  1.

When Austin asked Lesnar why they stunk up MSG with their match at Mania 20 Brock simply said because neither of them wanted to be there. Then Austin comes back with "But it was WrestleMania 20" to which Brock replied "I don't give a shit"  At least he doesn't sugar-coat what he really thinks just because he's currently working for Vince like most others.

That's not a good attitude to have on Brock's behalf. Brock was being paid a lot of money to be there. He obviously had no regard for all the fans who'd paid a lot of money (and travelled a lot of miles) to be there too. Not to mention the fans who'd paid to watch on pay per view. WWE invested a lot of time and money in Lesnar and quite frankly, he threw the opportunity back in their face. You could argue Lesnar is fortunate that Vince allowed him back after the way he behaved (let along give him the money he's on and the limited appearance deal). He comes across as a selfish arsehole at times quite frankly. Don't tell him I said that mind.

I view this in two ways, the fan and as someone who appreciates business mindedness.

As a fan I think he needs to respect the people that went to that show and appreciate that people paid good money to watch the biggest show of the year and hoped to have a reasonable clash between the pair.

However the guy is in it to make money, he sees the business as just that... a BUSINESS. He is there to do a job and make money. There is no sentimentality about it and it is refreshing in a business of people who are 'fans' before businessmen.

It's similar to Jeffrey Deaver (the author) saying he writes to make money, its not some romanticised bullshit 'art'. He writes what sells not to be seen as an artist.

  2. I really found the latest Table For Three irritating at times and didn't get all the way through. The Miz does nothing for me and I found him generally annoying to listen to.

The Austin/Lesnar podcast was okay. If you like listening about hunting, amateur wrestling and MMA it will be for you. He doesn't talk much about matches that made him famous or the backstage politics of the industry. In fact he didn't mention any matches at all, saying that he doesn't remember events or specific matches as the business is about making money.

Didn't love the aftermath. Too much of Sasha crying heroically made me love her even more. She should have disappeared and left Bayley to take all the glory.

That was my only gripe too, Sasha was super babyface in my eyes at the end of the show when she was breaking down in tears and getting hugs off Trips and co. I thought it was a genuinely touching moment, I couldn't help but feel for her. So all these people going on about what an outstanding heel she was must have stopped watching by then.

I used to think women legitimately couldn't do stuff like this, cos, I dunno, tits or something.

To be honest I find the whole tears and snot thing to be a little much. Just generally if you want to cry all over the place do it in the back but I find Bayley particularly looked bloody miserable from the moment she walked out. I can see they are trying to show how women feel vindicated after years of being relegated to the lower card but similarly to x-factor contestants wheeling out their 'hard life' story this is getting a little tiresome!

Bayley irritates the crap out of me. I don't really know why but I think it's this flakey 'I can do it' thing that just AHHHHH! That said I don't watch NXT weekly so maybe this is character based.

  4. Maybe said before but 'FOR THE WIN' - Fuck off Michael Cole you match spoiling twat!

General stop/start booking especially when they don't seem to have any faith in the guys out there nowadays.

Repetitive 'bland' feuds - Orton vs Sheamus being one of those types of feuds.

Straight forward 'classic' booking - have a reason to fight, fight, have the rematch. Don't have rematch after rematch, over and over again.

Oversaturation in the market is something I hate. I used to wait with baited breath for my friday night fix of WWF RAW. Now there are so many hours to fill that everything becomes meaningless.

  5. The thing with Jericho is that he hasn't got the ability to listen to anyone else's voice except his own. If I listen to his podcasts I want to scream because if he could reign in his mouth he could be a really good interviewer. His self belief and belief in Fozzy can be sickening at times but in fairness to Jericho what wrestler doesn't have an ego?

Jericho is and will always be a good hand in the ring. Whether it's classics with Shawn Michaels or short returns to feud with the likes of Punk or Mysterio he has put on great performances since 2008 during his short comebacks. I always thought he was a tad overrated but in recent years I've come to appreciate the amount of work it took to get to where he is. That said, he will never be the mega star he thinks he is (I think he believes he is the best ever).

