  1. So, presumably by your criteria, Duane, if Conor Burns doesn't throw his weight behind this campaign next time you write to him he is a paedophilia supporter?

It's not my criteria, I've simply quoted what's being said by the lady running the campaign, I do think she needs to be a bit careful what she does choose to publish.

My personal answer is no, that would be unfair, he's simply chosen not to get involved for whatever reason. I'll therefore not waste my energy with him again on this matter.

There are 649 MPs if I'm not incorrect plus of course the MSPs for people to contact in Scotland, where the alleged abuse took place. As the campaign continues to build hopefully a group of around 20 will take up the cause and get some answers. It's just a matter of numbers.

Anyway that's the latest, for those interested in writing to their representative to see what reply they receive, template letters are available on the website, it doesn't even cost a stamp, you can email, supply your address and you should receive a reply.

@Loki, obviously the inquiry you refer to wasn't satisfactory or people wouldn't still be wanting answers.

  2. For those interested in hearing updates:

Here's the second reply from my MP

Thank you for your further email about the case of Hollie Greig. It is clearly a very disturbing case, and I understand your continued concern.

There are however rules within which MPs have to operate, no matter how compelling a case. There is a strict rule that MPs only seek to intervene in cases that relate directly to their constituents. I note that Hollie abd her mother have moved to Shropshire, and now live in Owen Paterson's constituency. He is an experienced MP, and I am sure he will do all he can to assist her.

    Yours sincerly

    Conor Burns

Anyone here from Shropshire? Feel free to write to Owen Paterson and ask him some questions!

    And from Robert Green's blog

    Mark Daly And The BBC

I was very surprised to hear Tony Rodgers announce on his radio show that on December 3rd 2010 he received an unsolicited email from BBC reporter Mark Daly which stated :

"Just wondering if you've woken up to the nasty self-publicising little conman that is Robert Green yet ?. I take it you are no longer peddling the Hollie Greig story. "

I am very grateful for the kind words which Tony used to defend me on air but I am utterly bewildered at this latest bizarre action from Daly.

It was Daly who first contacted me in April 2009, within days of the News of the World running the story that Hollie had been awarded

  3. Making the news currently is the 7/7 inquest. There are still unanswered questions going by what I read in the i on Friday. No mention of the training drill happening on the day and in the same place as where the bombs went off. And check out this picture from the CCTV footage on 7/7:

    04_muslims_cctv_35.jpg

The rather suspect image has never been explained away in any investigations.

    7/7: the conspiracy theories

By Darshna Soni Updated on 04 June 2007

Darshna Soni reports on the conspiracy beliefs surrounding 7/7 at seven.

There are a number of apparent inconsistencies in the official version of events surrounding the July bombings which have led to questions, rumours and conspiracy theories.

Many of these can be found on the web. Some call themselves truth campaigners, other are the same people who believe 9/11 and the assassination of JFK were all ordered by the American government.

They list evidence which apparently doesn't add up. For example, the official Home Office report into the bombings stated that the four bombers caught the 7.40am train from Luton to London. However, there was no 7.40 that morning, it had been cancelled. The Home Secretary, John Reid, apologized for the error in parliament, blaming erroneous first-hand witness accounts.

Whichever train the bombers did catch, when they got to London, there appears to be no photograph of the 4 of them together in the capital - no CCTV either, despite London having one of the highest numbers of surveillance cameras of any city in the world.

Of the one photograph there is of the men - questions have been raised about its authenticity. It apparently shows railings coming out of mens' arm.

There are lots of other theories. For example, one company is reported to have been running a security exercise on the day. Another eye witness says no Asians got on the bus at all.

Also thought I'd bring this to your attention:

7/7 researcher Muad'Dib was on trial the same day as Julian Assange - 11/11/10, yet his case got no mainstream media attention. He's since been imprisoned for 140 plus days.

To find out more on Muad'Dib's case visit Friends of Muad'Dib - you can also download his video 7/7 Ripple Effect, watch it then decide why he was imprisoned. Imprisoned for providing evidence to aid justice and truth?

