    Big stars returning or debuting.

There's nobody left who's not either wrestled for WWE and is welcome back, or is a big star who's never worked there.

In the 90s there was so many  moves from WCW to WWE and viva versa that things were kept fresh.

I reckon AJ Styles at the Rumble was the last big omg debut.  Now even guys like Samoa Joe do a year in NXT.

This is a huge point that I didn't even really think about. There's nothing at all that will give that moment like AJ debuting at the rumble or the hardy's returning for the ladder match at mania

Nah @Dead Mike, for now at least, BT are only putting about 3 events a year on Box Office. I reckon they might try charging for the Khabib vs Poirier show next (especially if it’s on at a decent time for us with it being in Abu Dhabi). And if McGregor fights before the end of the year you can bet they’ll whack the £20 charge on that.

I’d be interested to know how many buys BT got for 239. Pretty much every single person I spoke to said there was no way they’d be paying for it. And some were pretty hardcore fans. I didn’t pay for it, I know most of you on here didn’t pay for it, every tweet I saw about it was negative. I’d be surprised if it did well.

I was talking to a mate of mine last night and said exactly the same thing, I think the ppv buys for this will be extremely low but I suppose we will see

  3. Last one for now I pinky promise.... stunts and actual holy shit I'm so glad I watched this moments.....like Shane taking that horrific bump at sumerslam against blackman, jbl vs Eddie in the barbwire cage match/randy vs foley at backlash

I don't want to hate wwe but as you grow older you try and watch the current product and I just feel like I'm being fed such a watered down boring helping of paint by numbers shows and matches with nothing that makes you think I have to see this this won't happen again

  4. Also back in the early years when we started to get the raw and smackdown tv tapings, getting up and trying to get great seats and genuinely feeling like it will sell out so you have to get them and get them fast (the excitement when you find out what seats you got and how close you are ect)

Now alot of people just either don't bother or get tickets the week or so before.

  5. I'm watching some old cruiserweight stuff on the network and I saw something that no one really does anymore that at one point everyone did (including myself back on the day on shows)

Every young highflyer back In the day almost garentueed everytime you saw them make there entrance they would do the corner "make some noise X-TOWN" then back flip out to the middle of the ring showing everyone both in attendance and watching at home that you are definitely going to be delivering some flips and shit.

What little odd bits do you miss

  6. Yeah exactly what you guys above have said. I think they have really gone about this in a way that alot of die hard fans will feel quite done over for being there for however long and paying that extra a month for bt sport and ufc fight pass on top to then be told that one of the biggest and most important cards/main events that we have all looked forward to watching, you have to pay an extra 20 quid on top of all rhat other expense you pay each month to support and watch the ufc cards each month. I can't see how this decision will have anything but a negative effect and impact going forward.

  7. It seems like the ufc have really gone down the road of we know we have fans that will pay for whatever we say they have to in order to get the fights so they just keep on Pilling shit on.

I don't know how they think it's acceptable to say you have to pay for bt sport to get the ppvs which is a fair bit each month just for ufc. Then they say on top of that you have to pay more because we are putting rhis card on actual ppv. I think the amount of people that will be streaming it or wait till tomorrow and download will be staggering numbers

  8. I am really excited to watch babymetal, the cure, miley and abit of kylie as I've been told she was actually quite good.

Im abit Pissed off that bring me the horizon choose not to have there set streamed (because Lee wasn't there and there tech had to jump on was the excuse given) but I watched a video of mantra on youtube someone uploaded and my God the crowd looked absolutely dead in terms of numbers but they were on the same time as Kylie

  9. I went to download this year and I'm now so ill I've literally just thrown my guts up..... I've been shivering but sweating......

Rob zombie who I bought my ticket to see played 55 mins...... slipknot are amazing but this was the worst I've seen them at so paint by numbers.....

There were so many tent thefts and attempted rapes in tents a stone throw away from me ect

Some dude decked it and broke his knee....someone slipped 2 disks in there back

Appreciate the feedback. Our approach won’t be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s absolutely fine.

Just to answer some of your points.

