  1. Wow, i was about to post a story i have, but that takes the fucking cake mate, i hope you gave your "mate" a slap for that, as to be honest that fucking dire!

Anyway, i went away for a date with an ex of mine a logn time ago. (it was to see an old fwa show, funniley enough the show in which the old FWA title belt was stolen i believe!), but when we got there afte X ammount of hours of travel etc, she said she wasnt feeling well and wanted to stay at the hotel.

She was putting it on as we'd disagreed on something on the way, so it took me another X ammount of hours to convince her to get out, so we could watch said show.

Anyway come show time we're in the front row, im enjoying it (as was she) , RJ singh gets thrown the the outside (then ross jordan), to which my ex pipes up very loudly "CURRY FOR TEA!". Well i was shocked, as was RJ singh who looked at her......then me. Wow is all i could muster the words to say, and needless to say, i didnt like her very much after that. Public embarressment in front of 2-300+ people, and one ofthe wreslters themselves.

So if you ever read this mr Singh, im a big fan of your work and not a racist, she on the otherhand, i cannot defend, and hence why i dont go out with her anymore.

But to be fair yours was better

  2. I think you're completely wrong about Se7en in many ways.

    1) Morgan Freeman is the best thing in the film by far. He is absolutely essential to the atmosphere of the film - it precisely needs his calmness and quiet demeanour to ensure it doesn't just become a lurid murder fest.

    2) The ending is cracking. You genuinely don't know what will happen and it is a great twist - as long as you haven't had it spoiled by some arsehole cousin before you've even seen it, grumble moan whine....

    3) Freeman is great during it as well, I don't really think he seems 'meh' about it at all.

    4) You doubt it would be anyone's favourite film? I think you'd be surprised, and I don't think you need to be a seasoned movie goer to appreciate how great a film it is. I've watched piles of films since I was 14 - I'm not saying Se7en is one of the very best that I've seen, but it's one of the better ones.

Dont get me wrong the film needs sombody like him, although i personally thought that when it came to that final scene with the box he seems still a bit flat although he is indeed trying to make a big statement. It needed somebody with alot of energy to play it like freeman, but then to give it the energy it needed in places.

Again its not the worst film ive ever seen, (ive seen by far worse ones), but it doesnt stand out to me as "an awesome movie" like some had told me it was. Again worth a watch, although im mainly saying its not as good as some make it out to be. I still think the best part is the whole chasing scene, when the killer turns up and opens fire and pitt makes the chase. I found that a whole lot more exciting that most of the movie in general. The final scene certanly adds to it, im mainly stating in the closing moments, where pitt is taken away.....it seems a bit "oh right, its finished".

Some good moments, very clever in places, great twists........just not as good as others had told me, and some moments could of been alot better IMPO.

  3. So this was on the TV last night, havent watched in a while, so though id give it a go!

    Se7en

I remebered most of the film as it started, but i totally forgot some major parts of it. I cant really say much other than if you havent seen it, its about a killer who is having people murderd via the 7 deadly sins. For example he makes a fat bloke eat until his stomach near-on explodes etc etc.

To be honest its good, and some bits alot better than others. I honestly thought one of the best bits was when brad pitt chases the killer through the apartment block. It got me wondering about what was going to happen. Bar that, pitt is good in it, morgan freeman is "ok", but i personally think this isnt his best film. He has his moments, but im not sure about him being in this film.......as he doenst really add alot to the "atmosphere" of the film. Even in the end scene he doenst seem that "bothered", even though hes pleading for somebodys life etc.

Bar that this film is, "ok", not as good as some make it out to be. Plus to be a bit frank, i thought the ending was a bit pants. The whole scene leading up to that was good, but the actual end of the film...was a bit flat considering the nature of the film.

Worth a watch, but i doubt it'd be anybodys fav film anny time soon, and if it is.....you havent seen enough movies.

    7/10

  4. Day: Yesterday

    Time: Evening

Audience: The good lady and I

Film: Get him to the Greek

    Rating: 4.5 stars

Comments: I love this film. It's an incredibly easy watch and features (for my money) one of the funniest scenes of any movie - The Jeffery scene. Brand is excellent, essentially playing himself and Jonah Hill is in the comfortable role of the over-weight, hanger on/schmuck he always is.

I'll agree with this, i thought it was decent watch, but it picked up by another 10 nothces at the jefferey scence. I laughed so much during this.

