  1. Atticus Boy (5/1) won so easily at Sedgefiled today it was the legal equivalent of stealing money from the bookies. A good day at the bookies was let down however by East Stirling continuing to do well, and Morecambe inexplicably beating Tranmere.

  2. BUMP.My dad was offered early retirement, a bit back, and, being the lazy bastard that he is took it with both hands. He got a tidy little payoff, and has decided to "invest" some of this by joining a well known "tipping line". His starter pack came today, and he got his first email this morning. They give 1 or 2 bets a day, and the only advice for today was EXCELLENT ART in the 2.50 at Lingfield. My Dad was advised to take the price, as "those in the know" will be wedging on it. He was advised a 10 point bet, and to take 9-2. It has just won at 11-4, so was obviously well fancied.I just thought that i'd share the tips that this tipping line gives him on here for a bit of a laugh, to see whether it is bollocks, or whether some people actually know a thing or two about gambling. On a different note altogether, its time to do my Lucky 15 for the four English League winners for the season. Anybody any recommendations?

I got a tip a few months ago to watch out for LAY THE CASH, which ran in the same race today. It was the outsider at 25/1, and its form was questionable if not non-existent. Placed 2nd at 25/1, so my e/w bet paid well.
  3. I was watching a match on YouTube yesterday (Val Venis vs Tiger Ali Singh, and it did indeed suck) and after the match the Acolytes came down and proceeded to beat down Tiger and the hapless Babu. They were managed by someone i didnt quite recognise - it may have been Don Callis but i'm not sure. However, i have no recollection of them teaming before the Ministry of Darkness. So, was it Don Callis that was managing them, and, if so, how did they end up leaving him and joining the Ministry?

  4. Upon scouring through old WCW TV results, i've came across the following undercrad wrestlers who i know very little about. I've got a little bit of info from obsessedwithwrestling, but i wondering if anyone had any more info. Can anyone tell me how long there were in the company, and what else they have done in wrestling before and after?Craig PittmanKurasawaBobby WalkerMaxx MuscleBig Ron StuddJerry FlynnScott Putski (i know of his short WWF run, but not anything else)Tokyo MagnumEmory HaleLash LerouxDisorderly ConductReno

  5. Kazakhstan 2 Serbia 1..coupon down at the first hurdle.Tip for tomorrow, put as much as you can afford on Morton to beat Forfar at 2/5. Forfar have sacked their manager, 2 players are AWOL, one player is suspended and three (including their best player) are out injured.

  6. Not going all that badly in the betting this afternoon. Winning bets so far are Harare (9/2) at the 14:50 Wolverhampton and River City (33-1 e-w, placed 3rd) in the 3:15 Cheltenham. I have Nation State in the next race at Cheltenham.

  7. Well i had the mother of all accumilators yesterday yesterday, had a fiver onSimon - won at 11/2 (Took 6/1 earlier)Littlebighorse - won at 15/2Nil Desperandum - won at 6/1Cusoon - won at 11/2 i am now over 13 and a half grand richer than Friday :D :D :D

    Course you did.
Ok i didn't, because you know me and were with me when i was in the bookies Saturday, or went to pick the Cheque up today
The fact that the accumulator adds up to just under 12k leads me to doubt the story.
    It adds up to
  8. Stenhousemuir buggered up my accumulator yesterday by conceding 4 second-half goals to lose 5-2 at home to Montrose. Just taken Celtic at 11/5 to win within 90 mins against Caley (currently 1-0 down)

    Celtic 2 Caley 1.
  9. I have 10 quid on Sporting Lisbon away to Pacos Ferreira at 8/11. Sporting look a tad overpriced as they have won their last two games 5-1 and 6-0 and havent lost at all since their last Champions League game. Pacos Ferreira are 6th in the league and did beat Sporting earlier in the season, but their recent form has been indifferent and should lose tonight.I also have a tenner on Necaxa to beat Monterrey away in the Mexican Clausura. Monterrer has had a bad start so far with only one win and 2 goals in 4 games. Their solitary win was against bottom of the table Santos Laguna. Necaxa's record against Monterrey inst great, but they have started much better in the league and should win against a side short of confidence.EDIT: Necaxa are 5/2 with Hills, worth going for.

