  1. Just watched the mid-season finale of Breaking Bad:

What an episode. I didn't think anything would top the scene with Mike's imprisoned guys being killed off, but that ending - Holy shit. I thought it was a tad daft that Walt would leave evidence like that about, and it could be argued that a scrawl at the front of a book is easily forgettable, but it didn't make the ending any less awesome. I can't bloody wait for next year.

SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

The prison scene was absolutely brutal, particularly the full-nelson stabbing of the lawyer. That ending though was immense, and I really can't wait to see where they go with it. How will Hank manage to pin this on Walter now that Walter is "out" and pretty much everyone involved is dead. I think the finale will end with either Walt, Hank or both dying.

I found the whole prison scene unintentionally hilarious. The "just to make sure" nature of the guy being stabbed in the chest and then the neck, followed by being thrown over a safety railing was brilliant.

I've tried to tell myself that they wouldn't kill off Hank, what with him mainly being the all smiling, happy-go-lucky good guy. Then I remember what show I'm watching.

  3. I love Little Nicky, so was a tad shocked when I found out how much it was panned. Going Overboard, however, is utter bum and deserves every bad review going.

I can't stand most of Adam Sandler's comedies (Happy Gilmore being an exception) but I can't knock him simply because Punch Drunk Love is superb and he's the main reason for that.

Superb, indeed. Reign Over Me is also a corker.

  4. I watched Grown Ups at the weekend. How is it possible to have a cast full of funny people and fail to make one decent joke?! The only thing that kept me going was the oncoming Norm Macdonald appearances, and even they were shit.

Chris Rock is a terrible actor too.

I've got nearly all of Adam Sandler's films, Grown Ups will never be one of them. Apparently they're doing a sequel. :/

  5. The WWE's use of Page on his arrival still pisses me off. He was one of the few big stars who took the buyout and was willing to come in and be part of the team, and they totally fucked him.

That pop when he revealed himself was phenomenal. How could they screw that up?

Totally agree. I've found myself re-watching his unveiling a few times in the past month or so. Everything about it was just brilliant. As good as his spell with/against Christian was, they could've done so much more with him.

  6. Once Were Warriors is indeed ace. As for What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted...

It's not too bad, but like most sequels it suffers from following a superior film. If I remember right, with the exception of Jake and Sonny, the family members are almost reduced to bit-parts. It also ends rather suddenly.

  7. I stumbled upon Bigger, Stronger, Faster on YouTube earlier, which focuses on the use of performance-enhancing drugs in the US. It also takes a look at the family of the documenter Chris Bell, the middle child of three brothers who had all used steroids; the oldest brother being ex-WWE jobber Mike Bell. Definitely worth a watch if you've got some time spare.

  8. It looks like something you'd see on Conan The Barbarian.

The third title was in the possession of Rhino but was later stolen from his bag at an event.

I've always thought that Rhino's story of not appearing on the last ECW show because he "didn't want to believe it was over" was an excuse not to drop any titles, although I'm sure someone on here said the idea was to have him retain. Either way, the above is a bit funny.

What an ending indeed. I'm not sure how I feel about this season yet, though. On the one hand, its been fast moving and dramatic, astonishingly good television. On the other hand, some elements felt forced, like the murder of a child two seasons after Jesse and Walt had found the same act from Gus unspeakably evil. Just another facet in the moral descent of Walter. but maybe a little OTT.

To be fair to Walt and Jesse, they had no idea Todd was going to shoot the kid.

Cracking episode, a definite improvement on last week.

  10. There hasn't been a photoshop topic in a while, so I thought I'd start one.

As the title says, it's about putting wrestlers in films and TV shows. I've gone for a piss-easy example to start things off, but by all means, be more creative than me and pick something without a wrestler's name already in the title. :/
