  1. Guess I'm on an island in not minding the MJF/Santana/Ortiz bit then lol. In a world where MJF is a prick he came across as sincere. Wouldn't be surprised to see PnP side with Maxwell come split time. Hager saying Wardlow isn't pulling his weight while away because of family reasons made him come across as a dick. Interested in seeing this story unfold.

They are really taking their time with Sting declaring his reasons for coming in. Don't mind it personally but do the audience in 2020?

The amount of horror movie clichés in this Shida/Abadon feud is funny I do love Abadon though. Feels way more scary than The Fiend

At this rate Shawn Spears is going to end up with more gimmicks than Ed Leslie.

Guess we have a date for when Miro turns on Sabian

The Young Bucks are just awesome in the ring. Got great matches out of two young teams in a month span.

  2. Worst Pro Wrestler- Dexter Lumis

Worst Match of the Year- Haunted House match on Halloween Havoc

Worst Event- Wrestlemania 36 second night

    Biggest Letdown- Miro

Stupidest moment of the year- The booking of Rhea Ripley. She was the winner of the main event on a NXT that thrashed AEW on 18/12 last year and one year on it feels like they have dropped the ball on her.

  3. Best pro wrestler - Jon Moxley, Go Shiozaki, Young Bucks

Best women's wrestler- Bayley, Asuka, Sasha Banks

Best British Wrestler - Drew McIntyre

Match of the Year- Young Bucks vs FTR, Go Shiozaki vs Suigura, Takahashi vs Ospreay

    Best wrestling event- Wrestle Kingdom

Best wrestling show - AEW Dynamite

Best feud or angle- Rhodes vs MJF

Moment of the Year- The tease of Page hitting the Buckshot Lariat on Omega at Revolution, The 10 lashes on Cody Rhodes, Sue's appearance on BTE

    Best babyface- Adam Page

    Best heel- MJF

Funniest moment of the year- "Hungman Page, will you join our Dark Orgy", Sue completely missing John Silver with the papers and everyone corpsing including Brodie Lee.

Best tag team- Young Bucks, FTR, Omega and Page

Best wrestling podcast--Our Vantage Point, OSW, WrestleMe

Best use of social media - Joe Henry releasing pandemic related videos on Facebook (My non wrestling friends love them)

Aye it screamed trying to be edgy and new when they gave it to Otis but as usual, panicked because their crap booking was losing viewers and decided to change it up. Not been a really prominent MITB holder/cash in for a while.

3 of the last 4 male Money in the Bank holders have failed in their cash-ins.

That sums up the lack of forward thinking in creative

  5. Bruce: The ratings were real bad on Monday. AEW beat us on 18-49. What do we do.

Vince: Goddamn it, I have an idea. Let's set a man on fire. Thats what the tiktok kids are into today

No one is forced to sign a contract with WWE though. There are plenty of opportunities elsewhere and a lot of options. If they want to take a chance with Vince then that's their choice really. I doubt they're naive enough to sign up without being aware of the potential struggles.

I understand why wrestlers are signing with NXT/WWE. With the pandemic meaning less opportunity in the independent scene. Getting locked up to a contract with money coming in makes sense. They just shouldn't act shocked if a guy weighing 100 pounds more than them with a better body and is half a foot taller ends up being called onto the main roster before them.

  7. Randy Orton should never be a face. Orton is just a great diabolical heel. Same goes for Charlotte Flair. Her in-ring presence screams heel.

Turning Jon Moxley heel would be insane now. He has this kick ass aura and the idea that anyone can boo him seems insane.

Also, New Day as heels would just be weird.

I certainly can't remember him criticizing the booking and he's usually very positive on that front, in regards to everything done is done for a reason and is to lead somewhere.  Dave was also super-high on the Omega/Callis stuff, thinking it has the potential to be the best angle in wrestling in a long time and could be a real game-changer for AEW.

He's more critical than people realise. He shat on the Young Bucks/Revival build up, I think he isn't the biggest fan of Brandi's obsession with being a heel and he's frequently talking about their being too many people on the roster right now. He doesn't seem too enthusiastic about Hangman being part of the Dark Order either judging by reviews either.

  9. Show was fine, bit busy as people have mentioned. Maybe the bad ratings last December spooked Tony and Co into booking like this so people won't stay away. There isn't going to be any relenting on the busy with two big shows planned over New Year.

Young Bucks-Evans/Angelico was everything I'd thought it'd be and it was fun in being that. Acclaimed look the business but isn't it way too early for them to be in the tag picture

The Sting stuff was great. Nice to see the stuff that we think is going to happen (Sting is taking notice of Darby) actually happen. I welled up when Sting hugged Uncle Tony. Uncle Tony saying "It's Stiiiiiiing" is going to be my text notification for now on.

