  1. Didn't Roadwarrior Animal 'design' most of Sting's facepaints?

I remember in The Roadwarrior shoot, they mentioned how it was them that first got Sting (it what ever guise) wearing facepaint

Sting mentioned in his WCW video, that they started doing the face paint because the roadwarriors where very over at that time, and in his own words "because we were so bad, we decieded to paint our faces a little bit to get noticed". He did mention it only started as "black lips/eye paint" but he does his own face paint any other time, which id expect includes designs!

Blade runners: (Warrior on the left, Sting on the right)

  2. And Warrior and Sting came into the business together too didn't they? I believe they got the face-paint from being in the same tag-team?

Indeed. The Blade Runners. Warrior was Rock, Sting was first Flash, then became Sting.

I think it the face-paint came from them being in Powerteam USA first, didn't it? And then when the other two of the four founding members left, they became the Blade Runners.

Not 100% sure, but in the Sting wcw video (~!) sting mentions they started painting there faces to be a little bit liek the road warriors. He mentions the ultimate warrior as his partner, but only really references to the blade runners.

  3. El Santo pisses all over Hashimoto in the biggest name never to work in New York stakes in my eyes. I don;t think he worked for the McMahons to my knowledge.

Am most likely wrong, although im sure he may of done a "one off" for them way way back. Will check it out!

Edit: Could find any evidence, although i may be thinking of Mil Mascaras!

Yeah, Mil Mascararas eliminated himself from the 1997 Royal Rumble. About that "Biggest Wrestler To Never Work For WWE" role, could it be Jushin Thunder Liger or The Great Muta?

Really? how old was he in 1997?

I was reffering to Mascaras wrestling in WWE way back when it may of been WWWF, although again i may be thinking of sombody else.

  5. is it sting or not, the rating wont go up. never a rating winner or ppv attraction, hes was the nearly guy

    mark

Apart from setting the wrestling PPV record in 1997, being a constant television ratings winner throughout 1996-98 and being the only person in TNA to make a difference to there audience viewership upon his arrive, of course. Minor details, but worth mentioning.

ppv record was great and built around sting - he bombed as champion (AGAIN)

    a rating winner - how ?

if he was great he could have saved WCW and one of reasons it failed

    mark

    How so mark?

As in WCW he didnt "Bomb" as champion, as he was the face of WCW, who in tunr where fueding with the NWO. He was a very successful champion if i remeber rightly. Sting was a big draw in WCW, although the reason it went under was a mix of to many top line guys havign a say in there matchs (hogan being the main one i think) and the "Russorific" TV that was being put out towards the end, Not even steve austin could of saved the place from going down the pan mate.

Which to be fair saddend me as i was a big WCW fan back in the day, but in dying years where so over the top and random, that it was diabolical.......even for WCW. You can be the biggest name in the world, but bad storylines/TV output will make you look like a bellend. Take jeff hardy for example, in WWE most likely he was the biggest thing going. In TNA he's TNA's top guy, although in the wrestling world hes dropped down a few notches.

A few other minor ones are that hes a multi time worlds heavyweight champion, once part of the most popular tag teams of the mid 90's (himself and luger), as well as beign a part of the most popular group of all time (The wolpac). That bundled in with called the greatest wrestler ever by the likes of ric flair and even hulk hogan. Minor details, but of course hes a "Nearly guy".

  7. All the news sites (Meltzer, PWInsider, Jason Powell, etc.) are saying that as far as their sources know Sting does not have a contract with WWE or TNA. He's basically a free agent at this point, as far as the sheets know. Honestly, I'd take their word over some random New York newspaper that's never actually broken a wrestling-related piece of news before. But who knows, really. It could go either way. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I did see on most news sites that they didnt have a 100% answer on it, and this popped up during my search so take it or leave it. Bar that even though all the news does come out most times, WWE can keep stuff from the sheets when they really want to.

