  1. Nice:

    Glassjaw

Met them at a signing for their first album. Two of them were really nice and suggested I sneak in to their sold-out gig that night (supporting Soulfly), but Daryl Palumbo was pre-occupied with chatting to one of his bandmates. Didn't say anything to me or even make eye contact. "Meet and greet" my arse.

  2. I've met:

    Trevor McDonald

    Mark Austin

A whole bunch of ITV News newsreading women whose name's escape me right now.

    Ben Scotchbrook

Alistar Stewart (the drunk that he is)

    Felicity Barr

    David Frost

    Rageh Omah

Richard Gizbert (former ABC guy, now does The Listening Post for al-Jazeera and is a huge Spurs fan).

    Jesse Jackson

There's loads "news people" I've met. Haven't listed them all. The only one who was an arsehole was Mark Austin who seems to think he's Jesus Christ or something.

Apart from that, I've obviously met a bunch of British wrestlers, but the only ones really worth mentioning as good people were Johnny Kidd, Anton Green (both seriously top, top guys), Jorge Castano, Rich n Famous (does he still wrestle? that guy was funny.)

Met Bradshaw and some Diva years ago at Hamleys when Kid Ka$h handed him the "Bradshaw + Brian Christopher + shower = whats the worst that could happen?" thing to be autographed...

What were you doing to meet all those reporter types? And how did the Kid Ka$h story end?

  3. I bumped into Pat Wilson from Weezer at Reading 2002. At the time they were my favourite band, and I'd been a tad skeptical about meeting anyone from any favourite bands after Robb Flynn from Machine Head blanked me a few years before, although he was rather drunk. However, Pat turned out to be nice as pie, stopping for a few minutes and asking me about the festival and what not. Sadly, as I was making my way back to the tent, I noticed my hand was filthy from the crate of Carling I'd been carrying, and had an inkling I'd made Pat's hand dirty. Not that he's even reading but, sorry Pat. :(

  4. Here's mine:

    Friday the 13th: 7, 4 (Crispin Glover dancing ftw!), 2, 1, 8, 3, 6. 5, 9 and 10 are equally bad, still not seen the remake.

Halloween: 1, 2, 4, 3 (criminally underrated), 6, 7, 5, 8. I actually enjoy watching all those though, even Resurrection has it's moments. The Rob Zombie remake is the worst of the bunch and also one of the worst films in recent memory.

    Hellraiser: 1, 3, 2, 4 (Not seen the others)

    Child's Play: 2, 1, 3, 4, 5.

Puppet Master: 1, 2... not seen the others

Leprechaun: Only seen the original, the 'Hood' one and the 'Space' one. And all three were terrible, although they were hilarious in parts.

    A few others:

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: 2, 1, The Beginning, Remake, 3, 4. Man, 4 was bad.

... Of The Dead: Dawn, Dawn remake, Night, Day, Land. Not seen Diary. Night of the Living Dead and Day of the Dead are interchangeable.

    Poltergeist: 1, 2, 3.

    Phantasm: 1, 3, 2, 4... not seen 5.

Sleepaway Camp: 1, 2, 3. Still waiting for Return To Sleepaway Camp

    Anyway, I'll stop now.

I re-enacted the Crispin Glover dance at the request of my girlfriend and didn't get dumped. She either really liked it or she's scared to leave me incase I claw her face off with my Glover-style reflexes.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: 1, 2, The Beginning tied with the re-make, 3, 4.

    Phantasm: 1, 4, 3, 2. 5 isn't happening by the looks of it. :/

Sleepaway Camp: 1, 2, 3. Part two should win some kind of award for the fire scene. Messed up.

Wishmaster: 1, 2, 4, 3. The last two definitely suffered without the original actor.

The Rock's film "The Game Plan" premieres tonight on Sky Movies Premiere at 6pm.

Other films on tonight are "Leatherheads" and "In Bruges".

Any thoughts on those movies? Thanka you.

I think In Bruges is brilliant. I went in the cinema expecting something totally different from it, due to the adverts leaving out the actual storyline. Glad they did.

  5. While we're on listing horror sequels in order of preference (entering geek mode):

    A Nightmare On Elm Street: 3, 1, 7, 2, 4, 5, 6.

