  1. I said the same thing to some friends a few weeks ago and they poo poohed it.

I'd much rather they have the developmental or secondary brands have the TakeOvers as a longer cross brand special, where the fans who'd be invested in those divisions are all in the same place.

That said on Mania the Cedric vs Ali match has the potential to be a breath of fresh air, whilst on TakeOver it'd be just another 4 Star match.

  2. Just picked up Titanfall 2 for a fiver from the Deals with Gold on Xbox live.

Seems criminal that a) It's this cheap, and b) EA basically sent this game out to die.

Only an hour or so in but that seems like too good a bargain not to shout about!

  3. Another great match to set the final for 'mania.

Ali has probably shown the most pronounced character growth of any guy on the roster since Neville. I don't know how much longer he can sustain taking ridiculous bumps for though, but yeah he's very quickly becoming a very good babyface.

This refresh of Gulak remains fantastic and he should be a huge part of the rehab of 205 going forward.

205 since the reboot has become in my mind the best hour of wrestling TV that WWE put out.

Good fucking lord. What's the point.

To give the show a focus after 'mania? To give more guys something to do on the show? Because cruiser tag matches are good places for spotty workrate fests, which the people hanging around will probably be into?

205 has had some excellent matches the last few weeks and people are slowly taking notice. If it sticks around, which is looking more likely I can see this being a smart move.

  5. I can't decide whether it was the quality of the match or just disillusionment with WWE's booking, but I genuinely felt that Murphy vs Daivari match could have gone either way. I'd be very interested in seeing how Murphy looks next to other 'Big' cruiserweights like Nese.

Really enjoyed Gallagher vs Ali as well. Gallagher is fantastic and has been for years but he really does play the villain beautifully.

  6. Add me to the pro Everything Sucks! camp.

The performances are really good. The kids who play Luke and McQuaid being especially good. I'll confess to maybe being easily swayed considering I was the 15 year old indie/mosh outcast kid at school, exactly when this was set, so there were large servings of 'relate' being served up but yeah it's decent.

  7. I got Forza Horizon 3 the other day as well, chiefly because the Hot Wheels expansion was £4 on MS Gold. It's belting. I don't play as much as I used to and I'm still at the point where I gasp at current gen graphics but there are moments, especially on that first drive into Horizon that are jaw dropping.

  8. I'd like to see the cruisers integrated into Raw more if I'm honest, just in a more organic way.

Have a couple of 205 guys form a tag team and go on a run. Shit, if the Revival are still all 'No Flips, Just Fists' give them a flippy dude to punch!

Have a cruiser go for the IC belt. These guys are still in the back, they should be interacting with other wrestlers.

There's ways to present these guys next to larger talent.

Absolutely loved that Buddy Murphy segment, so well done, sports like feel to the training package of him trying to cut down to 205 and then the pay off when he made it. He looks fucking brilliant, monster in this division.

Me too. One thing I've felt WWE have really dropped the ball with is the absence of guys cutting down to go for the gold. Chad Gable is crying out for a spotlight and he's not the only one.

But yeah, as I've said before the notion that they had nothing for a guy like Murphy feels like the most ridiculous thing, so hopefully he'll turn some heads.

  10. He's been good so far. His primary job so far has been to reset Vince's vision for most of the talent on screen.

Telling Gulak and Nese that they've become parodies of themselves and forcing Jack Gallagher to wrestle in appropriate attire have been lovely little bits that could serve to rehabilitate 3 guys who've suffered from Vince's production.

  11. If they'd pushed forward with Lex in the early 90's would that have made the product better? Fans SHOULDN'T cheer someone they're not positively invested in.

There are reasons to be behind Roman, he can go well enough and you could see even in developmental that he was the absolute prototype for a main eventer in WWE.

The Roman Reigns character though has been historically booked terribly and it doesn't help that he did his best to convince everyone he's a massive ballbag outside of kayfabe in the run up to WM31.

I'm resigned to him. I don't feel strongly either way now but I don't feel obliged to cheer a guy just because he's on top. I wouldn't do it for Hogan or Lex in the early 90's and I won't do it now. I don't think that makes me a bad fan.

  12. He did a few matches for Progress last year. Really good stuff, especially on Demand where they play up the real life friendship with him and Glen Joseph.

There was the run as Spud 2002 as well although I've not seen any of that.

Murphy has main evented some NXT house shows as a singles wrestler recently, he’s also been apart of a new group which could debut soon in NXT, other members include Christopher Dijak, Marcel Barthel (The Leader) and Fabian Aichner

This sounds like my new favourite thing. Like all those guys and Barthel is something else, just a really good wrestler.

I feel dirty posting this but who are your choices?

Kittie have to be in mine, I'll always have a soft spot for them. Korn playing stuff from Follow The Leader and before as the headline, Spineshank and Taproot get dual opening duties.

    Deftones, Sevendust, Taproot and Spineshank.

That said I'm massively embarrassed by my nu metal past and aside from Deftones, who remain consistently interesting, I picked the 3 least embarrassing bands in my head.

Where were Ultraspank though? I had a couple of their albums and they were head and shoulders above most of the toss at the time.

  15. So Netflix are showing Black Lightning on a week delay.

The first episode is alright, very much a Berlanti show although not connected to the Arrowverse.

It might rub some people up the wrong way, it being very much 'Black Lives Matter: The Superhero Show', but the character motivations are convincing and it clips along nicely.
