  1. I never really got into Rebels so a lot of the back story is lost on me (and many others I would imagine) but Ray Stevenson as a fallen Jedi is the sort of stuff I want. His casual blaster deflections and looking like a knight back from the crusades is the sort of stuff that ticks my boxes. I'll be gutted whatever the ending is for his character as I'd have loved to see more of him.

  2. Romita has discussed in interviews that he started his run with Marvel trying to carry on Spider-man in Kirbys style but his second run, when he started to bring in his own look changed Spider-man's look and feel and is as iconic as anything the character ever did.

    I mean...

Probably one of the most important comic book artists of all time and, if the stories coming out about are true, a true gent who couldn't do enough for the upcoming artists that followed him.

Saw Charlie Day’s directorial debut/new film Fool’s Paradise was out, so thought I’d watch it. Always Sunny fans will love the cameos. Charlie Day clearly thinks he’s making a modern day Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keaton film and completely misses the mark. Just not funny.

The most underwhelmed I've been with a film for quite some time. A waste of good cameos and is a 40min short stretched out. Just left me feeling 'meh' at times it felt like it didn't know what it was supposed to be.

    Recent watches.

Black Adam (first watch) - As by the numbers as you can get. He spent years on this, poor sod. Only watched it a few weeks ago and I’ve completely forgotten who the villain was.

His weird retcon that he had always loved this character and how it spoke to him for years as a person of colour was absolute bullshit and bordering on offensive (the fact that people have found tweets from the same time he did his announcement pitching other DC characters the same way just makes him look a bit of a dick in hindsight) . Such an odd choice to sink an entire franchise by trying to pitch a c level villain as an anti hero then refuse to acknowledge his main antogonist (who had a movie coming out the same year) just odd.

He signed on to do the movie. In 2014! 9 years and that's what they came up with.

  4. Just watched Spiderverse in IMAX and it's just fantastic. The love and style that goes into every frame is just lightyears ahead of everything Disney is doing in its cookie cutter animation at the moment (the trailer for elemental played before and even Pixar films feel like a parody of themselves now) , the script is solid, the performances are great and it's a love letter to comic book nonsense. All the stars!

  5. Not strictly time travel but there’s a zero budget film called Timelapse that I rewatched recently. 3 people discover their neighbour has been taking photos of them through the window but the photos always show what’s happening 24 hours in the future. The neighbour is dead because he tried to changed the future so they are stuck having to do whatever they see in the photos. It’s a cool idea that feels like an Outer Limits episode.

Wrestlers Erick Redbeard/Erick Rowan and JR Kratos are in the new series of I Think You Should Leave. There was a third wrestler who I couldn't identify, but may have been Ryan Nameth. Brody King was in the last series, so reckon someone's a wrestling fan on the staff.

I could be wrong but is this a photo of the UK's own Johnny Kidd in this sketch?

was it Dixon and All Star who used to have the nicked (???) WCW ring apron for shows?

I know Orig Williams did because he got a cease and desist after WWE bought them out but was still using them on the camp shows in Prestatyn (they were also about twice the size of the ring he was using)

  8. Muppets Mayhem is the best TV series the Muppets have produced since the original and it's amazing. After so many failed attempts at figuring out how to make a muppet series work they finally managed to capture some magic. No cameos outstay their welcome (most are popping up for less than 20 seconds) and any series where the Electric Mayhem decide to record a mumble rap version of Rockin Robin to stay relevent is an instant win.

  9. Reads like it's a 3 person team at the top with Emanuel having final say.

Vince hasn't had someone tell him his ideas are stupid for 40 years, Emanuel is, by all accounts, a nightmare to deal with. This is going to be fun to watch implode. I give it 12 months before 'Vince takes a step back'

  10. Kill list is Dogshit, legitimately one of the worst films I've ever seen and I think Ben Wheatley is one of the most overhyped directors of the last decade. It belongs nowhere near a top ten. I'd chuck a Field In England in the bin as well. I'm glad he's stuck directing The Meg 2

Assuming that they do sack him off - and you assume they'd have to - then the "Multiverse" aspect can cover a multitude of sins; it gives them an out to recast pretty much any character as just an alternate version of themselves, and handwave away why this is the main one now. There are few characters easier to recast in that regard than someone like Kang.

The downside to that is that he was being geared up as a major villain across multiple movies, and has likely filmed a bunch of stuff already that they'd need to can and reshoot. But it's Disney, I'm sure they'll cope.

Totally agree but they really made it difficult for themselves by

    Spoiler

having a scene at the end of Ant man with him portraying every variant of himself

Married At First Sight Australia (Season 6)

Normally, I hate this kind of shit but a few people had said how the Australian version is unlike all the others so we've given it a go. Six was apparently the best season so we jumped straight into there.

We've just watched the first dinner party and they're now all moving in together and I AM ALL IN ON THIS!

My girlfriend is obsessed with this. The sheer volume of episodes per series is mind blowing (32 episodes, all of the between 60 and 90 minutes) and it follows the cracking formula of putting the very worst type of fame seekers you'd hate to have in Big Brother and matching them up.

The last season had a cracking episode where someone cheated on her partner because they didn't have a deep connection. The things she liked were EDM, the gym and breakfast.
