  1. Iā€™m going to go to a world buffet tomorrowĀ because of this thread. Iā€™ll get an item from each country and pour gravy over the lot. Yes, there will be photos.

  2. Iā€™ve been to Glastonbury 4 times since early 00ā€™s, last one in 2016, no bother whatsoever. Leeds 3 times in the same time frame, and always bother.Ā

My observations are that Leeds had moreĀ ā€˜lads on the pissā€™ and boozeĀ justĀ brings out the bellendĀ in bellends. More people getting fucked on crates of Fosters and lines of coke, whereĀ as glasto was more people smoking joints or tripping. Not everyone obviously, but itā€™s a noticeable difference inĀ tone and atmosphere. Definitely far more pleasant and enjoyable in my opinion.

    @Kaz Hayashi -Ā  That's awesome!

Cheers fella. Nice to get back in to recording again. Once I play and record everything, itā€™s just a case of finding time to record my mate who drums. Finding time is much trickier these days.

I remember being at Leeds the year the toilets were set on fire and the company were barred from using that site again (2004?).Ā

It got pretty scary at on the last night.Ā Ice cream vans on their roof, I saw a bunch of lads somehow managed to snap one of those telegraph poles, a bonfire of tents at least 8 meter wide, a lad walking past use with 6 camp stove gas canisters duct tapped together. It was like Platoonā€¦probably.Ā Ā

I think all of that bull shit started at 2000. There was a fucking huge gathering of people around the fireĀ bogs, with 1 security guard looking absolutely bewildered, who then decided the best course of action was to rugby tackle a young lass.

    That went down well.

  5. Just to clear up my point when I said the event looks shit, itā€™s purely down to the fact that on paper, to me,Ā it looks utterly shit. There were numerousĀ utterly shit years/line ups when I was still young, so my point isnā€™tĀ about now vs then, or age, itā€™s about my taste.Ā

  6. Jesus, it looks like a terrible event. I was lucky enough to see Rage at Leeds 2000, which also included Deftones, Foos, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, early Muse, BeckĀ andĀ early Queens of the Stone Age amongst others. Oasis also headlined, so maybe Zack and Liam are bezzies.
We were properly spoiled back then though, what a line up.

and... Daphne & Celeste. Poor lasses lasted a song and half before security had to safely escort them to the back.

I really likedĀ Owen and Yoko. A visual orgasmĀ and they just generally remind me of a time when WWF was fucking class.Ā

and some other text, words etc.

Youā€™re lovely and youā€™re wasted in Off Topic.

    Headshrinkers. End of own thread.

Seriously. They were bloody brilliant. That match with the Steiners at WM9 is one of the more forgotten gems in Mania history. Fuck knows why they were always fannying about with low card shit. Them and the Steiners should have just ripped it up in 1993 and early 1994, swapping the titles in ever-increasing red hot matches. They had ample amounts of shitarse teams to feed to them too.

Two big hosses who looked great, worked better, had a bit of wow factor and a decent manager. Criminally under valued by the company first and foremost and not given enough love.

Now, let's have your incorrect suggestions.

Yes, you have indeed won. Itā€™s the first team I thought of when I read the title/before I opened the thread. Absolutely brilliant team, athletic, massive, great gimmick & look. Also very believable. In a world full of racist/cartoon gimmicks with people that looked like parodies, these,Ā inc AFA,Ā looked mint and legit (for wrestling). Iā€™m still gutted that we didnā€™t get to see Yoko join them as Kokina as planned. Saying that, it leads me on to arguably my favourite team of all time...

    Owen & Yoko

Now whilst they had the titles and people have fond memories, I still think they were underrated, and thatā€™s likely because Yoko was near his tipping point and Owens team with Bulldog was class. Whilst Iā€™m really fond of Owen & Bulldog,Ā I have a massive soft spot for Owen & Yoko.Ā
The idea that the companies two biggest ribbers (Owen & Fuji) beingĀ in a team is mint enough, but when you add that to Owens cheeky charisma and in ring ability, with the sheer mass and power of Yokozuna, who had feuded with Owens brother/nemesis, Bret. Then throwĀ Cornetteā€™s twatty, shouty, annoying face in to the mix.

