I also misprounounced Hermione and hyberbole when I was younger. I also heard a TV show mention 'al fresco dining' and thought there was a Harry Ramsdens-esque chain called Alf Rescos.
My extended family used to caravan at a place called Holt Fleet Farm but all of them would pronounce it as Al Fleet. Was only a few years back when I was trying to see if the place still existed that I found out it was Holt Fleet.
It was only a few years back that I realised Dusty Rhodes was a play on dusty roads. Completely over my head that one.

On Topic Poster of the Year - Supremo, LaGoosh, tiger_rick
Off Topic Poster of the Year - Harmonic Generator, Mr_Danger, Devon Malcolm
Funniest Poster - Astro Hollywood, Houchen, IandrewDiceClay
Thread of the Year - As good and insightful as the Tories, US Election and covid threads are, they do show just how depressing the world is right now and there's always the danger that David may start a 7-page circular argument in them. The three that I always enjoy reading most (probably because they most closely align with my interests) are VHS and Betamax, What Play You and the AEW Dynamite thread.
Please Post More - Just CleetusVanDamme really. Always seems a laugh.
Good Au Award - johnnyboy, Frankie Crisp and FelatioLips are always sound.
Negative awards
Dolt of the Year - KingOfSports, Lord MountEvans.
White Noise - David
Failed Comedian - That forlan bloke who tried to make a troll thread about Mike Quackenbush the other week.
Worst Thread of the Year - Any thread about snacks, at one point you couldn't move in off-topic for whats your favourite chocolate/crisps/biscuit/cake. You'll never be as interesting as EatClean and chippy tea. The Netflix/Prime and Disney+ threads too because I get easily confused.

Worst pro wrestler - Luther is the only bloke in AEW I see no upside in at all. The Fiend is constantly involved in some of the worst WWE matches and moments of the past 5 years and somehow gets a pass, but he's rubbish, and no amount of half-decent cryptic promos will convince me otherwise. Michael Nakazawa isn't funny or very good at all, but at least Taz and Excalibur usually provide a chuckle during his matches.
Worst match of the year - The Fiend vs John Cena and Undertaker vs AJ Styles kickstarted the Cinematic wrestling bollocks which, outside of Stadium Stampede, has always been terrible. Luther & Serpentico vs Jericho & Hager was one of those matches so bad that Luther had to pop on Twitter afterwards to defend himself against the backlash.
Worst Event - Wrestlemania taking place in the Impact Wrestling empty garage setting then being headlined by two cinematic matches was one to forget.
Biggest letdown (Anticlimax of the Year) - AEW Womens Tag Tournament seemed like it might kickstart a faltering division but was another Brandi Rhodes vanity project, and then they pussied out of having her win it!
Stupidest Moment of the Year - Matt Hardy vs Sammy Guevara continuing after Hardy nearly died, Everyone continues to go through their spots while Alex Reynolds is knocked out and because I can't pick out a single Fiend moment as his enitre shite career merges into one, instead it'll be MITB Match where Daniel Bryan and somebody else stopped fighting for a World Title opportunity because Vinces Spitting Image puppet was giving them a bollocking.

He gets bonus points for being both shit and accused of being a nonce if I remember right.
Stinks, shitarse and a nonce. The BritWres holy trinity, surely?

What’s yours? I’m currently having a mini crisis because I’m worried that if I don’t watch my daughter in her swimming lesson she will think I don’t care but if I do watch her whilst all the other parents have their heads down in phones/tablets it’ll make me look like a nonce!
A few years back I cancelled my gym membership because they changed the layout and put the treadmills right infront of a massive window which overlooked the pool, and the only time I could get there was 5-7pm which coincided with junior swimming lessons. I was convinced that either the staff or a parent would notice I'm always on the treadmill the same time as those lessons and think I was a nonce.

And his kung fu movie style flouncing his arms and legs around.
That's reminded me that when I was a kid, I couldn't get into Booker T because he flailed his arms around too much. I remember seeing him on WCW Worldwide and thinking 'fuck me, calm it down with the arms'.

