  1. I get mildly annoyed when a YouTube video is preceded by an advert. I become fucking livid when it's that Jacamo one. I'm >this< close to ordering some of their shit clothes and returning them in a box filled with wasps.

  2. Sweet Jesus. Of course it's not a rarity anymore for kayfabe to be broken, I was just bemused as to the over-exaggeration of the reply to my original post.

    Should have known better... thicky.

Thank you, Thicky Holden. "Hello, Thicky. How's your acne, Thicky?". Rimmer quotes will be stuck in my head all day now.

  3. Ascension promo - This was a bit different and I loved the aspect above the city. Well shot, content a bit naff. Who's the English guy? Entrance was novel too.

The English guy is Kenneth Cameron. The city shot was nice and different, it reminds me of an old console game, damned if I can remember which one.

I've now found myself looking forward to NXT for the first time in ages.

  4. Laurinaitis is consoled after No Way Out.

Featuring two stars who seemingly forget they're enemies. Just weird.

It's not 1979 any more. I'm not saying its smart to do this sort of thing, but I think the only people who would be shocked by this are children. And I doubt this throw away internet segment will keep them up at night...

    You lost me at 1979.

    Then you're thick.

Explain how 1979 bears any significance then. Saying, that, how the hell did you get all the waffle about the segment being "shocking" from me merely saying it was weird?

    Think, thicko, think.

  5. I'm hearing good things about Iron Sky. Here's the synopsis.

The Nazis set up a secret base on the moon in 1945 where they hide out and plan to return to power in 2018.

It sounds like it should be awful. Anyone watched this?

It's definitely worth a watch. I didn't think it was as amazing or funny as some people have made it out to be, but it was good enough. One thing that I really didn't like about it:

SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

For a film about a goofy premise like space nazis, I really wasn't expecting the tone-switching "affects of war" moments in the last 20 minutes or so. I'm all for films with a message, but I felt the bombing of the base filled with families and ending the film with missiles being launched between countries was a bit much for a film calling itself a comedy.

  6. If Extreme rules only did 251,000 buys, and UFC 143 did 400,000, that's undisputable proof that Nick Diaz is a bigger draw in MMA than Brock Lesnar, right?

Some people in this thread are going to be pretty upset. To go from being the biggest draw in both wrestling AND MMA, to not being a draw in either in such a short time is shocking.

He'll be in panto by the end of the year. I'd pay good money to see Brock & The Beanstalk.

  7. I've been using Reaper which isn't bad at all for a free* piece of software. Just finished a piano piece which took some doing as I'm an utter novice:

    My Soundcloud page.

There's an old one on there too if you fancy critiquing. No singing on either track because, quite simply, I can't.

*The trial ended but it still works. :/

  8. And yeah, the book is fantastic. I've read it about eight times. JJ's in there, as well as the Are You Being Served-loving Nazi, the Nazi twin kids, Mello T the rapper, Mike the survivalist and some others. There's also a chapter following up on someone who never made it to TV on the UFO episode, which I'll put in a spoiler, because there's a pretty amazing revelation in there

When they'd just started out on Weird Weekends, and were looking for interview subjects, they contacted the Heaven's Gate cult, but they declined saying they had more important commitments - which turned out to be their mass suicide, so their spirits could join the spaceship hiding behind the Hale Bopp comet. When that hit the news, one of the production team remembered an envelope from them, with a video and a bunch of documents inviting Louis down to where they were staying at a certain date, and they realised that Heaven's Gate had planned for Louis to turn up to their encampment with his cameras and be the one who discovered all the bodies and broke the story to the world. Had that envelope been opened, Weird Weekends, and Louis himself, would have occupied a very different place in history