  10. :yinyang: When/Why was the "Saturday Night Shotgun" show cancelled

I think it became "Jakked" sometime in late 1999. I think that became Velocity when they did the brand split in 2002. I'm asumming the name change in 1999 was probably so that they wouldnt be associated with gun crime etc.EDIT: I just found "Jakked" results from 1999-2002 here if anyones interested in themOWW-Jakked Results. They have some pretty weird tag teams and some relatively well-known jobbers in there.
  11. I read an alarming article in a paper today (either the Sun or Daily Record- nothing highbrow) that contained a quote from a fellow prostitute in the area along the lines of "we are all worried, but we still need to work in order to get money for drugs"

What were you expecting them to say? "I'm a bit scared about the murders and all, but I love being a pro so much I can't stop"My best friend, who has a shelf of books about Peter Suttcliffe, is far too excited about all this. I'm going to shop him.
It wasnt all that unepxected, as drug addiction and prostitution are often linked to each other. I just found it rather alarming that someone was willing to continue working in such a manner despite the obvious risks.A more sensible thing to do would be to say: "There's a much bigger chance than usual i might get killed if i work tonight, so i wont"
  12. I read an alarming article in a paper today (either the Sun or Daily Record- nothing highbrow) that contained a quote from a fellow prostitute in the area along the lines of "we are all worried, but we still need to work in order to get money for drugs"The serial killer is either some nutter "cleaning up the streets" or a very disgruntled former client. Is it 3 dead, 2 reported missing and one other possibly connected death so far?

  13. Yesterday i had a 5-team accumulator:Brighton (2/5) W 3-0 at home to StaffordCowdenbeath (11/10) W 4-2 at home to StranraerWolves (7/5) W 1-0 away at SouthendSouthampton (6/4) W 4-2 away at HullBlackpool (6/4) W 2-0 away at MK Dons

  14. :yinyang: Who was involved in the first triple threat match ever to happen in WWF/WWE. And also who was involved in the first triple threat match ever broadcast on PPV.

I think the first Triple Threat match on PPV (in WWE at least) was Faarooq vs Crush vs Savio Vega on Ground Zero in July or August 1997.I'm sure there was a Patriot vs Triple H vs Savio match on Raw the night afterwards as well.
  15. "Warrior took The Disciple under the ring. After hearing about Curt Hennig two weeks ago(went to the bathroom under the ring which was so gross it the two wrestlers hiding under the ring with him throw up)I don't even want to think about what Hellwig and Ed Leslie were doing down there. They probably brought their portable VCR so they could study the latest Japanese movesto incorporate into their future matches"- The Wrestling Observer Newsletter: September 21, 1998

    Hennig shat under the ring?!
You never heard that story? Hennig and two other guys (I think one was Scott Hall) had to hide under the ring so they could make an unexpected appearance later in the show. Obviously they had to be under there from before the audience came in, so were there for a few hours. Nature took it's course, and Hennig took a shit in a bucket. The other two guys threw up. I'm starting to think that Warrior may have been one of the other guys under the ring. Might have to look it up to check.
I'm pretty sure it was Scott Norton and Warrior under the ring with Hennig. And can we have some more WCW hilarity posts in the future please!
  16. Sunday, December 17th 2006 from Richmond, VirginiaThree upcoming WWE ppvs in the space of four weeks.Remember when WWF ppvs were a special occasion? :(

On reading the WWE PPV link, i noticed the Royal Rumble is in San Antonio, TX. Now, i read about 6 months ago that Shawn Michaels was due some time off for surgery. Is this scheduled to happen any time soon? If not, does anyone know what WWE have planned for the hometown boy at the Royal Rumble?