What a team it really was. I think itā€™s possibly one of the best of the 90ā€™s, but never really gets added to that discussion, so thatā€™s why I think they were underrated. Not unnoticed, but defo underrated. Under appreciated is probably the best phrase to use.

However, these fill in a lot of blanks and reveal a ton of smaller angles that I'd never seen. I'm currently about to finish 1992, a year in which I'd not seen a lot of weekly TV prior to this and it's been great for revealing a lot of the filler in feuds. Highly recommended while they exist on YouTube.

Iā€™ve been subscribed toĀ him for a few months now, truly great channel and as you say, I also advise watching whatā€™s there before it gets pulled. I credit this channel with being one of the main reasons Iā€™ve still got an interest in wrestling if Iā€™m honest.Ā

Robert Fuller did a fantastic interview with Hannibal TV fairly recently. And his telling of the Nasty Boys vs Ken Shamrock fight story is the best version Iā€™veĀ heard by far.

Whether heā€™s embellished it or not I donā€™t know. OrĀ care. Heā€™s such a great storyteller. And I love that heā€™s got a big, massive...bottle of Crown Royal behindĀ him!Ā

Yeah heā€™s great at storytelling. Iā€™m surprised he hasnā€™t been more involved as a full time manager over recent years. Heā€™d work a treat in NWA.

Also, Shamrock was booked at For The Love Of Wrestling this April, but he cancelled last week. The Nasty Boys have also just been announced. Hmmm.

  11. I met DennisĀ FistĀ today.
He claims he was a dentist who apparently lost it all by investing his savings in a start up tooth paste company, but one of the owners was sent down after a massiveĀ drugs bust.
Heā€™s planning to bounce back by opening up a library on wheels, ā€œbut only go around the Posh streetsā€.

I really hope I see him again tomorrow.Ā
    Ā

Edit - Just found out itā€™s actually Dennis Pfist, and that whilst the shady investment was true, the library thing is just him talking bollocks. Iā€™m hugely disappointed.

  12. I remember seeing this for the first time in 2017. The link I had to the doc on YouTube was deleted so cheers for posting this. My favourite line is this absolute beauty when heā€™s travelling home in the car.

"RememberĀ what the conservative party announced?Ā spending 216 billion pounds on widening the motorways,Ā to deal with the increase in traffic in the year 2025,Ā petrol runs out in 2019, who they kidding?Ā they're building them for skateboards".

What grinds my gears is companies reducing their range of multipacks to a single, mixed flavour assortment.

Stick your variety up your arse. Give me what I want, lots of it, and nothing else.

I was in Morrisonā€™s today and fancied a bag of crisps to go with my sandwich.Ā I didnā€™t want an average packetĀ ofĀ walkers, but fuck me, the options for normal size, single bags of crisps are limited in there.
Itā€™s either a really small, crap selection as part of the meal deal range, big massive multi packs, orĀ bigĀ family packs of Doritos etc. Considering the crisp aisle is a long double aisle, why such a terrible range of single bags?
Iā€™ll happily smash a 150g pack of crisps onĀ an evening no bother, but not on my work lunch break in front of Debbie and svelteĀ Steve from accounting. Iā€™ve just started my job for Christ sake. Iā€™m not a greedy bastard Steve, Iā€™m not.

  14. My wife is 1/2 way through the application process to receive an Irish passport. Her and her siblings all jumped at the chance when the opportunity arose. Itā€™s a long process but I couldnā€™t be happier for her. It gives her and my daughter the option ā€˜to beā€™ Irish and stay part of the EU.

If Scotland ever gain independence, Iā€™ll be doing exactly the same.

Weā€™ll all set up a camp in EuropeĀ and then come back as ex-pats to useĀ the NHS if itā€™s still about.

  15. In regards to Tekken, Tekken 2 was the best wasnā€™t it? I really canā€™t see past it, especially once all characters were unlocked and you could destroy everyone with a Baek combo.

Cheers for that. Shame we'll have to keep it as a lawn. We really wanted to do away with it. I hate mowing, and my wife is unable to mow.

Thatā€™s ideal. Turn it in to a big grassyĀ eye saw and let them moan about it to the point they advise you to concrete it. Sorted.

Thatā€™s one of the best TILā€™s Iā€™ve ever learned.