The "Seven" reference with Dustin popped me. Just need a Black Reign mention before Xmas and AEW seals promotion of the year.

Hangman potentially freeing the DO from Brodie is a good story for him while we wait for him to beat Omega and become the ace.

Why is the women's champion being booked like Seth Rollins in this Abadon feud?

I know she is the wife of one the EVP's but can someone at AEW please sit Brandi down and tell her that her obsession with being a heel is not only weird but stupid. Cody is a great face and looks set to be one for the time being so having her be a heel makes no sense. I get the baby steps regards Shaq. The earliest he can wrestle is All Out because of the NBA schedule, so why hot shot anything?

When Wardlow and Hager do have their match, I just want it to be like that match in NOAH earlier in the year when the guys just stared at each other for the first half hour.

Omega/Callis are class. Interesting that Bucks/Rhodes haven't said anything on TV yet regarding the events of last week unless I missed something. You'd imagine this is going to be a plot point for the Bucks to forgive Page because Omega turned his back on the company but who knows.

Nice to see Gedo guest book the main event of the show with all the run ins. MJF holding onto the ring for another year makes all the sense.

  10. Due to a couple of mental health days off. I didn't have the opportunity to say how much I hated the booking of the women's War Games match. It was pretty ironic that on the night Impact Wrestling became relevant that NXT did a TNA with the faces having the advantage in War Games. I expected there to be a "Dusty Finish" and normality to proceed but then there wasn't one. As for the match, I would have enjoyed it when I was 12 with all the incessant weapon shots but that was 20 years ago. Whoever laid that out should learn wrestling psychology.

    Enjoyed Ciampa/Thatcher

    Dexter Loomis sucks

If you'd told me that Punishment Martinez would be one the best things in NXT when he was in ROH I would have though you were crazy

The Undisputed Era vs British Invasion war games match was really good but 45 minutes? Really? Pat McAfee as a wrestling personality is awesome but him kicking out of a Canadian Destroyer almost caused me to smash my ipad to pieces. Its hilarious to me that there are people out there who think AEW is the worst thing ever but think that spot was OK. Stans gonna Stan I guess.

NXT did used to be awesome right? I'm not just imagining it?

Vince using NXT as a instrument in trying to squash AEW has ruined NXT.

Taping 4 weeks of NXT meant storylines that were logical and made sense. The pandemic hasn't helped either. A lack of proper crowd has hurt them. I'm pretty sure Full Sail would have shat all over Dexter Loomis and maybe we wouldn't have to endure him had Triple H and co realised that the serial killer is in fact shite

Dread to see the girls you’ve gone down on in that case.

Well it has been ages since I've had a date which your comment to my attempt at a light heartened got me really upset about, so thanks c**t

It was Bischoff trying to give it a cosmetic facelift because they were falling behind, thinking it would make a difference.

I fucking hated it. It was the equivalent of trading your new Samsung Galaxy for a grey Nokia 3310.

Tony Schiavone compares the rubbish logo to a vagina which is 100% accurate

  14. The "Sudden Death" match was blatant false advertising.

Everyone hates Matt Riddle is the most realistic storyline WWE have done in years

Who's the face in the Wyatt/Orton feud?

Ricochet is a jobber and that sucks

As a newbie, I'm going to play on the safe side so I'll do a spoiler box on the big revelation on RAW so no one gets upset with me

    Spoiler

    Reckoning is Mia Yim

The more I read people mentioning that, the more I can absolutely see that as an issue. I know some don't like the 2 hours but I've felt on the whole it's still been an easy 2 hour watch and they haven't struggled too much with filling that with watchable content. However it's the overall positioning of NXT within the WWE structure. I was hugely disappointed that NXT wasn't involved in Survivor Series this year but when you compare it to where it was last year, it's night and day. Hell, I've enjoyed NXT since day 1 and I'll always have a soft spot for it, but even I can recognise that it's not what it used to be when it was at its best.

I don't know how they get that back or even if they can get that back with AEW on the scene because quite frankly it's more than just a viable alternative. The only reasons I can see people picking NXT over AEW as a career move would be:

    a) You're a woman.

    b) You already have contacts in NXT and you believe you're going to get a better spot on the roster than in an already bloated AEW one.

    c) Your dream has been WWE forever and your heart is so stuck on that as an end goal.

Do I love NXT as much as I have done in the past? Probably not. But I do still enjoy it and I do still like a fair amount of the roster, even if they're not necessarily going anywhere.

Jake Atlas counts as option C I think
