325th out of 327 on day one averages. Someone averaged 34.1 which I think I could do. I'm not paying £475 to find out though.

Of my picks. Bevan got straight through to stage 2, Leung got beat in the last 32 and Murray got beat in the last 64 so they come back tomorrow. Don't know about the European one yet. That seems to be running very slowly.

Haha, I didn’t know he was that low on the averages as well. That’s fantastic. I saw the 34 average. I know for a fact I definitely wouldn’t be the worst player there. If I hadn’t stopped playing consistently I do think I would’ve done alright at Q School. No way would I pay the money now.

Yeah I’m surprised the Euro one is still going on considering they started before us. John Michael is looking good on day one.

That was quick. 5-0 loss to Jim McEwan with a 56.42 average. Lovely stuff.

    Kai Fan Leung

He got a tour card a couple of years ago. I think on the first day. He’s a really good player but hardly played the tour and has been doing WDF stuff since. He’s a good pick.

A bloke I know from playing darts, who is a massive wanker and only a decent pub player is going to Q School again this week. That’s about £2000 he’s spent now to get absolutely hammered and then not play on the Challenge Tour because “it’s beneath him”. He’s so arrogant about the little talent he has and is convinced he will become a pro. He’s not even good enough for super league. So my enjoyment is going to come from him flopping it again with a low 50 average. Petty I know.

I think Steve Lennon will get his card back. Devon Petersen won’t after his massive fall from grace. Those are my only two nailed on predictions. Would love John Part back.

    Full list for anyone interested.

  4. One video series my mate wanted to do was visit every service station in England but someone has beat him to it. He does have a top three favourite service stations as well as least favourites. So perfect for the dull men’s club.

  5. Yeah it is. A lot of travelling and pressure for his age. Plus all the media he has to do. I hope he gets all the right people around him before night 1. I’ll watch the opening night out of intrigue of the two Lukes debuting.

  6. This post is going to be one for the Dull Men’s Club but I love stats like this. Justice for D17. I couldn’t tell you the last time I saw someone take it out. And for my good friend D13, one of my favourite doubles.

  7. Yeah he’ll do well in the premier league. Shame the new format is so dire though.

Obviously he’ll want to win everything he can, but the Matchplay is surely next on the agenda. He’s done the marathon of a worlds tournament all the way to the end. Now to complete the next hardest one.

Attends one game and proceeds to lose a final. Spursy for real.

He’s coming to see his beloved Man Utd the next home game. More misery for him.

  9. He was finally stopped. Great final. Shame it didn’t go the distance. Humphries never looked like missing a treble at times never mind the doubles. Little was fantastic again with great ton plus checkouts. He will win this one day. I think not hitting a double to go 5-2 was what cost him.

Humphries has been great the past couple of years. But to win 4 out of the last 5 majors in the same level of Taylor and MVG. He will be a multi time world champion. Not a fan of the guy but no denying his talent and he throws at a good pace so it’s always a good watch.

  10. I thought I was a good T19 hitter. I think Luke just has me there. He’s going to win it. He is unreal. His ton plus checkouts were impressive but his D10 hitting was the real key. He barely missed it. Going 16 then D10 for a 36 finish instead of straight at the D18 was lairy in a good way because of how confident he was on the double. Excellent switching. If he plays Williams, he definitely wins. If he plays Humphries, it’s going to be a lot tougher. But I believe he can do it.

Also, fair play to Rob Cross. He didn’t do much wrong. Scored well. Just couldn’t do anymore when up against someone in that form with that much confidence.

  11. Yeah MVG was awful. Can’t stand Williams but fair play to him. Put in a great performance. Gets himself into the top 32. Semis are lining up like it’s the UK Open.

Littler is now the favourite to win it despite Humphries winning 3 majors the past few months. I would love for Chizzy to finally win the big one. Here’s hoping he can get through Humphries next.

Where the fuck has he come from? Was he always tipped as a young prospect destined for the big time?

Yeah he was. Since he was about 11 or 12 his name started popping up. Then the past couple of years he’s hit a different level. Winning junior and adult tournaments around England and Europe. All the modus tournaments this year as well as the development tour. It’s all been building to this.

Cross or MVG, as they’re both so fast,

I wouldn’t call Cross fast. In fact I’d say Littler is faster than Cross. I think he’ll be alright against Cross in the semis as he’s due a wobble. I think if he plays MVG in the final, the occasion might get to him then.

  13. He shit the bed after being two legs up in the first set and throwing it away. I think he would’ve been better if he had won that first set as he was playing okay. But not much you can do when your opponent is playing like that. Even if his average was up in the 90s, he still wouldn’t have been able to live with it.

  14. Littler into the semi finals. Unreal player. The scoring, the set up play, the finishing. Makes it look easy. I’m stating to believe he’s going to win it now. And even if he doesn’t, as it is a big ask, he is going to win multiple majors in the years to come.

Bristow, Taylor, MVG. All the previous eras. Luke Littler is the next big era.

  15. Fucking hell. What a match. Dobey 4 sets up and Cross with an incredible comeback to win 5-4. Dobey missing a dart to take it to a sudden death leg. Did not expect the comeback and feel for Dobey.

Probably the best Cross performance since the demolition of Taylor in the 2018 worlds final and the comeback against Gurney in the 2019 Matchplay semi final. I don’t enjoy watching Cross or his snatchy throw. But when he plays like that, it’s a joy.

  16. 2023 was quite something.
    Negatives

Was in a job that was boring, had bad management, idiots in my team who should never have been hired. A job I would dread going to so much, it caused me stomach problems

My mum fell over and broke her femur. While in hospital we found out she has terminal cancer

Had to put my cat down very suddenly. Something I’m still very heartbroken about. My girlfriend however drew me a beautiful picture of me and him for my birthday

    Man Utd in general

Bought a moped. Second day of riding it, I had an accident. Nearly died. Bike instantly sold. Put me off for life.

    Positives

Moved in with my girlfriend in November.

Left my awful job and got a new one near where I live. Have a good work schedule, better pay, more responsibility and actually busy so the days and nights fly by. I’ve really landed on my feet.

After we only went away on short breaks abroad, me and my girlfriend went on our first proper holiday to Fuerteventura. A great time and met some amazing people

Then surprised her in September with a travel man style trip away with 48 hours in Copenhagen and Malmo.

    Going to All In.

More positives than negatives which I should take as a good year. But my mum and cat have made it a really shitty and upsetting year for the most part. I hope 2024 is better. Not just for myself, but for all of you too.

  17. Did anyone else ask any questions regarding the allegations or was that it? Because someone needed to follow up and try and get something that wasn’t waffle. Although he would’ve probably said they’re the safest company another 4 or 5 times.

  18. What a match to end the evening and 2023 on. That 10th leg in the last set was mad. Feel for Cullen and desperately wanted him to win.

Out of the eight left I’d like Dobey, Littler or Chizzy to win. Humphries is always dangerous but MVG is looking unstoppable. As much as I don’t want MVG near a final, I hope he smashes that wanker Scott Williams.

Luke already has a 2 year tour card because he won the challenge tour this year

True. I forgot about that. Although it was for finishing second on the development tour. Berry Van Peer won the challenge tour and Owen Bates got the other tour card. Either way, I forgot he got that one year tour card already. I do think with Pro Tours and such next year, he’ll soon climb up to the Top 32 in no time.

  20. Unlucky not to have a whitewash. Some performance that. Automatic tour card for Luke if he wins one more game.

Of course Cross has won it before but either him, Dobey, Littler or Dolan will be in the final. Littler or Dolan in at least the semis. Would never have picked those four before the tournament started.
