts of a movie, where they add in the ad-libs to make different scenes, except they used the unfunny ones. It really could have done with someone to oversee it to say 'these are your key scenes and structure, these are the scenes you can piss about in' It's 100% a movie that's been made in the edit and it shows (to the point there's a Variety clip of Taika talking and Tessa points out the shot they used of her is from a different scene and he didn't notice. I'm not sure if that's because it was shot during Covid and most of the people weren't in the same room but there's something off about the whole thing.

  9. CITV usually won the daytime summer holiday war with Ducktails, Gummy Bears, Gargoyles and all their bought in Disney stuff (They also had the Disney Club on the weekend, which was shit)

BBC would usually end up playing the old Children's Films Foundation movies to pad out the mornings so you'd get a young Keith Chegwin prancing round as Robin Hood Junior or Sammy's Super T-Shirt...

I was thinking “what’s with all the Cloverfield Paradox hate?”, then realised I was mixing it up with 10 Cloverfield Lane which was pretty decent up until it fell off a cliff in the last 15 minutes

They did the exact same thing with that. It was an unrelated film that they added the ending to, to tie it into cloverfield.

  11. He's bang on trend for the marvel system. Made a few well received lower budget films (ignoring Paradox) and is bought in to work under the studio system.

Don't judge him on Paradox. He made a $5million Sci Fi movie which mid way through production the studio decided was going to be retrofitted to a cloverfield movie. The budget was upped to throw in more effects. Its a very odd situation for a director to be in. Check out Luce which has a lower budget and is a decent film.

  12. Howard could have easily been a typical 'greed is good' rich prick but he never was. He had absolute faith in Chuck, to the point he was willing to ruin Jimmy's future because Chuck wanted nothing to do with him and was willing to be the bad guy so Jimmy wouldn't lose faith in Chuck. His genuine disappointment in Kim shows he only ever wanted the best for her and the way he treated her is probably rhe only bad thing he did under his own steam.

In a series full of horrendous people, I don't think he was one of them.

  13. Better Call Saul is now 2 for 2 in leaving me feel empty at the end of an episode. It's just wonderful

    Spoiler

I do think the 'what happens to Kim' is just fucking with people now. It's like Hot Tub Time Machine where they keep expecting the guy to lose his arm and it never happens. Kim literally racing to shoot Gus in his own house which is filled with armed security to save Jimmy's life. This is it..... Nope!

I'm badly behind on Phase 4. Can't watch Spider Man No Way Home yet as its not on anything that we have streaming (free) and aren't going to pay to rent it on Prime Video, cant watch Dr Strange yet until we have. Have forced mrs raid to start watching Loki because I understand that its better to watch that and WandaVision before we start watching the movies that deal with the "multiverse" idea.

CAN anyone who sees Love And Thunder let me know if there is much "multiverse" stuff going on, in particular allusions to things that have already happened, or would mrs raid and I be ok using our free O2 tickets to go see it this Sunday?

You can watch Multiverse of Madness without seeing Spider-Man, there's no massive spoilers in it (and MoM was originally going to be released before Spider-Man before they swapped things round and would have made waaaaaay more sense.)

EDIT - @chokeout There’s talk of getting an older Labour MP in a safe seat, preferably up north, to “Retire”. It’ll trigger a by-election and will get Burnham in so he can be leader in time for the election.

That would be as perfect a solution as I could hope for....which probably means they won't do it.

  16. It'd be the best thing for Starmer. He get's to say he was found innocent until the opposition pushed for another investigation and he gets to walk away as a man of principal who stands by his word because they aren't going to win a general election with him in charge. He's not bad, he's just a void of nothingness who sounds like Toasts brother from Toast of London. I honestly can't see anyone in Labour that can replace him at the minute.

  17. Annnnd he's gone, except he hasn't. Will resign but stay on till the autumn. We now get a lame duck period with every cunt under the sun peacocking to put themselves forward for the leadership race.