An example would be when edge turned up in the Elimination chamber few years ago replacing kofi kingston, i read they practised the spots with sheets over the chamber to stop people knowing who was in it. Again depends if thats true or not, but we'll ultimatly see i suppose.

  8. Dont know its it been mentioned here but according to http://www.examiner.com , sting has signed a 1 year deal with WWE.

After years of rumors and speculation, the impossible was confirmed on Tuesday. Both sources inside the WWE and the New York Daily News report that Sting has signed a one year contract with WWE.

WWE Examiner, which previously reported that Sting may leave TNA for WWE in early 2011, will provide further updates as this breaking story develops.

The pro wrestling blogosphere exploded three weeks ago with rumors that World Wrestling Entertainment CEO Vince McMahon had contacted the former WCW and TNA superstar Sting about not only a possible WWE Hall of Fame induction, but also a match - his first and only - in WWE.

Sting, whose real name is Steve Borden, had spent the last few months as a free agent after his TNA contract came to an end late last year.

The multiple-time WCW and TNA Champion is the only legend of the modern era never to have worked for Vince McMahon.

But McMahon and Sting are friends. Sting, in fact, has stated publicly that he and Vince have spoken many times and that WWE has extended multiple invitations to the WCW legend.

Making it more likely that Sting is set for a WWE debut is the news that followed Shawn Michaels' announced induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Last week, sources inside WWE claimed that Shawn Michaels is only one of three huge names set to be honored in the class of 2011.

The WWE Universe, however, will have a difficult time accepting Sting into the WWE Hall of Fame if the pro wrestling legend doesn't at least step into a WWE ring at least once. Asa result, there have been additional rumors suggesting that McMahon wants Sting to headline WrestleMania 27 in a match with his real life good friend and former WCW colleague, The Undertaker.

True or not, who knows? Does this relate to the promos? Again, who knows for sure.

  9. Considering the average Raw audience (notably different make-up to a ppv audience, especially RR or WM) how many people do you think will really get the enormity of a Sting appearance?

*EDIT; Also, if there is a generous portion of the audience expecting Sting then aren't they going to look stupid if its not, yet the fans start chanting 'WE WANT STING'. No one wins in that instance.

Thing is, not that long ago they presented the current demographics and it wasn't as child heavy as you think. In fact a large number of fans were considerably older.

Can't remember where it was from now and the source was never revealed, but I wouldn't be too surprised is Sting got a decent reaction.

Considering the reaction diesel got, (and i think it was for mainly for the fact he was diesel and not kevin nash), i wouldnt be suprised if he got a huge reaction from the crowd.

  10. If I was Scott Steiner, I'd be really pissed off right now. He's said a few times (like Nash) that he was in TNA to hang out with his mates and enjoy wrestling a bit, and being brought back into a reforming MEM must have sounded great.

Now he's there, and there's no Sting, no Booker, no Nash, and they're all whooping it up in WWE (a place forever closed to him now). Poor Poppa Pump.

Why is it forever closed to him?

Something to do with not liking many people there, mainly triple h i think. Although regardless of his situation, after WWE has now started doing stuff with savage and warrior again, id stick with the never say never attitude. Plus i think Scott has been a real team player for the past few yeears in TNA i believe.

  11. a few things ive heard over the net:-

    1. why would taker be coming back to raw

    2. he has been advertised for the 21st raw for a one off so why would they have a vignette for that

    3. its not your typical taker vignette, no flashback etc

All three are spot on, allthough in the same respect after watching it......i couldnt see how any of that has anything to do with sting either. The only thing i could that slightly relates to him in the trench coat.....which is very slim just based on that.

If it helps i think the person in the video was wearing "Cowboy" boots, which would be odd for the stinger i think. Again i hope it is him, but i wouldnt put money on it.

  12. Be amazing for TNA if Sting is still with them, all this buzz is like advertising for them when he returns. And if he has went to WWE, well they might have wished they got him tied up in another deal.