We were indeed absolutely happy for him to be on the show, and we’re very happy that came through on the podcast. There’s nothing we want more than for the guest to feel comfortable, stay 30 mins longer than scheduled, and promote our show to their peers as a positive experience. So for us, an opportunity (or several) gained. Much like when we had Ahmed Johnson, Savio Vega, Todd Pettengill, Rick Bognar, Barry Horowitz, etc on the show.

Specific to this interview, we’re highly aware of the product, we’re very familiar with 1PW, we attend at least half of the 1st two years of shows and knew the ground we wanted to cover in the 1st interview.

You need to bear in mind, the next show is a fan Q&A. We planned that going in to the first interview. Due to which, we also planned for the first interview to be a light hearted chat, as we knew the grit would come from the 2nd interview. Why cover the same gritty points in two interviews?

And by all means, submit a question đź‘Ť

Christ I'm not being a dick I'm in the music/entertainment industry and thought I would give you some constructive criticism

That's the theme of their twitter/podcast/youtube channel. They're figure collectors who like old wrestling. Its not Jeremy Paxman. They're selling something different from what you are looking for. Kaz is a good brother, he's not going to ambush him.

I wasn't being horrible and I genuinely am sorry if it came across this way I just thought it wasn't at all researched and just felt quite unorganised

We took a break from interviewing WWE legends of the 90’s and instead chatted with a very frank and candid Steven Gauntley.

Join is for his first interview in over 10 years about 1PW, what went down and his future.

1 or 2 slightly audio difficulties couldn’t prevent us from getting this one up.

    https://pppodcast.podbean.com/e/turnchuckle-special-guest-steven-gauntley/

So I saw this and was genuinely interested and excited to listen as 1pw and Steven was so huge and let's face it controversial for so many reasons....

The interview is such a huge missed opportunity. The questions asked are just so basic and genuinely at times sound like you have not seen a single show, done any online research on everything from the cards the wrestlers and matches. You guys come across as genuinely happy to just be interviewing Steven not using the platform to get his side of some of the really dark and gritty things that happened.

im genuinely not being horrible I wanted to listen but this is such a huge letdown

Everyone always told me I should watch Big Bang Theory as being into comic books and wrestling and generally being a man child it should appeal to me. Essentially they were calling me a geek. I have never watched a show trying so hard to be funny fail. Just absolutely woeful. It won't be missed by me

You know what the first 5 or so seasons were amazing. A series aimed at the "geeks or nerds" in society it was fantastic then it suffered from its own success like friends did and so many others and just became really bad and almost went against everything it stood for

The WWE influence seems to be greater and greater and I feel like it's gradually taking the edge away from Progress. I miss the unlicensed music and the prescence of folk like Scurrl, Ospreay, Sabre Jnr, Dunne, Bate, Keith Lee, Riddle, Cobb etc. All these contracts being handed out have hurt the product, though it's great for the talent.

I'm watching day 2 now and I couldn't have put it better myself mate. The lack of big names is so obvious.... there was 2 first round matches back to back with 3 debuts and 3 wrestlers from out of the uk.

What has been said above is bang on the state of the uk scene has really taken the edge out of progress

  15. So I'm currently watching day 1 I have no idea any spoilers in regards to the tournament.... however I've had to unfollow progress on twitter because 2 days after the event more than likely before they even started to edit the shows they tweeted a picture of Walter with both belts which just Pissed me off more than anything they have done in ages..... why tweet that shit before people have had chance to see it giving away huge spoilers

In terms of the tournament itself like I say I'm working through it now but this year is the first year that in terms of big big names you can see just how much they have been effected by the wwe deal ect.

Pop punk pro wrestling like so much in the history of pop punk has started to sell out for a greater cause

I'm at all 3 days of Super Strong Style, but not Kaiju.

Now they've released the brackets I'm a little more excited, but nowhere near the level of the last couple of years. The lack of "PROGRESS" in the tournament has really knocked it for me. That, and the non-tournament stuff they've announced does fuck all for me either.

I am so happy someone else has said this!! This was my first thoughts when I saw it for this year. Where are all the "progress" wrestlers.

And they said that nxtuk wouldn't effect the scene
