  1. JOHN CENA as Champion - I know it has been mentioned before but he IS the guy that has turned me off WWE at least. I have not watched almost any WWE since Cena was a full time main eventer and the stuff I do have (DVDs) I tend to skip his matches half way through. The stuff with Michaels - fine I can live with that. Umaga - decent matches. He has had some decent/good matches however there is far too much immature bullshit for my tastes and as a result I never watch anything with Cena in it. As someone said before, Cena's inability or unwillingness to actually use psychology effectively makes it SO hard to suspend disbelief and has me practically SCREAMING at the tv when he does his Cena Superman recovery for the pin. Not only that his whole persona is SO fake. I mean the whole smiling "hey kids" thing is just SO old and is blatently forced. If they guy weren't so blatently hamming it up all the time I might be able to tolerate him. I would DIE for him to turn heel. We wouldnt have to tolerate the no selling either because that's very much a "face comeback" that he does so poorly. I would love him to do a Hogan and turn on the kids. It would make me watch just to see how it went. But they won't because it's people like me who they don't care about. It's not about being "cool" to hate Cena. I hate him because he is shit. Nothing redeeming in any way (in my OPINION). The only matches I have enjoyed are with people who are better than him and one with Batista.

  2.

    Lesnar destroying Funaki.

That actually looks dangerous. One of the first times he scoops him up he just kind of lets him drop, then rams him into the turnbuckle and the back of his fucking head hits the pad at full force. Mental.

For all of Lesnars greatness (I loved his whole reign) he was particularly unsafe in this encounter IMO. THere was very little "protecting" of his opponent at all and it was all on his opponent to make sure he wasnt gonna get murdered.

  3. I don't really watch ROH at all cept the odd DVD that I pick up but I tuned into HDNETs 12/07/2009 ROH taping when Jim Cornette was picking the 6 matches for the title shot and when Aries came to the ring one thing that went through my mind was

Austin Aries is SMALLER than Jim Cornette! I didn't notice he was particularly small guy but during that segment I noticed just how small the guy appears.

    Did anyone else notice this?

  4. I voted for Shawn Michaels vs John Cena from the UK Raw. I have to admit I dont think there were any tremendously exciting matches this year really. I DID appreciate the whole Taker vs Batista series and I loved Cena vs Michaels however there wasnt much interest elsewhere. On a general note, I thought that the Burridge vs McGuiness 45 Minute Iron Man Match from 1PW Second Anniversary was top notch. I do feel that they could have gone another 15 minutes easily and not bored me. Saying that my boyfriend loved the match and he really doesnt watch wrestling at all! Mike

  5. I recently saw that 'Flushed Away' and I have to admit that (although not a big fan of pixar type productions) it was a really enjoyable and funny movie. I loved the boat chase scene's as well as the freezing scenes too.I saw 30 days of night the other night, that movie really shit me up! I was a nervous wreck throughout and finally a movie that can actually scare me (all these gore-fests are just a bore now). The actor playing the lead vampire (type) guy was amazing actor and it was all well put together. I do think that the ending was poor but thats cos there wasn't a definitive ending (they just walked away!)Saw 4 , seemed to be a huge rehash of the first two. The twist was good but there was needless blood and guts for the sake of it. I did like how they showed why 'Saw' snapped and started 'testing' people though. There was no real reason to test the star of this one. Just because he wanted to save everyone and cared so much doesnt make him a bad guy. Just seemed like another reason to test someone. Man on the Moon... this has been out for ages but I got around to seeing it again recently. What a great movie! I think Jim Carey was amazing in the film and really put on a great show. Seeing Lawler and JR in it was a blast too. Really really well acted and doesn't get the credit it deserves.

  6. I just want to add one more thing before I stop! I just read about 4 pages back comments such as 'its all harmless fun' and people saying they 'don't see what the fuss is about'. I would like to point out that I was let down by 1PW and offended by Smother's (mainly) due to the fact that it made ME feel uncomfortable. I would like those people that say it was 'harmless fun' to tell me that when they have suffered some form of bullying to such a large degree (that I did), only to go to a show which promotes and condones such actions.

  7. Steve Austin Vs McMahon says hiAndy Kaufman says hiMike Tyson says hiUndertaker says hiGoldust says hiEddie Gilvert USSR flag says hiNation of Domination say hiControversial moments create money, sterotypes included. And throught out wrestling it has been used. I don't condone it, I actually don't like it, but it is used as it works.

One thing... All of these were used in BIG leagues and were done at least semi tastefully (barring a few). Even Goldust wasnt that offensive because it was an insinuation it wasnt flat out calling someone a Faggot or a racial obscenity.Mike
  8. I went to the show and I found the use of the word 'Faggot' as offensive. I am gay and I found that using the word, particularly in close proximity to children, in a way condones the use of such language. This in turn would be taken away and children use the word in a school setting. As a bullying victim ( I aint your queeny gay guy but nonetheless) I feel that putting the message out there that its acceptable to use such language is irresponsible. I personally believe that if it is not acceptable to use 'The N Word' in a social situation then why should it be acceptable to use such a term for homosexuals. I will say that the '1PW conspiracy theory' which someone said (ie: people making excuses to bash 1PW) is a load of shit. 1PW runs the show. Wrestlers know their role and do their job as they are told. For management of 1PW not to give the wrestlers in question a good verbal kickin for using such language shows just how much 1PW condone such behaviour. The idea that to be controversial to be successful is one thing but the Gauntley's are NOT Paul Heyman and 1PW is NOT WWE, WCW or ECW. They are a tiny little indy promotion who rely on families and the like to draw money. So to put something that offensive (as was the C word but to less affect in my mind) that would encourage families to turn away from the product. Why is it acceptable for homophobic language and behaviours be displayed at a wrestling show, yet if their was a racist chant erupting would this be accepted? For the people who live it, it is just as offensive but because you cant see homosexuality (well not as easily) it's deemed ok?

