There is a show that I read about a few weeks back called Jury Duty which sounds similar in that only one or two people knows its scripted. Anyone seen that?

Yes I saw a few episodes and was pleasantly surprised. Would recommend if you've got a few hours to kill

  2. Isn't there the theory that the first The Rehearsal is just that. A rehearsal for something to come? If so, it's exactly the type of mad shit he would do, and i'm here for it

Anyone else seen Beau is afraid? I knew nothing going in, it's like a 3 hour unreliable narrator odyssey about an extremely anxious and neurotic guy but it felt more like 5 hours. Crazy film, I still don't know if I enjoyed it or even understood it all but I am thinking about it a fair bit.

I thought the first 90 minutes were brilliant, then it sort of lost its way. I'm not sure if I enjoyed it either but it certainly did leave me thinking. I think he could have trimmed it and had a tighter film, but fuck it, he went for it

My interest in him has never been lower. So many different talents to focus on with that roster.

Lot's of people are cunts. So what? You think him being on that show ain't helping those others? You'll watch him come back. You know you will.

Anyway, not getting into a CM Punk chat again. I like him and am excited to see what happens. Good for you if you don't.

  5. Punk is a canny dude. He'll know how to play it. People kept saying 'mixed reaction' but I'm not sure it was that mixed. Also everyone already know.

Fuck it, I know people moan about him but it's gonna be an exciting summer for AEW.

Genuinely, if they had the "Bree Woo" interrupt Punk's return promo, in Chicago the heat might well be nuclear and I am all for it. Best in the World vs King of the Mountain, LFG

The amount of people who are wanting this on Social Media surprised me and then I realised how fucking great it would be. Bring it on!

I thought that it was a decent watch, but I can understand why it bombed financially as the intersection of people who will watch a 3 hour film about 1920s Hollywood and those that have an iron stomach probably wasn't going to cover the needed box office take.

It's a mess but there's some really good stuff in there. I admire that he took a huge swing.

  8. I thought BARRY was satisfying but the end went on a little too long. I liked the point of the end though.

Succession is just elite. Jeremy Strong has added Kendall to the TV character greats. I'm looking forward to rewatching the whole thing at some point as it's such a rewatchable TV show (watched the finale twice) Hats off to all involved. One of the true great satires of our time.

  9. Also we are in a world with EDGELORD wrestling fans on Twitter and other social media who think that they're being edgy and cool by saying BENOIT SHOULD BE IN THE HALL OF FAME and all that shit. It's mainly men of a certain age. Fuck them, they're not worth it and are mainly professional trolls.

By all means go back and watch his matches if you want, but fuck celebrating him

Sam Levinson's new show The Idol is getting absolutely battered right now, I quite liked Euphoria as it had some moments of brilliance amongst the laughable attempts at being "edgy" but this seems to push the latter and only the latter by what reviews are saying.

There seems to be a real backlash against him. I don't know much, I went out with a girl for a bit who liked Euphoria and I just saw it as SKINS with glitter.

She’s brilliant in this, such a great actress. I find her strangely alluring too. There’s definitely something about her.

Been an ulti crush for a while. One of the only reasons to watch Two & a Half Men

I assume that's the Video Archives podcast?

Yup it is their new episode as obviously Rick died on Friday.

Personally I absolutely love Quentin. Probably the last of the biog filmmakers who can open original films to massive audiences and have people talk about it good and bad. The podcast him and Avery did on STRAW DOGS is on of the best breakdowns of a film ever.

  13. Not sure where to put this, but Tarantino just did a full on hour or so one of his podcasts about the career of Rick Dalton. As a huge fan of OUATIH, it was quite something to listen to Tarantino do a full on career retrospective on that character (and treat him like he was real) Plenty of new writing as well. It's part 1 of 2. Well worth a listen if you love the movie and you can tell he absolutely loves that world.

Self indulgent of him? yes absolutely, but I don't care.