Apols if others think this should be slotted into the Fortean/Conspiracy theory thread, personally I don't see this sitting neatly along with stuff about aliens and 2012 end of the world theories.

  4. I don't think jail is always the answer for crime it doesn't stop crime, but if you go to prison you've been taken out of society for the crime/s you committed and therefore lose your rights to participate in society. Be a good boy, leave prison then vote.

Apparently women have the vote too. I've heard they might even have prisons but that can't be right. ;)

    OK, or good girl :p

  5. I don't think jail is always the answer for crime it doesn't stop crime, but if you go to prison you've been taken out of society for the crime/s you committed and therefore lose your rights to participate in society. Be a good boy, leave prison then vote.

Couldn't decide whether to post this here or in the positivity thread. The Zeitgeist Movement seems to be positive thing but it's about political philosophy too:

Times in well with the Egyptian uprising.

I've watched up to 42mins, impressed so far.

  6. It was good this week as it had some Pikey fights but that is what Youtube is for, bare knuckle boxing. Although one of the boys in this clip (Paddy Doherty) was the focal point of the Gypsy show this past week

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQzYnbljZ9Y

(youtube link didn't work for me)

Was it the bare-knuckle boxer who was on a Bravo programme (with Danny Dyer)? Remember him saying, "don't call me a pikey, call me a cunt, but don't call me a pikey".

I'm without Sky for a couple of weeks, just when Extreme are showing WEC cards :( Looks I'll watching be watching more e4 and bbc 3. Still got Showcase (201) for my tinfoil-hat viewing

Yay! Still got Russia Today and Al Jazeera English

  7. When you are aware of a crime or wrong-doing and do not take action it is a crime in itself.

Justice must be sought and the case needs to be brought out into the public domain.

Have you sent your information to the media or officials, or are you just posting it on internet forums where it will have little to no impact at all?

I'm not having a dig, I'm just curious as to how far your campaign has spread.

Freaky, just to make it clear this isn't my personal campaign, I'm just doing my little bit to help by writing to my MP and encouraging others to do likewise. The reason of posting on a forum (or social networking site) is to reach people in other parts of the UK and take up the same action, I've asked those who want to do their bit to PM me and I'll forward them the new letter for their own MP (or member of Scottish/Welsh assemblies).

The lady behind the campaign has contacted the media etc but it has yet to reach the public via the mainstream media. However there has been banners put up in prominent places and leaflets handed out around the country, as you can see reported on the website and in the video I posted recently, it is hard though when the papers/TV won't cover the story.

  8. I understand a lot of single people with children are less likely emphasize with the case since they aren't parents, sorry you see it that way martyn.

How do you know I'm not a parent? You're presuming because I haven't mentioned it in here?

I have a 7 year old son actually. The birth of my son didn't mean that I had to switch off my bullshit filter though.

Scan and post the letter you recieved from your MP then......

I don't recall saying you aren't a parent, I wouldn't have known, I've simply said some of us are parents on here, as well as young single blokes. I replied that I'm sorry you didn't like my approach of appealing to parents, child abuse is a very emotive topic to confront,I understand that and we all react differently to this story. I could of appealed to anyone in Scotland since the Greigs are from there or Shropshire since they relocated there.

I have sent the email to my MP, complete with my postal address, same as I did last year.

Some info from the letter to give you all a better idea of this second campaign:

MPs need to be made to realise a) this is not going away and a few crisp lines from Frank Mulholland, Solicitor General for Scotland dismissing Hollie's allegations doesn't wash with anyone b) their own character and career is on the line here. We the public want to hear from those who represent us where they stand on this issue, now they know that a paedophile gang which rapes handicapped children is on the loose in Scotland and that their senior colleagues and the police are protecting these perverts, what are they going to do? Are they going to stand up for the children or for the paedophiles?

If the MP doesn't respond within 10 days say, send the email again and then if necessary a 3rd time. If still no response after 3 mailings, we will have to put your MP on the black-list of those who support paedophilia...