    Friday The 13th: 6, 4, 7, 2, 3, 1, 9, 10, 8, 5.

    Halloween: 1, 2, 7, 4, 3, 5, 6, 8.

    Hellraiser: 1, 2, 3, 5, 4 (not seen 6-8).

    Child's Play: 1, 2, 4, 3, 5.

    Puppet Master: 3, 1, 2, 6, 4, 5, 7, 8.

    Leprechaun: 1, 2, 3, 6, 5, 4.

  6. Heavenly Creatures is the correct title.

Fun fact: Melanie Lynskey (the girl who isn't Kate Winslet) plays Rose in Two & A Half Men.

Watched The Happiness Of The Katakuris for the second time in about 3 years, not as great as I remember but still good. It's like a Japanese version of The Sound Of Music. With death.

  7. Anyone seen JCVD yet?

I honestly believe it to be one of Van Dammes best films in which he displays genuine acting talent.

I'd have thought that you guys would be talking a lot about this. Anybody have a butchers at it?

Easily the best part of the entire film is the monologue.

Watched it earlier today and thought it was superb.

After seeing the adverts for it and knowing what to expect from a Van Damme film, I went into it anticipating quite a lot of action. Surprisingly (and refreshingly) there wasn't, although that's not to say it wasn't eventful. The story is decent, some of the lines are brilliant and Van Damme is just stellar, especially with the monologue.

JCVD along with In Bruges makes me wish more films were shot in Belgium.

    Killer Klowns From Outer Space....

Fuck knows why i thought this would be good..... It cost 2 million to make... Fuck knows where the money went!

Jesus i really feel like burning the DVD so other people wont have to watch this crap...

The Front Cover of it made it look really good... Fucknuts!

I can see why some people don't like it but I love it, although some of the acting is a tad pish, even by B-movie horror standards.

  8. For any Kevin Smith fans, you really need to catch Vulgar, its the story of the clown in the Viewaskew logo.

Oddly enough, I watched it for the first time in about 3 years on Monday. My girlfriend popped it on and ten minutes into it asked what it was about.

Not telling her and watching her reaction to that scene was a great thing.

  9. Last week I finally watched Once Were Warriors after borrowing it from a mate. Stolen from IMDB.com:

"Set in urban Auckland (New Zealand) this movie tells the story of the Heke family. Jake Heke is a violent man who beats his wife frequently when drunk, and yet obviously loves both her and his family. The movie follows a period of several weeks in the family's life showing Jake's frequent outburst of violence and the effect that this has on his family. The youngest son is in trouble with the police and may be put into a foster home while the elder son is about to join a street gang. Jake's daughter has her own serious problems which are a key element in the plot."

The film is as dramatic and emotional as it is physical and shocking. There are a few moments where it feels like a domestic musical, what with some spontaneous guitar-fuelled sing-alongs. For a bunch of unknowns, the acting is pretty good, and Temuera Morrison is a thoroughly convincing nut-job as Jake.

I was also lent the sequel What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted, which I didn't know existed. I can't say much on it as I'd risk spoiling the first film. I definitely didn't think it was as good, but it was watchable, despite the "Is that it?" feeling at the end. Another thing that bugged me was that the film featured another son, who never had so much as a mention in the first film. After doing some Wiki searching, I found that the reason behind this was that the films were based on a series of books, and the second book came out after the first was made into a film. Still, a tad annoying.

  10. I watched Harsh Times last night, pretty bloody good. Christian Bale and Freddy Rodriguez worked really well together, and I realised how much more I prefer Bale when he's playing a nutbar, particularly liked the scenes where he's taking tests for Homeland Security. I also liked the feel it gave of being a road-trip in a tiny town. Definitely worth checking out.

  11. Thought I'd enjoy Tropic Thunder and be disappointed in Step Brothers, however the opposite happened. For me, Tropic Thunder suffered due having the funniest parts in the trailer, in addition to an effortless ending. As mindless as Step Brothers was, I loved it. Sure, the story is as far-fetched as it gets, but it made me laugh a number of times and the fight scene was juvenile brilliance.

  12. Think I've posted this before, but that would've been ages ago. This appeared in Hostel, in the scene where Paxton passes out at the club:

Love the end to this song. They're like a Slovak Pugwall, but good.

Edit: Today is bad for spelling.
