This is a man bereft of shame and dignity. I honestly donā€™t think heā€™ll resign and will hang on until he is booted out in disgrace.Ā
    Ā

I also think itā€™s important not to lose sight of Javid and Sunak being cunts. Same goes for any other tories who resign. They were fine with the way they fucked us over and lined the pockets of their mates and donors, they were fine with us looking like a laughing stock on the world stage, but when the Tory party starts to look bad, thatā€™s when they have a conscience? Ā Fuck em, bunch of cunts each and every one of them.Ā

Absolutely agree that he may well try and hold on. He's now a bit like the T1000 at the end of Terminator 2, trying to change as much as he can to keep going. That said, those two are far too high profile for him to survive it I think.

Pretty telling they think the balance has only been tipped now. Not a shred of integrity exists within their party at any level.

  2. Edit - wrote a long post, realised it's probably too personal for the forum.Ā

Short version, see some of where you're coming from @Suplex Sinnerbut think you're being harsh on the workforce. And being harsh on the SNP come to think of it because the issue you raise was a Labour policy when they were in Government at Hollyrood.

    Stranger ThingsĀ

Just utterly fantastic ending to the series and everything I hoped it would be.

Feel a bit of an emotional wreck after that.Ā

Sensational TV. About 30 minutes into the finale I was about to say it was underwhelming. I held off knowing how well the Duffer Brothers write and I wasn't wrong. The last hour was an absolute rollercoaster and reinforced my view on Max and Lucas being the best twosome in the show.Ā

Having several family members in teaching the absolute shambles the SNP have presided over would be criminal in any other country. Ruined the curriculum. Forced all early education practitioners to go through years of additional qualifications regardless of experience or existing qualifications and what's it achieved? Nothing. The number of kids getting to school that cannot read or write has increased year on year.

    Ā

I get that you're using second hand experience here but what exactly do you mean by early education practitioners? If you mean staff working with birth to 5 year olds then you are way off the mark. There has not been years and years of extra qualifications achieving nothing. I won't get into primary education but in terms of Early Years the current Scottish vision is tremendous and it's working. Not every target has been achieved but Scotland has some of the best early years educators in Europe. I've been to Nordic countries and observed the practice, which in many cases is at the same level we have here. The biggest issue is we don't yet have the infrastructure to support the staff. With an independent Scotland my view is we have a better chance of achieving that.Ā

  5. Dear Billy is the best single episode of Stranger Things across all four seasons.Ā  I think Max and Lucas have the best chemistry out of all the pairings in the show.

  6. I can see the benefits of 2x30 minute halves but it's not workable at grassroots level. To make it work you really need an independent time keeper as it's not practical for the referee to have to stop and restart his watch for every stoppage.Ā

This has been a trend for a while though, every time IFAB introduce changes it widens the gap between the top and bottom of the game.Ā

  7. Hampden can be a good atmosphere for Scotland games but relies on the noise going right round the bowl. When it's a 50/50 or 70/30 split the atmosphere is poor.

Shocking transport links for a national stadium too. Made even worse tomorrow with the ongoing ScotRail shambles.

  8. I wasn't a huge fan of Picard's first season but stick it out as Mrs Chutney enjoyed it and she normally hates TNG stuff.Ā  Season two I thought started really strong but is now at the point it feels like an overly long and dull episode of TNG. Maybe a strong finish will save it but I'm struggling to see how anything beyond this season would be worth the time.Ā

What sort of pizza topping is under that batter, dare I ask?

Plain cheese. They had an option for cheese and onion. One place near me has a more diverse range but it doesn't work as well if there's a lot of topping.Ā

  10. We popped into the Coronation Cafe, an old style sit-in chippy in Glasgow today. It's been there since forever and they keep a copy of the 1972 menu on display. 24p for a full fish tea!

I had the sausage and haggis supper and I let my son have the half pizza crunch supper because I knew he wouldn't finish it and I'd get the rest. Which I did.Ā

I nearly took my son to that BCW show last night for his first ever show but had reservations as I thought KF had some sort of involvement with them.

With it being their first show back I thought perhaps the hyped up mystery team might have been someone with name value not just that creep.

My son opted for Sonic 2 at the cinema instead and I'm doubly glad he did now.

BCW have used the PBW ring for their shows for quite a while and looks like they will continue to do so. I can't see me attending Scottish shows again tbh. Even if none of the people that were identified during Speaking Out are on a show it would be very hard to find a show that doesn't have some wrestlers who have appeared on shows with those named. In my view if you're willing to work on the same show as them you're complicit.Ā

So far WrestleZone in Aberdeen may be the only exception to this and that's too far to travel for me.Ā

  12. Disappointed by the lack of Haggis discussed so far. For me ,to qualify as a Full Scottish, the plate consists of:

    Square sausageĀ

    Link sausage

    BaconĀ

    Tattie sconeĀ

    Black pudding

Haggis (circular pieces like the black pudding)

    Fried eggĀ

    Beans

    Fried bread

Because we're slightly posher in our house we sometimes add mushrooms, tomato (the missus not me) and a hash brown. More likely to be ordinary toast too rather than fried bread as I can't have white bread due to it triggering IBS.Ā

Other than Christmas day we usually have a plate made up of 5 items or so and not really deserving of the Full Scottish title. Still a good fry up nonetheless.Ā

