  1. I think my issue with Balor is that I dont 'get' this inner demon thing. He doesn't come off as a demon, just some nervous Indy wrestler with body paint. That's not to say he isn't fantastic cos he has talent in spades.

I'd prefer a proper character, something I can relate to. Get rid of the demon and have him as a kickass leather jacket wearing mofo! He could always do a Muta and have an alt gimmick as an aside but it would have to be done right. That way we could continue with the Demon too.

  2. I haven't watched RAW consistently in years. The issues I find are:

    1. Everyone is the same - we don't have characters anymore. Generic promos, generic ring gear with next to no personality. Funk, Flair, Piper, Austin, Rock they were believable because most of the time it was them turned way up. I don't care how good you are if you are playing a role not living it...

    2. Matches are meaningless - there is no consequence to matches. Feuds are no longer 3 months + with a clear reason and build. At least have reasons... Advancing to title matches, rankings etc. 50-50 booking kills my interest.

    3. Psychology - the movez have never been better. But nobody knows how to tell a story anymore. Every move should mean something yet the abundance of finisher kick outs leaves me cold

    4. Heat - I genuinely believe Austin hated McMahon, Savage hated Flair and Piper hated Hogan. Nowadays there is no passion, no hatred... They are mates that pretend to dislike each other...

    5. Unpredictability - there is none.

  3. Mick Foley to be revealed as father of most of the Wyatt Family? Raising them in his secret swamp cabin, never allowing them to shave their scabby beards, and training them to be wrestlers, so that one day they would make it to WWE and finally destroy Undertaker and Kane for all they did to Mick back in the 90s. Foley's own clean shaven period? A ruse, he was a beardy Mick Wyatt all along. Survivor Series' big twist, I'm calling it now.

Foley training guys that put out matches like that vs the Shield, Usos etc? Bit of a stretch!

  4. I am really liking the Breaking Ground episodes. Even though they are a little tough enough there is still enough difference to keep my interest.

Regal getting frustrated was eye opening... though if you are stupid enough not to be able to put your foot forward when asked maybe you need to go back to the drawing board!

  5.

When Austin asked Lesnar why they stunk up MSG with their match at Mania 20 Brock simply said because neither of them wanted to be there. Then Austin comes back with "But it was WrestleMania 20" to which Brock replied "I don't give a shit"  At least he doesn't sugar-coat what he really thinks just because he's currently working for Vince like most others.

That's not a good attitude to have on Brock's behalf. Brock was being paid a lot of money to be there. He obviously had no regard for all the fans who'd paid a lot of money (and travelled a lot of miles) to be there too. Not to mention the fans who'd paid to watch on pay per view. WWE invested a lot of time and money in Lesnar and quite frankly, he threw the opportunity back in their face. You could argue Lesnar is fortunate that Vince allowed him back after the way he behaved (let along give him the money he's on and the limited appearance deal). He comes across as a selfish arsehole at times quite frankly. Don't tell him I said that mind.

I view this in two ways, the fan and as someone who appreciates business mindedness.

As a fan I think he needs to respect the people that went to that show and appreciate that people paid good money to watch the biggest show of the year and hoped to have a reasonable clash between the pair.

However the guy is in it to make money, he sees the business as just that... a BUSINESS. He is there to do a job and make money. There is no sentimentality about it and it is refreshing in a business of people who are 'fans' before businessmen.

It's similar to Jeffrey Deaver (the author) saying he writes to make money, its not some romanticised bullshit 'art'. He writes what sells not to be seen as an artist.

  6. I really found the latest Table For Three irritating at times and didn't get all the way through. The Miz does nothing for me and I found him generally annoying to listen to.

The Austin/Lesnar podcast was okay. If you like listening about hunting, amateur wrestling and MMA it will be for you. He doesn't talk much about matches that made him famous or the backstage politics of the industry. In fact he didn't mention any matches at all, saying that he doesn't remember events or specific matches as the business is about making money.

  7.

Didn't love the aftermath. Too much of Sasha crying heroically made me love her even more. She should have disappeared and left Bayley to take all the glory.

That was my only gripe too, Sasha was super babyface in my eyes at the end of the show when she was breaking down in tears and getting hugs off Trips and co. I thought it was a genuinely touching moment, I couldn't help but feel for her. So all these people going on about what an outstanding heel she was must have stopped watching by then.

I used to think women legitimately couldn't do stuff like this, cos, I dunno, tits or something.

To be honest I find the whole tears and snot thing to be a little much. Just generally if you want to cry all over the place do it in the back but I find Bayley particularly looked bloody miserable from the moment she walked out. I can see they are trying to show how women feel vindicated after years of being relegated to the lower card but similarly to x-factor contestants wheeling out their 'hard life' story this is getting a little tiresome!

Bayley irritates the crap out of me. I don't really know why but I think it's this flakey 'I can do it' thing that just AHHHHH! That said I don't watch NXT weekly so maybe this is character based.

  8. Maybe said before but 'FOR THE WIN' - Fuck off Michael Cole you match spoiling twat!

General stop/start booking especially when they don't seem to have any faith in the guys out there nowadays.

Repetitive 'bland' feuds - Orton vs Sheamus being one of those types of feuds.

Straight forward 'classic' booking - have a reason to fight, fight, have the rematch. Don't have rematch after rematch, over and over again.

Oversaturation in the market is something I hate. I used to wait with baited breath for my friday night fix of WWF RAW. Now there are so many hours to fill that everything becomes meaningless.
