  1. I love The Shining, its an amazing film but I hate the mental gymnastics that some fans will go through to add layers to it and refuse to believe that some things are just what they are.

The obsession over the layout of the hotel by some is the peak of it (Not you Pat) You're building a set that has to look bigger than it is in a big shed in the middle of the UK and it needs to contain all the rooms connected because the director is obsessed with using his new glidecam and you've got people saying the windows are in the wrong place for reasons! I'm 100% convinced that the managers office is where it is because that's where it would fit.

  2. Everything Everywhere All at Once

Pure madness that got close to falling apart towards the last 20 minutes. The fact it is in anyway coherent is a testament to the directors. Everyone puts in a cracking shift with Ke Huy Quan especially fantastic. I genuinely broke out in a massive smile when he said his first line, it's been nearly 40 years and his voice was unmistakable.

Now ill be gutted if he doesn't get at least a cameo in the new Indy film. Him and Ford interacting will legitimately break me.

  3. Even if you ignored the alcohol and his age, It blows my mind he can even move, there can't be many more (if any) people alive that have actually taken more bumps than him. I know a lot of his matches were built around smaller bumps and the figure four but He was coming off the top onto that hip for decades. He should have be in a far worse state years ago.

  4. Hilarious statement from WWE. It'll not go anywhere but imagine them having to justify that 'we regret we were unable to deliver, as advertised, tonight's main event' and blaming talent in court. It'd take literally minutes to pull up hundreds of examples of them not delivering what they advertised because Vince went mental 30 minutes before show time.

  5. If they’re doing a proper anniversary then they need to just have a vague ‘time is being displaced and pulling the doctors and ageing them’ storyline and have as many as they can in it. The old boys doing their greatest hits is far more appealing to me than Catherine Tate showing up again. It’s the BBC though, they’ll aim for epic and have it looking like an episode of Babylon 5

I don't think theres a person I detest more on this planet than Jacob Rees-Mogg.  Just the epitome of everything I hate about modern society. I bet his breath fucking reeks too.

Probably the first and last time the word 'modern' will ever be used with that lanky fop

  7. Watched Dr Strange MoM this morning. Spoiler free, its pretty good. Was never going to live up to the insane hype and speculation which is sadly becoming a trademark of the marvel franchise and its all over the place plot wise.

strange has become the tired dad of the MCU which is getting closer to his comic character, the reshoots and inserts are very obvious and Strange’s wig is getting a 9.5 on the Nic Cage scale.

the girl playing America Chavez is great. I’ve not seen her in anything else so not sure how long she’s been around but she more than held her own

however it’s main plus is that Disney have given Sam Raimi the budget to essentially make a horror film and it goes full Raimi a bunch of times. There’s a bunch of shots in this that could be lifted straight from Darkman and they are glorious. Hokey compositions, POV shots, jump cuts and crash zooms. It’s got the lot.

I love Regal and everything but I'm finding these rambley BCC promos a bit... daft?

"We will take you down... and, we will... hurt you... and inflict punishment..."

The closing shot of him grimacing with Moxley and Danielson behind him was great but the verbiage is the wrestling equivalent of a motivational quote generator.

There's a cracking 1 minute promo in there somewhere.

I watched A Simple Plan last night and Billy Bob Thornton in that movie is absolutely heartbreaking. What a performance.

All 3 of the leads in that are fantastic but Thornton is obviously the stand out. Just wonderful. Such a great little film and during that odd run from Sam Raimi where he went from OTT madness to 3 low key studio films in a row.

  10. Ozark is the biggest casualty of trying to film during COVID, there’s whole scenes of terrible green screen with multiple characters that were obviously not in the same room. There’s a shocking example of a scene with a freeze frame of Jason Bateman being used (I’ve not gone back to see if it’s real but if it is...wow)

it speaks volumes for the quality of the acting that it wasn’t worse.

  11. AEW is very good at making promo videos but they have a horrible habit of just assuming people watch everything, regardless of where they put it. They've done entire angles based off the BTE show which is never even shown or referenced on the main show.

Vignettes and pre taped promos are a huge part of wrestling and they are idiots for not incorporating them properly. They are the easiest way to build characters and angles in a controlled way. Imagine going to the effort of making a great 7 minutes promo for a match then never actually putting it (or a condensed version) out on your A-show.

Pat summed it up perfectly. There's plenty of matches that could lose a minute or 2 without suffering. You used to get the same build up videos shown on Raw and Smackdown and it was never detrimental.

I haven't rewatched any of it since first viewing - which is that?

I'll guess it's 'The Lost Sister' which was the attempt at a weird backdoor pilot for a spinoff

  13. Better Call Saul continues to be amazing and packed with stunning performances but I could not be more pissed off because

    Spoiler

Fucking netflix put a warning at the start for strong language, violence (fine!) and suicide, which totally ruined the tension in the end. I was gutted.

  14. Robocod was huge at the time, I think because they chucked the demo (probably the santa themed levels) on every magazine they could so it was in high demand for christmas

My lasting memory will always be Joe Micros, the tiny computer game shop in Rhyl, not having any copies and tricking everyone's mums into buying old copies of James Pond and telling them it was Robocod. They were notorious for not giving refunds, which led to quite a few angry dad's kicking off.

    The Batman.

Yeah it's a bit too long but I enjoyed it well enough.

    Really liked the final act.

Fuck off with that Joker tease, though.

    Spoiler

There’s a deleted scene between the two that was supposed to be about half way through the movie. It would have killed the movie dead because people would have just been expecting his involvement later in the film. It also just telegraphed the Riddler identity in the least subtle way of all time.

Can't go wrong with an 8bitdo controller, especially the pro versions. Probably the best third-party controller when it comes to balancing quality with price. As Pat pointed out, it works great with a Pi set-up but also works real well on phones too. Where did you get that one, if you don't mind me asking? £18 is a good price!

    Think thats the same one

  17. It's going to be a court case of soundbites that will probably ruin them both for a few years, because nothing positive is going to come from either of them trying to make the other look like a wrong 'un. Although saying that Warner Brothers have bizarrely stuck with Amber Heard, no matter what shit has come out. They also seem to see nothing wrong with human bin fire Ezra Miller and their antics.

Depp will get his little redemption in a low budget film in a few years and everyone will forget about it.

From whats been admitted by them both so far, He's hanging a lantern on the fact that he's never physically abusive, like it's an instant win, despite it being mentioned many times that he's an unpleasant person under the influence and other types of abuse don't exist.

Both nasty pieces of work who came together like a toxic Voltron to make a terrible marriage.

The only positive so far is that they described shitting on the bed as 'dropping a grumpy'