  6. I didn't say he didn't deserve it or that he didn't have a great character n promo work. But if you go out there and intentionally injure yourself which he knew he would w those bumps then you can't call him a great worker by any stretch.

  7. I have recently been looking back at Foley's career and what he has achieved and the one thing that really strikes me is (IMO) how the guy had little talent but was able to become the WWF champion! He was (arguably) a glorified stuntman who was good on promos and 'character'. It is only now that we see how his limitations have impacted his quality of life. Nowadays he would be seen as an idiot who injures himself intentionally, look at the likes of Nigel McGuiness who would hit people genuinely and injure himself for the 'business'.

  8. I loved the Undertaker/Lesnar pull apart on RAW. In fact it was one of the better pieces of work they have done in a long time and for the first time in years the Undertaker looks like a bad man - if not a little bit off his rocker. They had to have half the roster doing the pull apart. When Lesnar and Taker are involved they are such mega stars - especially with Lesnar's physical dominance - that security pulling them apart wouldn't have been enough IMO.

That said Taker does look like the shits which is sad for me to say as I was once his biggest fan. Bodily he looks as good as he has in a long time, clearly having worked out and has put on a little weight which is no bad thing. But as someone said his skin looks like it is stitched onto a skeleton from the neck up and he looks like he has walked out of an old folks home and is confused as to where he is.

I don't know what is worse a haggard, S&M goth with a receding hairline or just letting him grown it out grey and turn him into the original dead man for one last run with long (albeit balding) hair and the old school look.

  9. What the hell are WWE doing at Battleground having Brock return against Rollins!?

This should be a mega match - either at SummerSlam or next years WrestleMania. To give it away at a 'B' show doesn't do the match justice. I am sure the match will be decent but build to it properly for god sake!

I still think they should have had Reigns win MITB then roll into WrestleMania XXXII with Rollins vs Lesnar and Reigns sprinting down mid match, covering Rollins for Lesnar's title. This would be a huge screw you to Rollins though I know people didn't like the idea it would be the greatest revenge for Reigns a year after he was screwed out of the title.

  10. With all the merchandise sales (DVD/Blu-Ray, figures etc) I really can't imagine that Foley is THAT hard up that he has to go out and do all of this shit that he does week in and out. I genuinely believe that he craves attention and wants to be one of the 'legend' guys but is mainly known for doing stupid stunts that required little actual talent or being the guy that introduced a sock puppet.

Don't get me wrong I think Foley did incredibly well and sacrificed a lot for the business (his body is screwed) but he needs to know when enough is enough.  I don't know how mentally well he is (the video about 'fanny pack' months back was a little odd) but physically he really needs to work on his weight or he will be dead before he is 55.

It's got to a point that he is no longer seen as anything other than a joke. Combine this with the fact that he often comes off as rude and money grabbing during signings/appearances doesn't help his legacy.

  11. I detest the classic 'hey kids clap me' claps that a lot of the British lads do. It screams Butlins and not in a good way. I have a tendency to feel that a good face shouldn't need to start their own crowd reaction though I might be short changing people when I say that.

People moving to get in position to catch the guy throwing an aerial move. If you can't do it convincingly don't do it at all. They turn around, stand there waiting for the guy to hit the move, catching them. At least make it so that it looks like you turn right into the move.

The ladder match idea of the person above me is completely true. The time delay on the climb is horrible to watch.

There is a small proportion of wrestlers in the UK (and other countries in fairness) who think they are a name because they worked for the FWA, IPW, 1PW, LDN etc. That's not to say that those guys aren't talented but come on... you work in sales 9-5! On the topic of indi-riffic lads I find throwing yourself around like a crazy person for 50 people in a school hall a little ridiculous.

My top most anger inducing wrestling issue is the overuse of 'finishers' that are kicked out of. I remember back in the day when a finisher was a FINISHER and you knew it was over. Nowadays everyone kicks out of every finisher... they mean nothing. Case in point is the Lesnar vs Reigns main event at WrestleMania 31... nothing is important anymore. This trend has increased hugely since the epic Taker vs Michaels match of WrestleMania 25 (where the false finishes were one perfectly).