The ones who do respond in the ways requested in the email will be 'MPs for Hollie', a wonderful new breed of humane and compassionate MPs! My idea is to get together a group together of say 20 or 30 such humane MPs out of the 649, to begin making a noise in parliament about this issue. It will take courage on their part because the paedophiles are extremely nasty and use hit-men to silence opponents q.e.d., that's why the MPs need to be in a group.

By the way when you write to your MP they have to respond if you provide a postal address.

  9. Not this again......

Duane, if you truly believe in this cause you will scan and post the letter you received in reply from your MP.

You say many others have wrote to their MP's. I would honestly be genuinely interested to find out which ones replied. If they don't respond positively are they automatically marked as having "something to hide"?

Poor show playing the "parent" card too. That's the equivalent of saying "How would you feel if it was you....". Which is the worst argument ever.

    I'm doing that.

I don't know what ones did reply first time around, seems most were aware but didn't want to take it up since not being their local constituency. Doesn't mean they'll be marked as having something to hide but I see what you mean, it means they don't want to help see justice be sought.

I understand a lot of single people without children are less likely emphasize with the case since they aren't parents, sorry you see it that way martyn.

Here's the website for those that want to keep up with the latest on the case or indeed to action by writing to their MP. www.holliedemandsjustice.org

As I said in my last reply I'll leave it as that, I'm not here to argue, little to be gained. Perhaps I'll post an update when I hear from my MP.

  10. Loki (and others), you are entitled to your opinions, you've checked out the information on this case / cause and made your decision that there is something dodgy about Hollie's mother and Robert Green My opinion differs, I don't see it that way (I've met Robert Green and others campaigning for Hollie and Anne in person and judge them to be good people, doing what they feel is the right the thing to do). A down syndrome girl was sexually abused by her father, brother and other people that should have been trusted, her mother was abused by the authorities/police (and continues to be harassed), a murder (Hollies uncle) took place plus there is the whole a cover-up by the establishment and media.

When you are aware of a crime or wrong-doing and do not take action it is a crime in itself.

Justice must be sought and the case needs to be brought out into the public domain.

I'll leave it as that, I won't bother replying further on this topic, nothing gained by arguing.

  11. I've not picked up 63 yet but did enjoy the previous issue. In part due to FSM I converted to MMA but still enjoy TNA, watch WWE Experience on occasions and love watching the classic stuff on DVD, so still have an interest in reading about wrestling but like some UFC coverage too.

Good to see more of an emphasize on the interviews and less speculation features.

The articles that appealed to me most were - The Ultimate Fighter, Japan and the tough men of wrestling. As has been said in a previous magazine thread, what works well are articles about a style of wrestling etc (or MMA promotion/fighter) you might be less familiar with such as the articles on Japanese wrestling.

  12. Justice is still being sought. I wrote to my MP last year as did many other individuals, the response being they are aware but don't want to get involved in fear of jeopardizing their political careers it seems, since it'll expose those fellow politicians involved in the cover-up.

Clearly those not behind this cause have let themselves known in this thread, that is their own choice. I've no interest in hearing from them. However I am interested in hearing from those backing Hollie's cause from different parts of the country who are willing to write to their MP in order to bring them onside. I'm appealing particularly to the fellow parents on the ukff.

Anyone wishes to take this action please PM me your email addy and I'll forward you the email to send to your local MP.

  13. I thought we did have a written constitution, just not all written in one place.

Yeah, but that's not what's generally meant by the term "written constitution". An unwritten constitution means that a country's laws are put in place by mainly a framework and accumulation of legal precedents and decisions, over an underlying base of laws as passed by Parliament - it allows for a lot more flexibility, and makes amendments and changes in law easier. It also gives judges a lot more leaway in interpreting laws in their spirit, as opposed to the letter.

The US constitution is a written one, meaning everything is codified into one document, with all legal boundaries and demarcations clearly outlined, and in accordance with which judges must make their decisions. Laws require more work and consensus to be passed, as they need to be reviewed before passing to see if they're constitutional.

Personally, I prefer an unwritten constitution, because I believe it allows for interpretation of the spirit of the law, rather than the letter of the law; I think the literality of the US constitution is one of the reasons why America as such an entrenched litigious culture.