  9. It's confirmed he did it. I feel sick. Honestly sick. Part of me wants to keep coming up with theories as to why he did it. Depression etc. I've had depression and know it can be very very hard, but never would I have considered killing anyone, let alone the ones I love. The ability to do it must've been inside him anyway.I had a lot of respect for the man, but it's slipping away. I'm not the sort to say 'Rot in hell' but I retract my earlier 'Rest in Peace'.Nancy and Daniel, RIP.

Good God you really are a fucktard.Like many illnesses their are different levels of severity. Depression is a mental illness and can drive you to do things that are really not normal for you.And who said he was depressed anyway?
As someone who actually works in acute and secure mental health services I wanna point out I have never ever come across someone who killed due to depression. You say depression can make you do things you wouldnt do usually... to yourself? yes... to others? I have never ever seen it.Mike
  10. What irritates me is how so many people act as though they actually KNEW the guy. I mean people are talking like him dying was the be all and end all and i think its stupid. This is seriously fucked up. To do something like that you have to have some seriously fucked up issues in your head. It wasnt a case of a domestic going wrong, the guy actually had to be a headcase as sad as it is to admit.

  11. Very very sad news. Whenever I go to a show whether it house, raw or smackdown I always say to my friend I always go with that I go with the idea that the match I see might well be the last that person does. If I go to a show I always assume itll be the last time I see Flair, Michaels or Undertaker due to retirement however I would never have thought the last time I saw Benoit wrestling would have been the last time. Just a few things I like to say in reference to Benoit. I enjoyed a number of his matches. His amazing performances with Triple H and Shawn Michaels at WM XX and Backlash that same year, his great match with Regal on the dvd or the series of fantastic matches with Eddie Guerrero. Its such a shame to look back on those matches and remember how great he was at what he did. All I think of is how so many greats have been taken so very young from Owen Hart and Brian Pillman to Eddie Guerrero and now Chris Benoit. Whenever I see a chop or German Suplex, I dont think of Ric Flair or Kenta Kobashi, I think of Chris Benoit.RIP Chris and Family. Your contribution to the wrestling world wil be greatly missed. (Note - I suspect that this had more simple solution, like Carbon Monoxide Poisoning or something. It would be very strange that a whole family to be killed especially the children).

  12. What horrible horrible news. Whenever I think of Awesome I always look back on those amazing matches with Masato Tanaka as so many people have said on here already as well as his matches with Spike Dudley and The Great Muta. Perhaps the most talented big man in the business and a guy who will be sorely missed. Awesome will always stick out in my mind as a guy who would do anything to please the fans and someone who would always put on a decent show.R.I.P Mike... I am saddened that Awesome vs Masato will never happen one more time.Mike

  13. Sorry if this has been asked before but can anyone tell me if TNA Against All Odds will be shown on Bravo 2? If so date and time if possible. I noticed on their site that TNA has some really weird showing times (its not a set time weekly) is this always the case or is the site wrong? (I watched TNA Impact last night, saturday, yet this week its only on wednesday according to their site).MIke

  14. If he wasnt in liquidation and people were screwed out of negotiated payments he must be opening himself to fraud charges of some sort right?

Based on the fact (that I have heard going around) that Muta got a cut on his original fee to work because he had to go to RQW instead, I would NOT want to be Gauntly IF this is true. I could really see Muta taking him to the courts VERY quickly.Mike
  15. Oh man! I just went over to the 1PW forum just for a laugh and GOOD GOD!Theres about 20 threads all with this shit about 'we are the 1PW family'...'1PW wont ever die'...'screw you haters'... and the like. The one thread that made me wanna puke over myself was the 'Tears in Your Eyes' thread where everyone was saying how they were close to or in tears during the 1PW show and how sad it was. *pukes* heheWhat I dont understand is whats the need to go saying 'Thank you Steven' in EVERY SINGLE THREAD! Sure he let me get the chance to meet my idol Bret Hart but I dont feel the need to constantly thank Gauntley for stuff that isnt really that big a deal. You never see on these forums a 'Thank Your Vince McMahon' or a 'Thank You Heyman' thread, why because they are BUISNESSMEN! They were in the buisness to MAKE MONEY! All this 'you are all 1pw family' makes me sick! Sorry ive gone off on a rant now but its pathetic! Did I like the 1PW shows that I attended? HELL YEA! Is it the end of the world cos a wrestling promotion which lasted all of about 14 months went under? HELL NO! Its not the last time you will be able to see Joe, Styles, Daniels, Ulf etc. Get over it!Oh and Steven Gauntley... YOUR NOT PAUL F'N HEYMAN! Dont act like you are! 1 P fuckin Dub! What the hell! We arent American! Dont talk like you are one!Mike

  16. I find it hilarious that Steven Gauntley honestly believes that the 1PW was some franchise of European Wrestling. I also find it hilarious that anyone would actually go to Gauntley in TEARS about the promotion folding. Gauntley (IMO) sounds like a guy who tried and failed miserably to be the UKs Paul Heyman. All this talk sounds like something that would have been said when ECW folded, the only difference was that Heyman deserved credit for his booking skills and making of stars. Where as the only thing 1PW did was hire a bunch of pre-established stars to make it work (which in the end it killed it anyway). The whole '1PW family' thing is bollocks. The fans were never 'family' of the product and Gauntley needs to stop making something out of nothing. Hell I was a huge 1PW fan and went to numerous shows. I think their LIVE shows were great and the matches they put on were often amazing (even though the TV didnt come off well) however I wont sit here and defend that load of bollocks Gauntley just spoutedMike
