As far as Twitter goes, it’s noise from a tribal minority and should be ignored. But even if you want to address it, there’s not much point doing it here, where we’re all in agreement that sex trafficking is horrific.

But that doesn’t justify Tony Khan’s comments - in fact, the context makes it worse. He’s used serious, grave allegations to take a flippant dig at WWE. It’s crass, and stupid.

And as I said in my original comment, I don’t agree with him saying it, and that he’s a twat for saying it. Just seems people can’t read or just want to make a cheap quip to get a few likes.

On the defamation piece, I'd still err on the side of caution. In the past 24/48 hours Vince has apparently produced written evidence from the complainant, at the end of their entanglement (refuse to say relationship as sounds gross in the context of the allegations) where she professes her love for him and how much she'll miss him etc

I don't know the validity of that evidence, or the effect it'll have on the case. There's no reason it couldnt both exist and be completely consistent with the allegations. That said, it probably does increase the likelihood that the case ends either with a settlement and a mutually agreed finding of no wrongdoing, or there's even a small chance that it all ends with no settlement and the complaint is not upheld and is found to be substantively untrue or unlikely to be true.

Is it the same/in relation to this one https://www.ringsidenews.com/2024/04/01/accuser-janel-grant-claims-coercion-in-alleged-love-letter-to-vince-mcmahon/

I’m going to point out the obvious again here. Before you allege anything online, maybe ask yourself the question of whether you could prove it, should someone opt to take legal action against you. Because that’s how defamation laws work in the UK - the onus is on you to prove the allegation is true, not on the individual to prove that it’s false. And in the case of one person mentioned here, they’ve not even been mentioned in lawsuits, so good luck with that.

Considering I’ve referenced a legal document and nothing more I think I’ll be ok thanks. But you think people are sickened by the Vince allegations? I think nearly everyone here is. And I think where you get your views and opinions from on that is interesting. Because if you look at Twitter, look at the replies to anyone who has posted the clip, you’ll find a lot of people saying

    1)She’s suing him for money

    2)He’s innocent until proven guilty

    3)AEW hired Jericho/Flair/Callis etc

    4)It’s all made up

Same within Facebook groups. It’s the same bullshit because quite frankly it’s too grim a situation to want to talk about (see also Ashley Massaro).

@Vamp you have a great take on it. I even said He’s a twat for saying it, because I think he is. He sure likes to take a lot of pages out of the Eric Bischoff playbook of Controversy Creates Cash. I thought him wearing the neck brace was genius and it was getting AEW talked about to a new audience. I don’t think this would have helped get more eyes on the product like his actions on Thursday did.

Exactly this. No amount of public arse licking of Triple H should make people forget that the majority of people in positions of power who enabled a culture where someone can be raped in the office ARE STILL AT THE COMPANY. Including that cunt Triple H himself.

As for Tony Khan's comments, yeah they're incredibly stupid but I don't really feel like they're anything really major or earth shattering in the grand scheme of things. Everyone laps it up when CM Punk talks shit but gets weirdly upset when Tony Khan does it.

I just think the ending of WrestleMania 40 could age like spoiled milk. At least they can cut them out of it.

  5. Once again I find it hilarious that the focus is completely on what he said rather than the overall picture.

Pearl clutching twats who have said little to fuck all about the lawsuit getting angry because he brought it up. Sums up both wrestling journalists and fans (especially the most tribal).

I’m  not saying I agree with him saying it, I’d rather he said nothing about them, but he ain’t wrong. I’ve seen a lot of “well achtually they fired Vince and so Tony is wrong to say that”, forgetting that 1) the lawsuit has both Vince and WWE as defendants and 2) we already know who some of the redacted individuals are that are named in the lawsuit.

When the outrage is more about what Tony said than what Vince and WWE is accused of, you know the balance is wrong. He’s a twat, but there are bigger twats in wrestling.

In other unrelated news wrestlings other famous Khan, Nick, put all of his TKO shares up for sale yesterday.

So apparently ole Platinum Max has been suspended from AEW for a rap on tv:

"Switchblade's what I switch. I'll fufill your fantasy and I'll make you my b****. Yo this dude's just making me sick. I'll violate you so bad you'll have to tell the legal team about the taste of my d***."

He certainly likes his gay sexual assault lines and storylines.

Anyway just before this suspension, he decided to drop a terrible rap about his dissatisfaction about his role in AEW.

I don’t think he is suspended, he trolls a lot, and Grizzled Young Veterans are fighting them on Collision

Reminds me of the time back at All In at Wembley where they made poor Dasha advertise tickets for the next Fulham games during breaks in play and getting booed out of the building

Was that during the Zero Hour? We only got into are seats as the Tag match was starting so missed a lot of that stuff before and had no recollection of that

I wouldn’t think much to the initial tweet, but Triple H’s reply is definitely interesting.

