  1. Just being reminded about Surprise, Surprise (and it's fucking annoying theme tune) has sent me into a rage. ITV was top stuff during the middle of the day in the 90's, you had a nice combo of Airwolf, Knight Rider, Gladiators, then it would just turn into the most depressing shit. "Surprise, Surprise", Blind Date, and fucking Barrymore. Just awful stuff.

  2. I think a "pulling" show was just the natural fit for the type of character he is. I've linked to my episode below in case anyone is interested (probably not). I honestly don't see anything sinister in the show, I am open to be educated by anyone that does. It's nothing like Julien Blanc's stuff witch is genuinely sinister. I do come across as you may expect a social awkward 28 year old wrestling fan to.

Before "Dapper" he was a estate agent from Clapham, so even even without the creation of the character a lot of people would think he was a cunt anyway.

That episode reminded me of this

  3. I can't help but feel this has all been blown out of proportion by those who believe their social barometer is the only acceptable one.

It'd be interesting to see if a thread about the institutional genital mutilation of babies in certain religions would make it to 8 pages. I certainly find it more morally repugnant than yet another comedian who oversteps the mark.

I think you're actually fairly close to the crux of the issue here and I think why it gets more outrage. The reason this is getting more attention is because it is appealing to the lowest common denominator, i.e. the thickos of society. Unfortunately, the thickos cannot distinguish satire and so instead look at Dapper as "what a top lad he's my hero". That starts to become dangerous because then the morons are roaming the streets going "alright babes, get your laughing gear round this eh" Dapper-esque stuff before getting high-fives from their equally dumb friends.

  4. How does everyone tackle a pie? (A proper one with a base that is). I eat mine like a total spacker. I chisel the lid off and put it aside. I then eat the contents out and then remove the pastry sides and eat those. Finally I consume the delicious soggy base followed by eating the lid like a cracker. Yeah, it's weird.

Needless to say I do not eat a pie like that in public.

  5. Frey Bentos pies are alright in a quick fix, but the main issue I have with them, and numerous other pies is ones where it's just a pastry lid. A pie should be fully enclosed in pastry, not just a lid. I hate it in pubs when you order a pie and you can tell they've just scooped some filling into a dish and popped some pastry on top.

That being said, real men are all about the steak & kidney pudding. Double hard if you polish off one of those and have a suet based pudding for desert.

  6. Okay, 911 talk is officially banned in this (and any other) thread.

It's incredibly boring, and if you're demanding answers of "EXPLAIN THIS, THEN!" about things you think are unanswered, read through all 175 pages to find an old reply about it, as we've been over everything 911-related a million times here already.

TRYING TO COVER UP THE TRUTH

  7. I haven't seen very much of this LAD thankfully, but what is the reaction to it? Is this character being looked at like "what a saddo that guy is" or "he's well cool is Dapper"? Almost reminds me of Harry Enfield's Loadsamoney character. Supposed to be a "look at that twat" bit of humor but morphed into a loveable character somehow.
