    Any chippy that serves kebabs, is not a chippy.

    Not the first time I've been on Just Eat looking at the chippies and the chip shop stuff has been half way down the page behind the kebabs and pizzas.

    Dammit, you've got Chippy in your name, where's the chips!

    IMDB sheds some light on this;

    "In the original promotional campaign for this film's cinema release, Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson explicitly stated that it was "not Bottom" (hence the name differences, and other inconsistencies with the series in the movie) but they also said that they have pretty much always played the same characters for years (The Young Ones (1982), Filthy Rich & Catflap (1987), and Bottom (1991)) and this was just a new set. Perhaps the films not-so-stratospheric box-office success caused the studio to add "The Bottom Movie" on its video release."

    Also, I've also wanted to sign off a letter or email with 'OXFORD UNITED'.

    Few seasons ago when we drew Oxford United in the cup, I was telling everyone "we were away to the Xylophone Fanciers", to mostly confused faces.

  3. I just presumed, (so no evidence, just my thoughts), that Eddie was called Ngumbaba as you really couldn't  have an internationally released film with a character called Hitler.

    They weren't the same characters as in Bottom were they? I know they act just like them but it's more of an unoffcial Bottom movie, maybe.

    They were still Richie and Eddie, but with different surnames.

    Richard Twat (pronounced Thwaite) and Edward Elizabeth Ngumbaba.

  5. Its not actually the bench from the opening credits, but one that was placed there shortly after his death. I actually went down there a few nights ago, go every year, there's a Rik Mayall fan group on Facebook called The Rejects that have regular meetings. Usually at the bench first and then off to the nearby Wetherspoons.

    I'm not actually sure what happened to the original bench or even it's precise location, but that bench was unveiled in 2014, pretty much for the reason as to how iconic the bench in the opening credits was. (The building site they were on during the credit sequence is now that shopping centre over the road).

    There are no tributes there now other than the plaque on the back of the bench, mostly due to wear and tear and also because some bastards kept nicking them.

  6. It's a well known story that Vince put on the first Survivor Series in order to run it against Starrcade 87 and threatened PPV companies that if they chose Starrcade they wouldn't get Mania IV.

    My question is, did many companies say "screw you Vince" and run Starrcade? If so, did Vince stay true to his promise and block them from getting Mania?