It probably means he’ll give him ringside for Clash at the Castle so they can show him on camera, just like Chris Tarrent and Vinnie Jones back in the day. The boos would be immense.

Plus, his work in NJPW means sweet FA if you don't watch NJPW.

I mean, to be fair I HAVEN'T watched his NJPW run, but I saw enough clips on social media to know how that fits into the wider picture. But I get your point, and maybe had this been featured on dynamite or Collison, just like the montages and clips from NJPW social media, it would have helped.

I have to admit, I'm just not feeling it with Okada yet. He's not bad, don't get me wrong, but he's not living up to the mystique built around him. I've not seen any of his work in Japan, so I can only go by what I've seen in AEW (and, erm, TNA I suppose)

It's still early days, but he's failed to stand out so far.

I thought his match with Pac was great. But I understand if you never saw his matches with Omega or Jericho at Wrestle Kingdom and are judging him on his few AEW matches thus far I can understand feeling underwhelmed. I think hes in a great spot with the new Elite though.

Jack Perry just has zero presence though, so feels like it was wasted on him. Okada should have been the one to do it instead of Perry.

Hard disagree. His work at NJPW was interesting if nothing else. The reveal at the PPV was the best example of a ring invader I’ve ever seen (topped with his cheeky grin, beautiful stuff), and what do the Bucks or Okada need it for? They all piss charisma. He’s been gone since August, responsible for their biggest name being fired. He needs a big introduction and the crowd so far seem massively into it. It’s exactly what he needs.

That makes sense then, I suppose. Hopefully they'll get a fuller length rematch one day.

They have had TV matches before which were pretty good actually. I definitely think having Julia wrestle people like Statlander and Nightingale are why she’s improved

  12. It’s a shame you didn’t enjoy the EVP Bucks @Devon Malcolm, I think this has been one of the better runs tbh. I also understand that Julia/Willow was so short because Julia’s been injured for a while now so it wasn’t what it was supposed to be.

  13. I finally saw Ospreay Danielson last night.it lived up to expectations. I don’t think we’ll see a better wrestling match this year. The post match antics were a bit much, but I guess it builds to the next stage of the story. Will also had another blinding press conference appearance. He’s really won me over the last 12 months.

As not a regular watcher of AEW, why was Jericho in his auld ECW getup? he's AEW's version of Xpac in 2001 in any event anyway. Really should head off on an extended world Fozzy tour for a while at this stage.

If only. As to Jericho’s attire, a few times during his run his reverted to a different gimmick (like the Painmaker), Lionheart Chris Jericho is one such gimmick and he’s be doing it for the last few months, even coming out to different music and Tron. Why? Because it’s Jericho.

She's 1, so later on today we'll be building things with Mega Blocks, reading stories and dancing to The Wiggles. If I'm lucky, I'll be able to do all of that without her stealing and throwing my glasses and/or phone.

Tbf that sounds delightful, miss those days

I was - by pure coincidence, I hadn't planned this - on annual leave, so that made it pretty straightforward. I'd have been in the same position had I not been, though. If I wasn't a dad, I'd have been able to watch Dynasty later in the day - but childcare takes priority, as you can imagine!

"Here you go kid, watch this Ipad, Daddy's using the big screen today". I did my usual try and watch some live then watch the rest tomorrow, but fell asleep about 90 minutes in, so will catch up with the rest tonight/commute home if the wifi isn't awful.

  17. @RedRooster How did you get to watch Wrestlemania night 2 so quickly? Although I agree I would rather more PPV's on a Saturday I guess having a weekly TV show scheduled makes it more difficult to do so.

Only watched a few matches before I fell asleep and got woken by Ospreay's pop as he made his entrance. I am saving that match until later tonight. But I m so glad Willow won. Julia has come on leaps and bounds in the last 18 months, but Willow has such great energy that I am glad she has won it.

Bucks/FTR I thought was really good. Loved the little call backs to previous matches (like when Cash was reckless diving into an empty table, similar to when he went for a 450 and missed which lost them the titles before). But I especially enjoyed the returning Jack Perry. The way security came rushing into the ring gave it a sense of realism you don't get in these angles normally. A small but important touch.

Swerve's Black Panther inspired entrance was great. Joe has been a great champion, and I have really enjoyed his reign, but Swerve has made his own ascension in the last 6-12 months and it's been great to see. I am really looking forward to what they do with him going forward. Only the 8th world champion in almost 5 years of exsistance.

  18. Abigail was pretty fun. A little long I thought pacing wise, but Dan Stevens chewing up scenery, Kathryn Newton and Kevin Durand bringing some laughs and Melissa Barrera having fun. Alisha Weir is fantastic, that's three great film performances she's had now, a right little star. Reminded me of Ready or Not at times, no surprise as it's the same directors.
