First episodes are always hard to judge with the new Doctor. Bar the Eleventh Hour, which is the finest post-regeneration Doctor story ever, they are always about the new Doctor coming to terms with their new self rather than any threat.
It was OK. Whitaker was fine, she'll obviously grow massively as the series goes on. I liked Bradley Walsh and the other lad. Didn't see much point to the Police Officer, but again, I imagine she'll grow as we go on.
My worry is Chibnall as the main writer. Bar the first series of Broadchurch I haven't liked anything he's ever done (his Doctor Who stories up until last nights have not set the world on fire) But very happy to be proved wrong.
All in all very enjoyable and a promising start. It really benefits from being on a Sunday evening as well.

I am not, in any way saying this is ideal or what anybody wants. I simply asked if anyone can honestly tell me who they would put forward from the Democrat's to fight Trump who has a chance of winning? Fact is we are through the looking glass. I put Oprah forward as it is something that has been discussed (as has Michelle Obama) by people, and she would be able to take him on.
American politics does not follow the same conventions as most Democracies. Its Presidency has been held before by people who did not hold Political office (as is the case now)
I am not saying this is what I want, but can anyone see anyone taking on Trump who isn't something different?
-
And I suppose Trump was a stupid idea?
The fact is America is currently in a situation that the status quo is utterly not trusted by either side. Its why Bernie was the Democrats best chance last election. He was different. Not saying he would have won (he probably wouldn't have) but he definitely had a shot at convincing states like Michigan he was a good alternative.
There is absolutely nobody on the Democrat side who will trouble Trump in 2020. Fact is that they will have to think outside the box. She is just the sort of big name publicity machine that would be able to take him on. Also people like her.

Problem with the economy in the US and trickle down economics usually results in a bust at some point. Happened under Regan, Bush and no doubt will happen again (probably post 2020)
Its weird with the Republicans. Only once in 6 elections have they won the popular vote in a Presidential race yet they manage to get in due to the shit show of the electoral college. There are far more Liberals in America then it seems, yet Republicans know how to work that system and get themselves in power. The Democrats and the left in general really need to organise themselves.
As stupid as it seems, I really can only see Oprah having any chance against Trump in 2020. And this is where the US is at the moment.

I don't think he trashed the film, he just said they cut out his favourite bits of the film.
Fact is it should have been R Rated.

VENOM
I thought Hardy was brilliant as usual, he's sort of doing Ace Ventura at time. The scenes that work are the Brock/Venom buddy cop relationship. Anytime this isn't on screen the film is utter rubbish.

I don't think Austin is. I remember before the election he had a pop a few times on a radio show about him being a coward. I don't think Austin particularly cares really.
I know Foley is pretty vocally against Trump (hey a Foley positive!) Obviously Jim Cornette hates him.

Corrie always nails comedy. Even looking back, there's just brilliant character work going on. 'Enders rarely touches it, though it should. A bit more humor would be welcome (and not people like Gary etc)

I get that, and its admirable that he has come out to defend her. But surely it is part of the territory now, especially as they are so active on social media themselves. I hate to say it, but if you put yourself out there as much as the Bella's do, you open yourself up for way more criticism. I know some go way over the top, but that's twitter really (not saying that's right btw). I saw a lot of people defending her and those who were critical, were pointing out that she's been bloody awful in the ring.Â
-
It is a bit of an odd defence of her though 'I'm well dangerous also!!'

I love Peter Jackson's pre LOTR stuff. Great memories of watching Braindead. Loved The Frighteners, its a really fun movie. I've hated everything he's done since (LOTR just isn't my thing, odd as I do like fantasy)

Didn't he want to leave WWE and go back to being a wrestler? I remember Jericho saying as such that Jacobs knew exactly what he was doing.
A shame really as he came up with some good stuff in WWE

One thing that does bug me though is his name in Inglorious Basterds. There's nothing remotely Beary about hi
That was originally supposed to be Adam Sandler, which would have been 100 times better. Especially as when Sandler does serious, the underlying rage is always there.

Rewatched SOLO for the first time since the cinema. I still really like it. I love that the references are subtle (not the fan wankfest that was Rogue One) and that there's no mention of Jedi's etc. It has pacing issues and the cinematography is still awful, but i honestly think its a film that many will enjoy watching at home. Easily the best Star Wars movie since moving to Disney (I liked Force Awakens less each time I saw it)
My hype for MANDY is high

They are OK. Made better that you get to look at Kate Beckinsale for ages

I get wrestlers sort of defending it, but some of the rubbish they're coming out with to defend her is weird. Its not the first error. RVD must be sitting there confused.

I hope so, had a tenner on it in the summer. If he goes by Christmas this season it'll be twice Jose has earned me money with his sackings (backed him to go at Chelsea) So at least some good comes out of that tosser.
United knew what they would get with him. Its why they resisted giving him the job first time around. Wasn't it Bobby Charlton who apparently told the board he was bad news? Usually with Jose the winning offsets the general wankerishness and utterly boring football, but when that's not happening...what then?

Meg Ryan, even with that hair, was such a brilliant comedic actress. She was stunning looking but could play utterly goofy.
Echo the love of Joe Vs The Volcano.

I'm....liking Ziggler. This has been his best run in god knows how long (ever?) I can only assume this is purely down to McIntyre

My Time was great. I also miss Hunter's biker caps. I bloody loved late 99/2000 Triple H
-
It was heavily reported when he was cast that's why he was. Think variety or someone pretty much confirmed it. The fact he is barely in that teaser also leads me to believe that's who he is. Would be cool as well.
On the Joker footage. Everything about this film excites me.
-
Yeah. I barely remembered the Backlash win until you mentioned it. Would have been utterly great had he won the title at Mania by punting Triple H for the win. Maybe even 2 punts. You at least then can have Trips out for a bit and have a hot again feud when he returned in 3 months or so.
-
It was apparently the 'balls' comment. That whole interview was nonsense. Defoe actually asked some pertinent questions, but it was so awkward. Just interview them. I don't need to see players be shown their goals whilst they awkwardly stand at a weird angle.
Shreeves is pony. Thinks he's something more than he is. Type of guy who probably demands you call him 'Shreevsey' for the bants.

Yeah 2008 was a cracker.
2009 Orton for me. 2004 was better in terms of match quality and the build, but psycho Orton was fantastic to watch. The Vince punt was honestly shocking. Especially the replay. Mad old bastard Vince is!
The Stephanie DDT and the kiss whilst Triple H was handcuffed was fantastic. That feud was incredibly hot. A shame they did a stupid home attack and then finished it with a shitter of a match. But yeah, up until his recent run, 2009 Orton was great.
It's today then ... (Trump thread)

Totally. As I mentioned earlier Sanders had the opportunity to appeal to places that ultimately Trump picked up. It was an election for change and he was the candidate to take Trump on.
However, worth mentioning that Hillary still won the popular vote by about 3 million and lost those key states not by much at all. I don't see America having shifted massively to the far right. They just need to appeal to those states like Michigan that they have ultimately failed.
