  1. Still a few galoobs that bring a few quid. Big Josh, sting in entrance jacket, Luger in jacket and dustin bring a bit of coin. Quite a few of the UK exclusives.

Josh with his accessory is very rare. Don't tend to find them as a 'set'.

Hated them as a kid, always tended to get one for Christmas and had to put the brave face on, couldn't stand them. Majority are shite for displaying too, due to the rubber, the feet tend to warp and never stay up right.

WCW always knocked out crap lines of figures, the 'OSFTM' were rank. Big daft gangly things that were about an inch taller and wider than hasbros.

Toy biz had some decent figures, but they were very pot luck. The mike awesome, Douglass and Vampiro were the best of the bunch for me, fuck knows what get we're thinking in regards to the 'grip n flip' line.

Edit - just looked back at my last few posts... Bloody hell, I'd struggle during war time or anything of importance.

  2. The mail away figures are another side altogether. I've got the mail away bret and hogan, not the taker though.

My first ring came with a savage (orange trunks) in a plastic bag, but a number of the mail away figures were never recorded as being as such. They bring in a fucking mint.

The only 'official' mail away (plastic bags with PN code text on the front) are hogan in full red gear, bret hart (pink vest/black tights) and undertaker with coat.

There are a lot of other promotional bagged figures but they are tricky to identify as real or fake, insane annount of scammers chucking 2nd hand figures in plastic bags and claiming they 'may' be real.

If anyone is trying to add rares to their collection, stick to the official mails ways, fully sealed in bags with the PN code on it.

    For example:

  3. That makes sense pic, the stars on the tights were again rumoured to be part of a repaint. So yeah.

Looking back, a different dusty fig with a smiling face was due out too at one point, but again was scrapped. There were a lot of rumours such as power & glory. Not much to really back these up though to be fair.

If you see any of the old catalogue prints, especially the rare ones featuring Greg R&B fig, there are lots of general inconsistancies that haven't been explained, regarding attire and reversed limbs.

  4. It's all very true. Whilst for me the best toy line, they lost the plot towards the end. They had ideas to include figures in to lines, but when a gimmick changed or persona left, they basically knocked out an exact sculpt of a previous figure.. Tatanka for example.

On tge flip side, it's rumoured that they sometimes had some privy about possible changes to characters, so if evil doink is a true figure of the line, there could be the chance that he was going to turn.

Evil doink is a loose term too, it could have been just a different paint job without them taking the 'evil' in to consideration. Doink had his own sculpt, no one else would benefit from it, if tgey over ran the heads on on the production line, rather than waste, just repackage, ala Tatanka, yet again.

Nothing is gospel about the supposed lines to come. However, the knock off head sculpt for Diesel is has come from somewhere. Mannix didn't have those capabilities, they also knocked out a cheap Razor, Adam Bomb, Hogan, Lex and what's believed to be a new HBK scan without glasses.

The razor, hulk, lex and bomb are exact sculpts. Bomb was/is very hard to get in normal hasbro figure (green / last / limited card), so we can only guess that they bought the above moulds for a price.

Fuck knows what the exact details are about the 'hbk' and 'diesel' heads. Some believe real moulds that never made the lines, some believe just very good look a like knocks.

    I believe the former.

Strangely, a CEO 'Jerry' from hasbro joined the wfigs boards, he was quickly shot down as a fraud. I'm guessing he didn't have any cutlery.

  5. Diesel, Owen, and I think a Shawn Michaels without sunglasses. The whole thing was only ever a rumour until these photos came out, though.

The 'biggest' rumor for thr orange card was Diesel, evil Doink, JJ, USA Luger and Mable. That was going around for a while and I think a couple of lads on wfigs recon this was most likely.

HBK punch action and a new razor were linked to be a mail away promotion offer.

Stom came on here a while back after someone pretended to be him, that was all a bit mental.

    He didn't stay long

  6. All of his expressions are magical.

You made a mistake using a plural.

    It's a very fair point.

He reminds me of that time when test did the test gimmick. All of his expression were great too, maintained the level throughout every gimmick.

Thing is with Khali, it's the whole not trying to be funny, but in the space of several pictures, manages to surpass any of his 'comedy segments' written for children and middle of the road americans. For my own selfish reasons, i wish the writers would just let the big daft arse be himself, as he's a fucking hoot. I guess it's more of an accidental dead pan sarcy British comedy thing, rather than an American 'laugh at the silly dancing giant' thing.

Fuck the general audience and the children, make me laugh Khali, keep posting selfies of you being dead pan in unusual circumstances.