  13. My primary school had a year end award ceremony. As well as the usual sports stuff and the odd maths competition, each class had three awards to give out. These were general excellence, progress and effort and diligence. Given the way it worked out they may as well have called them bright kid, done better than we expected and no chance for this one.Ā

Some of the parents, mainly mums, used to get really hyped up about it and it became a bit tense at times if two friends were both in with a shout of winning general excellence.Ā

    Spoiler- Breaking Kayfabe

The should of darts hitting a board these days is faked. Even when youā€™re chalking a game you donā€™t hear anything as loud unless youā€™re throwing darts at a wooden board. What they do is have a sensory board behind the dartboard, when it is triggered by a dart hitting the board, the sound you hear on TV is a sample of a bass/kick drum.Ā

Wayne Mardle denied this was true I think. He claimed it was just a microphone but it's clearly not a natural sound.Ā

  15. I did a course of CBT to help with anxiety, particularly catastrophic thinking. I found it helped in the sense it gave me some strategies to employ whenever things got a bit much. The underlying anxiety is still very present but I do find I'm much less likely to let it overwhelm me.Ā

  16. My son tested positive on a lateral flow last Sunday night. His stepmum and I are both boosted and she also had Delta back in August. He had some very mild symptoms on Monday and was fine by Tuesday, in fact Pre-Covid he'd have been back at school after a day or two.

He's on day 8 now and still continuing to show positive so will likely need to do the full 10 days. We've been testing daily and are both negative. As he's only 11 we haven't been able to isolate him away from us and I've had to do his tests too. Have been expecting to test positive every day but so far so good. Although we don't have to we've isolated too aside from one of us popping out for shopping a couple of times. Just seems to be the sensible thing to do and we're fortunate that we're both homeworkers anyway.Ā

  17. I had a few lessons when I was 16, one of those weekend academies on private land. I hated it and put it mainly down to being so bad at using the gears. Didn't take lessons again until I was about 24 and toyed with going automatic. Opted for manual and although I took a while to get used to the gears, I had a good instructor who was patient and kept me right.

I passed first time and found the test much easier than expected. Keeping in mind that it was shorter than a normal lesson and being given two manouevers early on that I knew had gone well helped. I'm always keen on preparing mentally for stuff with a lot of visualisation, definitely worked for my driving test.

I can see why an automatic would make sense for se but ultimately it is more expensive and could limit your options later on. For example, I've worked for places that use pool cars where all of them were manual. That's why you'll see certain jobs looking for a Full UK manual license rather than just full UK.Ā

Yeah I enjoy an Escape Room. It completely depends on who you do it with though obviously.Ā

The first time I did one, was one of the first ones around in London (London Bridge IIRC) and went with two ex colleagues and we had a blast.

We didn't get it done in time and had to call through for extra clues, but we all just really had fun.

I can imagine doing it with people who are super competitive isn't all that much fun.

    Ā

We did one with the wider family, men against women as this place has two identical rooms. My brother and his wife didn't speak for a few days after it, which is a bit much. The women's team won by a good 15 minutes, mainly as my brother and I disagreed in a clue. Turned out we were both wrong.

I did one with Mrs Chutney and our son at Stirling Jail, which was great as it had a good backstory and has geared to include younger players.

That's a decent wee game that. I used to enjoy a crossword but couldn't tell you the last time I did one.Ā

As a family we really enjoy an Escape Room but have found the board game or online versions to be a bit rubbish.Ā

  20. Got my third vaccine on Wednesday, straight back to work and no McDonald's. Ended up feeling really bad yesterday, worse than the first one.Ā

So my vaccine history has gone:

First dose - no unhealthy foods, felt terrible.

Second dose - unhealthy food and pub the next day, no side effects.

Third dose - no unhealthy foods, felt even worse than first dose.

Its about time the JCVI, Smith and Whitty started to take note of this.

Iā€™m looking for some help after getting burned in the run up to my sonā€™s birthday this year and then again in this run up to Christmas:

    Ā

Can anybody recommend somewhere online, be it a specific website or a Twitter/Instagram/Facebook account, that tells you in advance which new WWE and/or AEW figures are going to be released in stores and when those release dates are?

    Ā

I have seen certain figures in both Smyths and B&M Bargains this year and thought ā€œI must remember to come back in a couple of weeks and buy thisā€, only to find an entirely different set of figures are in stock two weeks later.

I use wrestlingshop.com. UK based and you can set up email alerts for any 'coming soon' figures and it's helped me immensely with some of the harder to get ones that sell out quickly. Loyalty points and excellent customer service too.Ā

In a previous job i was a FTE at a managed service provider and was based fully at the clientā€™s office.Ā
I had to travel frequently and i queried if i should be getting paid for time that i spent travelling to/from places that were often 10 * hours flights away.

My manager dismissed it saying that because the client was US based and that my US colleagues dont get it then we dont get either. And that weā€™re bound by the US terms. Sorry !!

    Ā

At i time i bought it but thinking back it that was complete bollocks , i was based in Ireland so surely Irish law applied in that sense Ā ? Ā

Anway separately I ended up moving to a new job soon after but it always bugged me that iā€™d potentially been done out of cash essentially ā€¦

    Ā

Anybody have any experience about getting paid to travel for work ?

I drive regularly to visit different services for work. My paid working time starts as soon as I leave the house, although mileage is calculated from home or office, whichever is the lesser distance.Ā