The last few pages of this thread really have been the Christmas Present Nobody Wanted 🙁

Russell Crowe in Unhinged looked like he'd just ate John Goodman and was getting the meat sweats.
Not sure why that movie got a bit of a kicking by the way, it's a fun thiller reminiscent of stuff you'd see in the 90s that struggles to get made nowadays.

Just what they need, another brand.

The amount of good-looking blokes on telly and the best you could come up with is Jamie Redknapp twice.

He has been for years.
Pretty amazed at this 'revelation' (as seems to be largely the case on here). Did people think the reporting of his 5+ star matches, or his character, in Japan was some kind of urban myth? Hardly excuseable in this day & age. Can't be that difficult to find the footage. OK, you may just have chosen not to watch it, but if I came on here saying how great some former WWE worker looked, never having watched them for the previous umpteen years, through choice, I can imagine the response(s). He is that good and we've been telling anyone that'd listen, for years. I think the IWGP Heavyweight Title probably trumps a dodgy heel turn & an appearance or two on IMPACT. Glad everyone's finally enjoying him at something like his best.
If the fanbase harping on about his 5 star matches and his character were half as annoying as you, I probably ignored them. Bore off.

I saw a clip on Facebook earlier of when TNA wrestlers appeared on Family Feud. Mick Foley was one of the lads involved (probably heard catering was free) and one of the questions was 'name another word for stink'. Surely a wind-up.

The 00s one should just be @Astro Hollywood talking about Big Brother.

Jinder has been a heel for about 9 years hasnt he? Dont remember him ever turning as a single or in the silly three man band thing?
He wasn't with the company for about 3 of those years though.
The Miz had a long stint as a heel. Shortly after his debut in 2006 until sometime in 2012 if I remember correctly.

As I saw someone on Twitter saying, “the new Taylor Swift stuff is just Phoebe Bridgers for people who’s parents are still together”.
Phoebe Bridgers is just Taylor Swift for hipsters who couldn't possibly be seen listening to a mainstream superstar.
Except she's not as good.

Is that Meltzer at the back?

Regarding Always Sunny, Glenn Howerton and Kaitlin Olson clearly having plastic surgery has actually added to the characters for me, as unintentional as that may be. Dennis and Dee are exactly the kind of vain superficial people who would have surgery to cling onto their youth but never tell the rest of the group. A mate of mine said he's not keen on the newer episodes as he finds their changing appearances distracting which is madness to me - god knows what he thought when Mac got fat or when Cricket shows up.
I finished Gangs Of London yesterday. It's daft as fuck and Joe Cole is a bit rubbish but the action scenes are excellent and it's brilliantly violent. Episode 5 in particular is a highlight. EDIT Dunno why I put this in the Netflix/Amazon thread but all of telly merges into one for me, sorry.

He'd probably be in the Ron Simmons/Sgt Slaughter role if he'd stayed with WWE. Popping up and letting out a half-arsed howl in shitty backstage segments with Heath Slater on Old School Raws.
My favourite Sting in WWE moment was him doing his promo before the Triple H match saying this was nothing to do with WCW against WWE and was about him vs The Authority, only for the commentators to completely ignore him and continue selling the match as WCW vs WWE.

The 'Trudy Judy's booty' exchange between Doug and Jake is a Doug Judy highlight.

Sami Callihan's promo was Seth Rollins in 2014/15 levels of painful.

I was just checking what former WWE jobber Caylen Croft was up to. Check out his wifes name!

Would never find her in a proper chippy, etc etc

I don't think I've ever gone from elated to deflated quicker than Omega and Callis running off, to '"This Tuesday - Impact wrestling!". I can't stand inter-promotional cross-brand shite and it's really took the wind out of the sails for me. AEW already has a bloated roster without muddying the waters by having Impact guys turn up or AEW guys go to Impact.
Other than that, thought it was a great show. Sting was a great surprise.
A thread in which for Arsenal and Spurs fans to have sexual tension and poor banter 20/21.

I've gotta say, Spurs are probably the worst team Wolves have played all season. Outside of that first minute goal, they did the square root of fuck all for 90 minutes. I'm actually embarassed we only got a point out of it.