  7. Fucking hell, never knew that, crackers. So the whole 'ask him ref' or completely knocked out was the only way of acknowledging it then.

CRX - I see what your saying but if a groggy wrestler is sloppily slapping the mat, how would tge ref know if its intentional or not, unless its scripted of course.

Cheers for explaining that shamrock point though.

  8. Brilliant, could be several posters off here.

Anyway, I've never understood a particular ref call, or non ref call for that matter. Just been watching HBK vs bulldog from an old raw episode. HBK had bulldog in a headlock whilst davey was face down on the canvas. Bulldog slapped the floor in frustration.

There's been many a time a wrestler in a similar position and they slap the floor in desperation, to feel the energy of the crowd.

Why do/did refs not class it as a submission?

    Daft question, I know

  9. Zack Ryder made a big private bid for it when it originally popped up. I dont think $55,000 is in his price range, though.

Aye, I think the $15k was over his limit.

$55k though, fuckin hell. It apparently disappeared off ebay before the ending. Either the seller realised he was fucking mental, or another radged cunt made a high offer.

  10. So 'a' prototype Greg Valentine R&B hasbro figure popped up, has been 'legitimised' and officially graded, sold on eBay for over $15k and now the new owner is asking for over $55k.

The original magazine pic that collectors hide inside of copies of Razzle

    hasbro_valentine_proto_pic5.jpg

Interesting that the figure isn't the one used used of the magazine shoot, apparently more than one was knocked up.

The video of the buyer being interviewed stating how he out bid Zack Ryder in the embers.

Probs already been posted in a random thread, couldn't see it on here and the news is a week or so old now. Either way...

Laugh at $15k, cry at $55k, cringe at Ryder

I'm a collector, made customs etc, but I mean what the flying fuck is this all about. Insane

    Edit - wrestlemania challenge 44.99 - wounded

  11. I'm funny with ales, have to be in the right mood these days, I used to love them but indulged too much as my fatha works for black sheep. He must have been there about 16-17 years or so now, while it was still in its infancy.

If nothing else, I was privileged enough to work a few days in my teens with my dad so got to go to a lot of lively country free houses, when that's they all supplied.

To me, a nice pint is a nice pint, I'm not massively fussy anymore regarding what's in the pot, but I am fussy about what I eat before having ale.

If your in the Newcastle area and like ales, the bridge tavern is fairly new, just under the bridge on the quayside. It's owned by an ex club promoter called Dave stone, and has its own micro. It has 2 fairly decent bars in there, with a decent array of pumps, probs double figures.

    http://www.thebridgetavern.com/index.html

Another nice one is the schooner in gateshead, again recently taken over by the guy who helped to establish other decent pubs in the toon. It also does some of the best home made pub grub in town, with an Americana vibe, it's my fav drinking hole at the moment.

  12. Things wrap up 4 or 5 if I remember correctly, and there's a decent pub called The Turf that's part of the football ground right next to the venue. There's another pub closeby called the Plas Coch, but it's one of those shit food chain motherfuckers. The venue is pretty big, but can get really really fucking busy. There's normally an after party too at a nightclub in town if anyone's staying overnight.

My other halfs sister lives on the Wirral so I was going to train it and stay at hers, but depending on what folk are doing after the event, ill be up for a couple of jars.

Don't think ill be paying for any photo shoots like, I'm guessing you can take your own camera to take pics (providing your buying some merch or autograph or something)?

  13. Ahh sound, what's the crack then butch... How big is the venue? how many are expected to attend (punters)? Is there a half decent pub near by and what time do things tend to wrap up?

I'm mainly going for the wrestling side of things but there's a few names I've noticed that have spiked my interest... Boycie for one.

Tekkers- are you going to modify the first page and delete the 2013 content? If your planning to keep on top of it ill keep checking back. I fancy a mooch to some meet & greets this year.

Would be nice to see if there's any more Q&As this year, such as the cornette one.

  14. Random thoughts... Would a feud between the Wyatts and Goldy/Cody work with a meaningful outcome, such as Cody falling victim to the brainwashing, leading to the family pleading with Cody and the inevitable rhodes split and a new direction for Cody being all dark an Raven esque?

    Or is that shite?

  15. Film - Foxcatcher

"The story of Olympic Wrestling Champion Mark Schultz and how paranoid schizophrenic John duPont killed his brother, Olympic Champion Dave Schultz."

Now... Yes, I saw the name David Schultz and became excited. I had no idea there was another 'wrestler' called David Schultz burn in June in the 50's.

Turns out there was, and Michael Scott isn't keen