How so? No one's really mentioned TNA thus far. It's all, "Sting in WWE, OMFG match with Undertaker at WrestleMania! What? Oh, he's in TNA? Oh, OK then."

Im guessing anybody whos hyped about this is hyped about him coming to WWE to wrestle taker, s oas khemical said if he turns up in TNA, nobodu who is currently interested....will be interested!

  13. He doesn't seem too keen on lying down for the WCW superstars alumni club though!

Stings a different case. He isn't DDP or Booker T. He's a legit legend, who everyone in the business was either a fan of or respects. Sting was the main man in WCW and the golden boy of the promotion when Austin, Undertaker, Mick Foley, Kevin Nash and Triple H were nobodies or midcarders in WCW, and he was apparently cool as fuck to all of them and was the type of bloke who'd pay for the bill at the end of the night without telling anyone. I've never heard many bad words against the Stinger. Even Vince McMahon really likes him on a personal level, and thats says a lot considering he was the WCW figure head for years.

Alex wright has mentioned that whilst he was first signed with WCW, in the first few months......he didnt recieve any money, (he did end up getting his money, bit of a gaff on wcws part), but sting let Alex stay in his hotel rooms the whole time he was out of money. So thats awesome for a new guy to be treated so well by WCW's (or one of) top guys. I doubt that would happen anywher else.

Nothing of importance, but a little "Sting is cool" sort of thing

  14. I totally agree with the "nobody will care" comments, although if it turns out to be sting, id imagine wwe would slap together loads of promo videos that make sting look amazing.

When they want to, they can promote the hell out of something (Remeber ECW? Fair enough it was popular anyway, but WWE gave it the promo treatment and ONS became a huge deal.......although of course they went on to ruin it, but you get the idea), So especially for the kids i reckon we'd get some sort of history style promo, or a selection of promos, just to give people an idea of who he is.

  15. If it was Taker, it'd say "Undertaker returns on X date", where as this is trying to hide the person in question.

As for Jericho, although nobody really mentioned his stuff (the 2nd coming/matrix stuff) that was going on for ages, and also they did mention it as it was shown on raw/smackdown and even the clip shows. Not sure who else it'd be, as again i'd love it to be sting.

Sting vs Taker at mania? Taker would have to win for me, even though sting if my favourite wrestler of all time, it'd just be bad for WWE for sting to walk in and beat him. For some reason i'd also love to see the stinger get tombstoned, not sure why but i think that image would be a great one.

  16. I'm convinced there IS a breeding population of large black cats in this country - the circumstantial evidence has just piled up over the years, with hundreds of reputable sightings.

Hasnt There always been some form of "Big cat" lurking about? In which case i would of thought its some person(s) who have got hold of some form of large cat, then let it free if they couldnt handle it.

I cant say for sure, although i saw footage on the news once, from a guy who took it on his phone. It showed a large "cat" creeping out of some bushes behind his house, although it wasnt black it was more the colour of a lioness.

Edit: I think a "Lynx" (is it?) would be more closer to what was reported.

  17. dont know if anybody can find the trailer, but i saw a trailer for a film by the name of "The Loved ones", (i think!).

Its about a young girl who gets turned down for the school prom, so her dad kidnapps the boy in question and they both tourture him, whilst holding there own prom in her house. Sounds messed up and what made it worse for me was they had really nice sounding australian accents.....so it was like nicey nicey horror!

Check it out if you can!

  18. How long has the WWE logo on the WWE title been fixed secure, ie not able to spin?

Quite some time now, It only span during the first few months of the cena win really. Both edge and RVD had it whilst it span, but i think it was either randy orton or triple who won it some time after WM23 and it was fixed up with a bracket. May of been Orton in the end of 2008?

  19. has anyone ordered from pwg if so what are they like

I ordered from them a long time ago, (i think when jonny storm was over there for the all star weekend?), and got a decent deal on DVD's, (think it was 5 for X ammount). Good straight up service, it took a while coming from the states although i expected that.

Bar that it was good!