"stroke the walls, i wish i had a house made of this stuff"

  5. My final of the 3 for 3:

    Iron man 2

Well id allready seen it, but its a total geek-fest for me, and im sure many others. I wont get into which is the better film of the two (as i really couldnt say.), but of course Mr downey Jr rocks it up in this film, as does the actor who plays Justin Hammer, as i found myself so annoyed at how just.....pathetic he is, which then made me realise hes either a great actor or actually like that in real life. I'll go with actor to be nice!

As for the geek-ish ness, of course he has the suit-in-the-brief-case like from the old cartoons, and thus i nearly jizzed in my pants, and also of course.....WAR MACHINE!!!! Also adding in a breif cameo of captain americas sheild, (and the secret ending with thors hammer!!!).

Bar that some great stuff from micky rouke as always, and otherwise some great action all round.

    8/10 deffo worth a watch/buy/rent!

Agree about the geeking out over the hammer and the shield, that was pretty cool. War Machine, cool as all of that was, didn't get nearly enough of a slice of the action for me. For instance, that little battle at the end, I thought it could've lasted a little longer. But each to their own. I also felt a lot of the action took a while to come to fruition, whereas the first film had much better pacing and in my opinion a better story to it.

This is true, although i think in fairness the first being an "origin" story, it was bound to be set a certain way....mainly to last 2+ hours? Where as this one was builing on what was allready there, and although i do agree the battle could of been longer, in "movie" terms.....i think it was about right.

Totally agree on the war machiner front though!

  7. ^ Really? All my mates who have seen Paranormal Activity 2 say it was terrible, largely predictable and more set on attempting to shock people every minute than telling a good story.

Looks pretty poor by the adverts, then again I personally never rated the first one either.

No way dude, i honestly thought it was very good. For me personally it worked alot better than last years, and if anything the scary bits are the same style, again, as last year. There are no "cheap shots", and its all mainly down to anticipation to be hoenst. When you here the noise, its all going down!

For example last years was mildy ruined by the "oh look , ive found some shit about ghosts on the internet, and oh look hes a a video of it....although it happended in the 40's, and it clearly a picture of one of us doctored because the budget it low, and/or it doesnt really make a lot of sense and add to this film, does it?". Where as this year, they have come up with a ,(all be it a breifly mentioned one), story that bascially explains everything.

Bar that everything tis in perfectly with the first one, and even makes you go "aaaaaaaahhh" when you start connectiong the 2 films together.

Its well worth a watch as, if anything, although its the same sort of tricks as last year, some are done on a grander scale.....and IMPO timed to perfection.

Still very scary, and at the end of the day, thats what i expect from these films. They are never going to win an oscar, and lets face it, as "A film", they are totally shite. But as a scary film that you'd watch down the cinema, for me, its top notch and the best in its field at the moment,

  8. Paranormal Activity 2

Just got back from watching this, and now i need to find a clean pair of pants!

I cant really say to much as it may spoil the film, Totally worth a watch if you liked the fisrt one though. The only down side to both of these films is that id imagine you cant ever watch them again, and /or on a smaller screen. But then again thats just me!

Either way, i was shaking when i went for the obligatory "After-the-film-wee", and i love these films as a scary film........as i dotn normally get scared that easily.

Top notch stuff, well worth a watch!

    8/10

    And....

The final of my 3 for

  10. I'd imagin the best bet for life in our solar system (outside of Earth obviously) would be Europa.

While this would be true, isnt the moon europa in a Pre-earth state at the moment? And could you imagine what the aliens from that place would be like? On earth its water that can be a gas/liquid/solid, on europa its methane.

Thay would stink the joint up!

For those who dont know, Europa is a moon off of either saturn/jupiter that has lakes of methane on it. Its still stupidly cold up there, but if the right temp for methane to be a liquid as well as a gas. It also rains on Europa, although aparently the rain drops are huge, but because of the atmosphere, they float down insted of falling, much like our own rain.

I think you're mixing it up with another moon.

Europa is a frozen moon of Jupiter that is believed to have a 60 mile deep ocean under a layer of ice.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europa_(moon)

I sure am! Its either TItan (which is saturns moon) or another of the many moons, although i did get this from "wonders of the solar system" and was truely blown away.

Aparently that new planet that is 20 light years away was said to "100% have some form of life on it", according to some scientist. Aparently this is the first time anybody has ever said this about a planet before.