Cheers for that. Politics isnt really my thing. :)

I'm still studying up on it but my understanding is the Magna Carta - Great Charter is the basis of our constitution and the rule of (Common) law. Acts and Statutes are added onto what already exists, but what is set out in Magna Carta should not be taken away.

  14. Duane, you should watch Al-Jazeera too - it's on Freeview now and it's fucking awesome. Probably the best news service in the world right now, though it's obviously a bit Arab-centric. They have some heavyweight British and American journalists and don't shy away from the bad shit.

Cheers Loki, sounds good, I like to get a different perspective on the what's going on. The BBC, Sky and the Yank ones reek of biased propaganda too much for me. We're never going to know the full story of 9/11 and 7/7 coming from the BBC because "they" don't want us to know.

Whilst I've got that bee in my bonnet here's 2 concise 7/7 videos (both less than 1 hr) to watch over the weekend:

    7/7 Ripple Effect

    (57mins)

The individual who made this has been extradited from Ireland to England and imprisoned for sending copies of his film to a court dealing with a case relating to 7/7.

77 Mind The Gap (full version)

    (41 mins)

The researcher on this one worked in intelligence.

Also watch the Alex Jones interview with Daniel Obicheke - bus bomb incident eye-witness.

Part 1 of Daniel Obicheke Interview

Watch them and make up your own minds whether or not the public is being deceived.

  15. I love the fact people like Steveo and Duane will have been on the internet losing their shit about that video and now it comes out its a viral ad for a movie. Amazing.

    "losing their shit"

Interesting analysis you've drawn from me simply posting a video.

"People like", as in the slightly madcap internet population who go nuts over these things.

    I bet you did though.

I've lost my shit! Help me find it DAMN YOU KJ! :p

  16. Mark Thomas Comedy Product! Excellent show. He does a weekly thing on Radio 4 Duane, if you can tune your E-Meter to that.

Cheers Loki, E-Meter tuned in ;) A positive example the media isn't 100% controlled, with him being on Radio 4. Plus there's the Keiser Report on Russia Today offering an alternative view within the mainstream

  17. I also spotted this via UK Column:

Liverpool pulls out of Cameron's Big Society

Reuters) - Liverpool City Council said on Thursday it was withdrawing from Prime Minister David Cameron's flagship Big Society project after losing 100 million pounds of central government funding.

Analysts said the council's decision was embarrassing but not fatal for the scheme, which Cameron has described as his "great passion" and a new type of politics amounting to the biggest redistribution of power in modern times.

Liverpool, controlled by the opposition Labour party, was one of four pilot authorities for the policy which aims to decentralise power and expand the voluntary sector.

Critics say the programme is a smokescreen for public spending cuts that the government is pushing through to tackle a record budget deficit.

Liverpool City Council leader Joe Anderson told Cameron in a letter the authority was pulling out of the scheme after losing 100 million pounds of funding that would have been spent on helping the voluntary sector tackle deprivation.

"How can the city council support the Big Society and its aim to help communities do more for themselves when we will have to cut the lifeline to hundreds of these vital and worthwhile groups?" Anderson said.

"I have therefore come to the conclusion that Liverpool City Council can no longer support the Big Society initiative, as a direct consequence of your funding decisions," he added.

Last week the council said 1,500 jobs would be cut to meet a 141 million pound reduction in spending over the next two years.

A spokesman for Cameron said the government was examining the council's decision.

"We are looking into what the issues are and whether there were particular barriers and problems, and seeing if there is anything we can do to unlock that," the spokesman said.

Tony Travers, an expert on local government at the London School of Economics, said public spending reductions meant councils would end up cutting support for the kind of voluntary bodies championed by the Big Society programme.

"However well intentioned the Big Society is, cuts to public expenditure undermine it. And this is just a physical manifestation of that problem," Travers told Reuters.

Labour said Liverpool's withdrawal showed the project was imploding. The government has struggled to explain the policy to the public, with 63 percent in a recent YouGov opinion poll saying they didn't understand what "Big Society" meant.
